- Hey guys, so here we are again...I'm not quite sure where to begin with this video, so I'll just start... This piece was choreographed over 6 months ago and filmed 4 months ago at probably my most heightened period of sadness in my life, I won't go into any detail but I will explain that this piece was representational of a very defining point in my life where I was stuck at a difficult crossroads of giving up...or pushing on. Six months later me, my family, and some other very close people in my life are proud to say that we stuck together & pushed through the hardship to get me back in a state of happiness & safety where I currently am today.
I made this video as a direct representation of my life back in January when I was struck with some horrid news on a solo tour of mine between 7 countries for three weeks. This video is made to show the juxtapostition of a lifestyle that appears glamorous but can in fact be very lonely and scary. Imagine dealing with some hard personal problems all alone 4,000 miles from anyone that can just be there to give you a hug & tell you "Everythings gunna be alright". But that's ENOUGH of the sad stuff because the message of this video is the exact opposite, this video is about THE JOURNEY, THE STRUGGLE, THE HARDSHIP, AND THE FIGHT that will make you YOU and stronger, healthier, and better person in the end for what you and your loved ones have gone through. What's important about this piece, is that I didn't choreograph it after my life had slowly settled down, I choreographed it at the absolute height of when I DIDN'T know if everything would "be alright", and that is the message, the purpose. KEEP A CLEAR HEAD AND PUSH ON, KEEP MOVING FORWARD NO MATTER WHAT YOU ARE FACED WITH...NO MATTER WHAT, AND DON'T EVER LET ANYONE TELL YOU DIFFERENTLY...everything will, be alright.
Hopefully you all can understand these messages through my work loud and clear, but if not, it is here for anyone to read whenever they feel they need it. Thank you all so much for taking the time to watch this video & piece of my heart, hopefully I inspire some troubled souls out there to keep fighting if they are feeling tired. And I know I can never thank them half as much as they deserve but thank you most of all to my two beautiful parents who are the reason I am here, and the reason I never gave up. Julia & Peter Eastwood you are my saviors, my backbone, my encouragement, and my strength, love you mom and dad this is dedicated to you.

I feel like his dancing is his own form of sign language. I can feel every single emotion he puts forward and I underatand what he is 'vocalizing' through his movements... amazing.

I Love it so much!!! This is what you call "DANCING"...Ian doesn`t care about whoever sings the song,all he cares about is the message and the emotions that the song brings out,and Ian feels it...He listens through his ears and goes straight to his heart! You may not realize how much this piece effects others who watched it and fully understand the meaning of this piece, Ian.
Because every time I went through hardship, struggled, exhausted and had a thought about giving up my career as a restauranteur, I immediately grab my headphones and listen to this songs and picturing in my head how you dance to it.(i haven't download it on my Blackberry)
Somehow, it gives me strength to push on, keep my chin up, wipe my tears, and hide my sadness and tiredness with a BIG smile.
Because I know there are people behind me who helped me pushing on and keep saying to me to be patient. that everything is gonna be alright. They're also the reason why i have to succeed. They're my parents.

-"Everythings gunna be alright"-Taking a deep breath to calm down, my mother has taught me this my entire life when I am overwhelmed, and if you are someone who is close to me I'm sure I have told you to take a deep breath at least once in your life.
This guy is WORTHY to be called INSPIRATION.Don't you see the light in his eyes when he dances?The passion he puts into every step.His choreography always have that magic touch,they overwhelm you,they hypnotize you, and all you do is keep pressing the replay button.He tells you a story just by moving his body and he makes you feel part of it.This isn't only dancing, this is ART.I can't say more,he's an amazing choreographer/dancer but above all a really great person.Thank you Ian for inspire us.
PART III:
-"and the bright lights"-creating the image that pops up when adjusting the brightness on a mac computer. (this is my favorite one)
-"Everythings gunna be alright"- I hit my heart two times, this is a sign my mom would give me when she would drop me off at school to tell me she loves me so she wouldn't embarrass me in front of my friends. We still do this today.
-"Be alright"-clearing my way through the hard times, getting the fresh air.
-"Through the sorrow"-wiping tears
While watching this video i realized that even when you dont "know" a person on a personal level they still can touch, inspire, encourage you on so many levels. Thank you Ian for being a reminder that everything going be alright through tough and uncertain times. Lots of love!!!
PART II:
-"holding my heart"-feels like my heart has stopped beating because of heartache, so I cut my chest open and pull it out to check if it still has a pulse, my love/passion keeps it alive.
-"I love you"- similar to a game I play with my mom & friends on each others back where you spell things out with your fingers and they have to guess what you've spelled without looking, I spell out "I
"The person who can make a hotel room corner into a platform for a piece of art, is the person who makes me wanna dance, everyday". I find such inspiration in this man, its the only reason I started taking classes, forreal. I hope he can read this one day. Thank you.

