Wanna hear a silly thought? The main reasons I like declutters is for the fact that if they get rid of something I never owned, I can justify never getting it. 😅As far as your giveaway question. I think it's nicer to have more winners than one big winner, although for the person winning I'm sure they'd prefer a big jackpot LOL But yeah, I think more winners makes more people happy. :)

I'm the same. I also love "stuff I'm glad I didn't buy" videos. I've done one in the past but, this year, I just haven't been paying much attention to the new releases so I don't even know what I've missed out on, intentionally or not. lol
@@KaraChapman Yeah since I cut myself off and said "Mo more, Binch" I've turned a blind eye to a LOT of makeup content, not even wanting to see what's been coming out. I dare say, I have never saved so much, which nowadays is kind of required.

Smaller giveaway, I agree! I have bought so much less eyeshadow this year than the last 2 years. I am proud of myself but there are still palettes I wish I had! Trying to use and love my collection too it can be tough since things are so beautiful now!

If a shades to dark for transition I use a bigger fluffier brush and it works on my light skin tone.
I loved this moment 1:01:53 😂 every time I hear the hype about Pat McGrath and I look at their swatches I just then look at my indie shadow singles and think “nah I’m good”. Hilarious.
And yeah I think that idea where you have multiple giveaway winners is nice 👍🏽 I may not catch every video you post but I’ve been watching your channel for a few years now.

I bought the LEAST LIKED palette NOT KNOWING it was AND it is all shimmers! I may have swatched each color once or twice :(. In the meantime I bought a ton of Jeffree Stars and then catapulted into Glamlite, Ace Beaute, Odens Eye as well as Ensley Reign.
This is the very first video of yours i have watched. I know its old, but i love declutters lol. I just want to tell you that i appreciate you sharing your palettes with your son as well as your daughter. I have a little 4 year old boy who has to do his make up with mama all the time . Its so fun to watch him express himself through color. Although it can be hard to keep his grubby little fingers away from mama's good palettes 🤣

I'm so happy you enjoy them! There are multiple times while editing these videos that I question whether anyone will be interested in hearing me yammer on for an hour and a half (raw footage was over 2.5 hours!).

I feel the same way about doing giveaways on my channel. I never announce it because I want someone who actually wants to be there to win.
I did a hard declutter a while back. There are a few stores (Walmart & smaller drug stores) that take the packaging to recycle. I take all my containers (dry, not 100% clean) to those bins. Check your area. I’d depotted quite a few palettes (Lorac, Tarte, Urban Decay) thinking I’d use them more if they were in one place 😜 🙄 but I made myself use them since the summer and have used up a bunch of the shades. I like more smaller give-aways vs one big one. I enjoy your ‘week of makeup’ videos. It’s like we’re having a coffee & a catch up! #notastalker 😂

I love it too! My daughter now has her own collection and does her makeup before school every day (she's only 11 so the makeup is very light) and Bennett has discovered the makeup is more fun than crayons. Makes me so happy to share this passion with them.

Try a dense natural hair stippling brush for the ND cream to powder formulas. I love love my Rephr brushes. #4,5,17,31 for face. I use #12 to lay Down eyeshadow or my singe brushes I watched Angie NyQuest how she used her brushes for he cream to powder just suggesting. I prefer my Mel’s memory bundle from Sydney Grace over retro Glam.
I feel the same way about the love palette but I can’t get myself to declutter it. I think smaller giveaways are a great idea!
The ND Love midi palette has the most beautiful cool toned silvery shimmer. You might have dupes for it in your collection but it’s a staple in mine!
Oh my! Didn't want to purchase anything in the near future, but then I saw that green Odens Eye Palette... I had to get it - it looks like the perfect green palette I'm looking for for years now. And I think the smaller giveaways would be nicer.
I can't believe it's been living in my house for all this time and I HAD NO IDEA!! lol

I'd like more, and smaller, giveaways.
I use the Danessa Myrics Groundworks putty shades with my fingers. They work well as bases for drier shimmers. It compliments the DM Lightworks palette quite well. The formulas mix better than when I use, say, a high-content shea butter Adept palette with DM Groundworks. They also work for the face using fingers with a light hand.

lol! One of these days I need to get my poop together enough to host at least a premiere video so that I can interact with viewers. I haven't done a livestream in probably over a year and the thought of it makes my butt pucker; premieres are a happy medium.
Dear Kara, may I suggest you try that BH november palette with the yellows and the brown? I know that exact color combination is going to be perfect for/on you! Also, the two Oden's Eye palettes you haven't used yet - I would try and combine them - cool toned grey and that bright warm green should make a great contrast to each other and also compliment your eyes, BUT I know it sounds like too much :D I would not blend them together, just some packing at the outer corner and all over the lid kinda thing.

