i have a sebo upright we have had 4 years, its a sebo G1. we wanted to get a canister so i bought a riccar prima on sale with fulll size nozzle for $600. i dont think you can go wrong with either brand
I just purchased the R25 Pet vacuum. The main reason was it picked up the cat litter (I brought some from home) easily, The blue Riccar I could barely move around nor could I easily pick it up - weighs a ton - really. The R25 is made in China the other models are made in Missouri (I believe). Yes it has a lot of ABS plastic, but the price point doesn't hurt as much as the Missouri made models. My favorite part of the R25 is the dirt sensor. I have hard wood floors but have an area rug that my cat is on all the time. When I first used the Riccar in my home, it was amazing how many times I went over sections of the rug because it wasn't clean. It seems that the blue model is best if you have a lot of carpet, the R25 works best if you have mostly wood floors. So far, I am happy with the R25 and in home it doesn't sound so loud as in the store. The one thing I'd like is a demo on how to properly wrap the cord without it twisting and acting like a live thing - sigh. 😸
Hi from Ohio. Replacing my old blue Hoover Wind tunnel Anniversary unit. (Dirt finder red-green lights/ Self propelled/ attachments and head light.) I like the R25. One thing nobody talks about is "self propelled" . I think I understand why as it was due to the weight of these old units. Is the R25 relatively easy to push back and forth? Thanks!
We love Simplicity/Riccar Vacuums and finally got the Riccar R40P.2. It's a $1600 machine. We watched another video on TH-cam where the R40P was tested with a particulate counter and out of the HEPA filter it was excellent but everywhere else, not so good. Around the HEPA Filter's base, Motor reset, Motor Filter, etc. Disappointing there are so many dust leaks. The Riccar R40P is a beast at 23 pounds. We thought we were buying a Vacuum that would clean the air but I guess not.
How does the Riccar Pet perform on hard floors and how does it perform along edges? Watched your video on the Sebo Felix with edges and I was super impressed!
Tandem models are impressive, but the consumer is always the test subject for these tandem units, so many revisions. Board issues, etc. Takes months to get parts (cause Tacony waits for awhile till they make a run of new parts) Tandem model will probably be in the shop more than the home. They should bring back the 8000 series of vacuums, Great performing machine without all the bells and whistles.
We have not brought that product in. Other dealers have shared with us that it is a very impressive machine. However, there is an ongoing issue where customers believe it is a wet dry vacuum and use it to vacuum fluids. This causes motor failure and is not covered under warranty since the unit is not intended for vacuuming liquids. The ensuing customer and staff experience is not positive. While it seems simple to just tell people "don't vacuum water with this" at time of sale the reality is that is not always adequate to prevent this from happening. We will consider bringing the product on at a later date but for the time being we are still on the fence.
Unknown is whether the R40 really outperforms other uprights on carpet enough to justify its very high cost. I know of no TH-cam channel doing such comparison. If one vacuums _slower_ with a "lesser" vac, would one get similar results?
Does the R40 stand alone wrt carpet cleaning or are there others that come close? I wonder how a SEBO X7 would have compared to the Riccar? Interesting that Consumer Reports never tests this level of vacuum (too expensive, perhaps).
the R40 is a vacuum only not a WRT cleaner, the only machines that i know of that offer that type of cleaning is Lindhaus although those are fantastic at cleaning the carpet dry cleaning isn't meant to replace deep carpet extraction but rather reduce the amount of times you will need that and allow you to do quick cleanups and stain removal.
It is "interesting" for sure. What is also "interesting" is that consumer report's "performance tests" contradict each other on the same machines year to year. There was one edition that did "performance testing" on a number of machines two of which were mechanically identical Miele uprights which only difference was the color of the machine and what marketplace it was sold on (one was sold on Amazon the other in dealerships). The machines got different ratings for "performance" by a significant margin. Interesting.....
I went into my local vacuum dealer today dead set on purchasing a SEBO x4. The salesman did a wonderful job explaining why SEBO was such a great vacuum and then he brought out the blue Riccar. By the end of the 15 minutes he spent going over Riccar, showing me how use it, and letting me vacuum every surface I could find - I pretty much threw my wallet at him. The SEBO felt like a toy in comparison to the Riccar. Not kidding. The blue Riccar is a strong vacuum and feels like a jet in your palm. Easy to maneuver and something this video doesn't show you is it can completely lie down to go under beds and furniture. The hose is amazingly flexible and long. There's no comparison once you see/use the SEBO and Riccar side by side. The blue Riccar is superior in every way.
Could you do a video on SEBO vs Riccar? That would be very interesting. And why doesn't the riccar have a floor squeegee? Does it not do all floor types?
Riccar are predominantly carpet vacuums. But parts are spendy and they are complicated machines. More for collectors that like oddities. Sebo is much more serviceable and cheaper parts. Something like an E3 or D4 will do all floor types and are Best in Class.
Not a bad idea. To do so we would need a modern Kirby to demo against and since we are not a Kirby dealer that is problematic. For a fair comparison it would also make sense to compare against a Kirby that has been in regular use for 6 months. There are significant reductions in performance over time with units using the belt system Kirby employs. The R40 belt is housed in a protective chamber and is serpentine instead of rubber so does not lose performance with use.
@cliffcox7643 riccar for performance sebo for longevity. Not to say riccar does ot last a long time or sebo doesn't perform. But those are the areas they beat each other in.
OK, Thank you.. I did get a chance to buy a seemingly nice Riccar R30 at a garage sale for 400 bucks.. It works, but will take it in for a check..@@joshyouwa
Very informative video. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
How does the R30 20th Anniversary compare to the R40?
Is the tandem air too strong and can damage my carpet?

Can you do a review on the clean max pro series vaccum 😊

I have a 25 year old green simplicity , what compares?

Hi there, we discuss some of the features of the Riccar pet vac in this video: th-cam.com/video/faMDwuwTBxA/w-d-xo.html

Please review the simplicity brio

@@hueywifexthank for your description. This helps. I’m gonna get it.
Love this demo 🥹❤️; wish this model had been available when I purchased mine.
You and me both!

Do the R40 and R25 have the same hose size for attachments? I can’t find information anywhere online.
How do I reset the vacuum
I know you don't want to, and understand why. But it would be nice to see a side by side with a Kirby and like a R40. Kirby is known as a deepcleaner.

I had an R40 but the suction was so strong, that I lifted up my carpet and part of the house foundation.
😲
@vacuumsrus in a serious note, Sebo vs Riccar?

@@cliffcox7643 they are both decent choices.
The R40 is the real deal.
Would love more decent domestic products. I buy American made before chinese of course. Germany, Japan usually has great products also.