Ian Eastwood, you make it very easy to be a fan of yours. Not only through your marvelous talent, but through your humility and vulnerability. You thank us, your parents, any loved one in general every day to be where you are; you tell stories through your craft that not only swell us with amazement but also give us a message to follow in life. just finished telling my dad why I adore and admire you. This video just proves the points I made to him even more. I love the fact that you don't let the negativity get into your head and stop you from doing what you love. Knowing that a very well-known person still has troubles and worries and doubts just reminds me that everything WILL be alright because we ALL go through hardships once in awhile to test our strength. You, Ian, are a very strong person.

I've been dancing for nearly 7 years now, and i teach my own little group of dancers from the ages of 9-11. When I dance in the corner of the studio they ask where I learned that set from, and I tell them about your videos. I then came back to my classes to find them dancing sections of your dances. You inspired me to carry on dancing, and you have now inspired my little ones to dance. You are an inspiration to every dancer out there and your family would be very proud.

what struck me most was your comments about the wordplay, so deeply affecting your memories, those little things that made you feel safe, loved and fully accepted. I realized how important it was for you to create this choreography, but I also realized what I, as a choreographer and a dancer, can include in my choreographies to made them better, truer, full of life. Am i the only one who cried? This is one of my favorite pieces by him, he is truly one of the most inspiring dancers on this Earth. He put so much emotion in this. I am such a huge fan and you are amazing. Don't forget that people like your fans, are here to support you know matter what.

Ian can NEVER be "old Ian" (or whatever that means) as he is more than a performer to make your day. He is a person and, being such, who he is and what he chooses to express through his dance is a culmination of his lived experiences and his narratives thereof. This is a beautiful piece that he chose to be vulnerable enough to create and share. Too bad it was lost on you. So instead of looking for "old Ian" try to search for new meaning and maybe you'll find a new YOU! Keep it up Ian!!! Love it!

This is actually one of my favorite dance pieces ever...whenever I feel heavy or just overwhelmed..I don’t know what it is about this just makes me feel seen...in a good way! I still come back to it years later! Classic!
I have watched Ian since he had exactly 4 videos on here and probably have watched everyone of his videos 20+ times. But its safe to say this is my favorite. Thanks so much for being not only an amazingly talented dancer but a someone who believes in everything they put out. The hard work you've put in shows in each and every one of these videos. They just keep getting better and better.

The first video of Ian's I ever saw was 'Little Bit', when I was a freshman in highschool. Being super shy, dance is my outlet. I dance everything I can’t put into words. Now, I’m a freshman in college, & just moved to NY a week ago. I’m happy to be here, but I miss my parents. They've always been supportive of me. ‘Be Alright’ is the first video I have watched of Ian’s on my new journey. I can’t wait to finally get to take Ian’s class here in the city. Here’s to another four years.

Watching him dance is so moving for me. I love seeing people that are devoted to their craft the way that he is, and I've never seen anyone dance with such passion. He makes every single move look so effortless and yet, you see all of the hard work put into it. He's not an artist, he's the art.

I totally feel you... I lost my brother a couple of months ago and dance was the only thing that kept me alive. Family is everything. I can feel all your struggle from this choreo, but in a good way. It's like saying "i have to do this to feel better".

I understand this video very much, Ian. Altho some people dislike how slow this video is, I actually love how this video is filmed and not everyone could completely understand the message of this video. I know how sad it is to be away from the people you love and no matter how painful it is, you have to stay focus on your daily work,right? I, who is also a solo dancer and a film student, really love this video. I'm amazed that every song you danced to, you not only try to show how well you can dance but also show people what you understand from the song. Some people find inspiration in music, in a public speaker but I always find it amazing how movement can mean so much to me. The genius of every individual piece you create always gets to me. One of the most inspiring people to grace this earth. From choreo, to the actual direction of the video, to the descriptions. Its always personal and you always outdo yourself. This is probably one of my favorite one of Ian's dances (Although they're all great). Moves are so SICK and CLEAN! I can't wait till I reach this level of dancing. It's gonna be awhile, but watching Ian tells me it's gonna be worth it!

So inspiring.. I don't know if anyone else caught this but near the ending, Ian looked up and spread his arms, like he was looking at a rainbow. Meaning everything was going to be alright. Wordplay on 1000.
This video just shows so much of why you inspire me, not just with dance and trying to be the best dancer i can be but with so many other things. The things you say in your descriptions are a massive part of why i look up to you, i'm just glad that i have someone as clever and passionate as you to watch and learn from.

I am in complete awe with this video! I seriously have no words for what i just watched.