The age of opulence is one of those palettes that got away and I regretted not purchasing it looks just so gorgeous. I need to keep a closer eye on beauty bay

Oh, glamshop (a Polish brand I think) has an actually holographic single shade, it's kind of damn nice! I apply it with a finger on top of deep grey smokey eyes and it's pretty festive! 0.o

Oh man I LOVE the Groundwork palette!! No, I never use my fingers. I use any brush. I don’t have any real expensive brushes. I usually use ones that came in palettes. Nothing special, some Sigma which I like. I apply the cream and then go over it with the powder. If you tightline or put liner in your water line try lining with the cream there. You can even add powder there. You’ll be amazed by the wear time. I color correct with it. It’s a very forgiving formula. I was very skeptical since I’m so fair and cool toned and it works great! Don’t be afraid to put the green or orange on your face. If you have dark circles buff in the orange shade. If you have red splotches put the green shade on it. It looks dark in the pan but it’s a beautiful formula that can blend out and you can put foundation over it if you want but it’s not necessary.
I want, but think I will get lost in how to use and not use it. Too much $ to leave in drawer. Got Mario's Ethereal Eyes instead.
@@all_ears_ I highly recommend if you find it on sale or even full price if you change your mind. Especially if you are getting older. It’s very flattering on my aging eyes. You can not make a mistake! It’s a forgiving formula that blends itself! I am no make up artist. It is all matte though so if that is something to consider. The pans come out and I’m thinking of adding a light Natasha Denona shimmer.

Keep those last two Oden’s Eye Palettes (Jewels and Gems and Stone and Rock). They were, imho, the best Oden’s Eye release!
They're so beautiful. I've worn Jewels and Gems so far and am kicking myself for not even realizing I had such pretty palettes in the drawer!

Pat McGrath special shadows are never in any palette but their Mothership palettes. Try one of those, your view could change! I am truly enjoying this video!
Yeah this is true but when it comes to the special shades you still have to know how to use them. I was so annoyed the first few/ or more times I used them. You have to use glitter glue or pat intensify sticks otherwise an hour later there won’t be shadow on your lids.
I still have my love in London, Hangin’ in Hawaii, lost in Los Angeles & avocado toast love & use them
Through a Declutter I like your taste in makeup it’s similar to mine so I got a bath and started watching your videos so I just now today found out you’re doing a giveaway. I don’t care if I miss her don’t that’s not why I watch your channel. I would say three winners, as opposed to one big winner I am of the school of thought the more the merrier less is more this way you have more happy people not that I’m codependent, lol😂
I totally agree about Natasha Denona; I love her colorstories and quality, but the cream to powder formula is not my favorite. It never appears as dark on the eye as in the pan and I always have to do dig into another palette for. A deepening shade. Over all, though, hers is my favorite brand of eyeshadow.

The last time I put "giveaway" in the title, I had hundreds of entries and hardly recognized anyone. It's great to boost views on one video but it rarely leads to new subscribers and it dilutes the pool of those who are actually part of this channel's community. Boo hiss to all of that

Pat McGrath's first 6 Motherships are honestly great. I don't know if they are worth the price tag, but that's for the consumer to decide. Since she took on investors, the eye shadow palettes have declined, both in quality of the shadows, and even more in packaging. Honestly, so cheap now. I have stopped buying from PML. As for giveaways, I like smaller and many over one big win!
Oh I did not know she took on investors! That could very well explain how boring and mid quality things became.
I've never understood the hype around PML. There are so many indie brands that do it better.

I love the Frosted Flamingo palette from Sugar Drizzle. ❤ Your collection is great! ❤ It drives me crazy that if you live in Canada it costs so much for shipping. For your giveaway does it cost a lot for shipping each item? If it is more expensive then just do one giveaway. ❤ I feel like some Oden’s Eye palettes are not the same formula. I decluttered two small palettes from Asgard Queen (Dragon's daughter and the Blue Temple) because some shades were too hard pressed for me to use well and some shimmers were too neutral for my tastes. But I did save some shades for my four layered magnetic palette (which I'm still counting as one, I don't care if that's cheating XD) so now I'm back at 5 palettes. Good job me XD
I always love hearing about the items in your collection because you have so many unique items from brands I've never heard of. I picture your collection being very well-loved and curated.
@@KaraChapman A lot of indie Europe brands and many cute little pots of pigments in Etsy boxes I had carved by their artists. My green pigments is in a box saying on the inside 'Pick your poison' XD

I like the idea of many 'small' winners mosty because I feel that winning too much stuff all at once may deter the winner to use the stuff (I get overwhelmed by too many choices sometimes XD) and of course because statistically the odds of winning get a tiny bit higher ;)
My thoughts exactly! I see people like Makayla giving away thousands of dollars worth of makeup to one person and can't help think of how overwhelming it would be to get, basically, a shipping container full of stuff to store and use.

I have troubles not hoardin stuff during sales (now it's easier, Kiko makes discounts much less often XDD) and I'm still after years able to gift unused stuff to friends, colleagues, shelters and even selling on Vinted. The quality of the products is good. The brand owner has openly supported Putin and I don't accept that. But it's a personal choice and I'm not here to force my positions on anyone else. 😊

I stopped supporting ABH after learning that the owner supported Putin after the war with Ukraine began. It's not a decision I'd ever force on anyone else, but it's what feels right for me.

I'm not allowed to decide how I spend my own money? Never once have I told viewers what brands they should and should not support; only which brands I have personally chosen to no longer purchase from. Making decisions for myself is hardly nonsense.
Re: giveaways... I will not be helpful because I see both sides. Yes, spread the joy. But, if I recieve a pallet that doesn't suit, it's a pass along. So, more pallets means I'm likely to get something I like and then can pass along within my group.
