so the girl in the MV was his reflection bc in Korean version is "the me, reflected in the mirror, is going crazy endlessly" and in English "all my reflections i can't even recognize". I really love this concept of having a girl as his reflection.
besties, the woman in the mv was his reflection and that's why in the choreo, they are mirroring each other while jimin sings "my reflection in the mirror":)
because the whole song and mv talks about escapism (alcohol, parties) as way to not deal with your pain.

@Jiminie's lost jams I agree, people have been spreading theories all over the place as if they are facts. I can definitely see how the dance expresses a reflection based on the lyrics because they are obviously mirroring eachother, but people are hung up on it being a female in a literal sense, when the meaning wouldn't change no matter what gender the dancer is/are

@@Parkjiminie19 People want to validate their interpretations and experiences so they kinda project that and tie everything into what relates to them. It's fine when you have your own personal ideas about music, that's how music relates to people, but it starts to become tricky and wrong when people insist, dig too deep and spread their own explanations and theories about him/his personal life (and other people) as if it's a fact. Jimin has been very clear about his intentions and what his music means and we should always take his words as is.
The entire album is gonna blow your mind out
the girl he was duet dancing with is his own reflection in the mirror, he says so in the lyrics and it shows in their identical moves too - armys theorize she represents his more feminine side, that this whole song is basically jimin accepting both his masculinity and femininity. there are certain hints in the mv like the fact he was wearing white eyeliner on only one eye and an earring on only one side of his head. the song is about his feelings during the pandemic and him using alcohol as an escape from the various types of pain he felt - and he used the movie "like crazy" as an inspiration, that's the dialogue parts in the beginning and the end of the song.
yeah I think so too, if it was more romantic it would be okay too but It’s not the first time Jimin talks about how hard it was for him to accept himself as he is and don’t have to pretend to be a strong macho to fit gender norms, even in the performance of filter he had tattoos in latin (I think?) in each hand, one masculine and one feminine.
Also the part in the start when he was ompletely encircled by his masculinity (male dancers) and then his feminine side came and pulled him out (the female dancers)

He has spoken about the song multiple times representing a relationship that was broken from a movie. The movie like crazy. He will explain it more tomorrow but ARMY should listen to his words. And not theories.

I found it interesting that at one of the music shows when he won his encore stage he had a male dancer do that part. I love that Jimin is so welcoming to people of all identities.
The read for that is because they thought the dance was too sexy and the psycho possessive side of Army was throwing a hissy fit over the girl he was dancing with. In both the Korean and American dance team, both of his girl dance partners received alot of hate and even death threats for dancing one-on-one with him.

something does happen in the mv. once he faces the girl, it switches to him looking at himself in the mirror. the lyrics in that part in korean version is "the me, reflected in the mirror, is going crazy endlessly" and in english "all my reflections i can't even recognize". the duet with the girl is around the same time in the choreo. the girl mirrors his moves, she IS a reflection of him.

The whole album is really interesting and there are tones of theories coming out!! its such a personal album since he co produced n co wrote all the tracks where he speaks about partying as a form of escapism, some past relationships, weird times where he drifted apart from his friends, etc. Also, the entire thing is very queercoded!!

4:40 Maybe it's just me, but I think highlighting the female character would have made it overly heteronormative, esp. since people are already assuming it's a love interest based on what's in the MV & choreo.
I think Jimin & the MV director were walking a tightrope of what Jimin is conveying with the song vs. mainstream expectations for an Idol. Narrow-minded people will only see the surface (fun, drinking, partying, male-female couples), & still enjoy the song; others can see beneath those things to the themes of sadness, longing, escape & self-examination.

It’s interesting that he mentioned something like changing the choreography a bit for the Korean shows to make it more conservative. Not sure what it is that he changed. I am wondering if they are still a bit inhibited with showing a very sexy or suggestive scene directly with Jimin in fear that there will be backlash from the fans towards the girl. I remember in the My universe video there were fans getting triggered by BTS acting flirty with aliens! I think that’s why on the performances he does dance with the girl but it’s not really very close ,..more like a reflection dance. I really love this Dance Practice but in my humble opinion, the beginning of the choreo from The Tonight Show was a little bit better, the female dancer showed more feelings, the female dancer from the dance practice was a little shy when leaning her head on Jimin’s shoulder, or maybe she was just scared from the crazy fans 😅
