Two inseparable best friends navigate the last weeks of high school and are invited to a gigantic house party. Together with their nerdy friend, they spend a long day trying to score enough alcohol to supply the party and inebriate two girls to kick-start their sex lives before they go off to college. Their quest is complicated after one falls in with two inept cops determined to show him a good time.

to be honest, when this came out i was a senior in highschool, and i was astonished at how well they caught the high school atmosphere with this movie. HIGHLY accurate to high school in 2006-2010
High school in general , can't really say just those years given the fact that the writers (Seth n Evan) wrote the script based on their h.s life . Alot of ppl can relate to this

I love the end where it feels like Seth and Evan are actually saying goodbye to their friendship as they walk away from each other in the mall, with a new person, ready to go to different schools.
Every time they go "why...?" The answer is always because it's a comedy you weirdos

One of my favorite pieces of trivia for this movie is that they basically picked Chris Mintz-Plasse(McLovin) because during the auditions, the way he acted ACTUALLY infuriated Jonah Hill. So they were basically like "not only do we HAVEEEE to do that....but its perfect for the two characters" lmfao.
Every conversation these teens had is exactly how we talked as boys in highschool about girls.

I remember this film coming out when i was 18...and it was a great laugh...plus it felt very realistic as far as teenagers trying to be cool and the social interactions.

Sorry, but I started watching you guys react, but could only manage 5 minutes. It was like I was watching it with my grandparents, and I'm 50 years old. There was comedic gold happening at times, and you guys were confused and way too logical.

Without question the best raunchy teen comedy ever.
I remember going to the theater Friday night and there was like 20 kids from my high school there. We were in 10th grade so we weren't old enough to buy tickets, so we all bought tickets to Rush Hour 3 and then snuck into Superbad. It's the only movie I've ever been to where the theater was so packed I didn't sit with the people I went with, and people were standing in the back because there weren't enough seats.
As a 30 year old woman lol this is my fav movie of all timeeee so hilarious!!!

Theres nothing worse than watching a comedy movie with someone who questions every little thing like they dont know its a silly kind of comedy. So annoying. Also, this dynamic between these 2 during the movie is why dudes like having our own spaces. He couldnt even be honest.

Fun facts about Superbad-
1) Seth Rogen’s dad makes an appearance in the film as the dad that throws a baseball bat that hits Jonah Hill in the back when “Seth” jumps the fence out of his yard.
2) Seth Rogen’s mom wrote McLovin’s ending. The sex scene and him being taken away in handcuffs by the cops and his iconic “Wait for me Nicola” line.
3) Actor Christopher Mintz-Plasse(McLovin) was 16-17 during filming, thus being the only of the fictional high-schoolers that was actually underage. Jonah Hill(23) was the oldest.
4) Plasse’s mom was LEGALLY REQUIRED to be on set during the filming of McLovin’s sex scene with Nicola, due to him being underage.
5) Jonah Hill did not like Christopher Mintz-Plasse(McLovin), and hated working with him initially.
6) The “Superbad” script was first written 11 YEARS before it debuted in 2007 back in 1996.
7) The original draft of the “Superbad” script was written on Microsoft word.
8) Seth is named “Seth”, and Evan, “Evan” because the characters were based on THEMSELVES.
9) The inspiration came from seeing a terrible movie that had an unrealistic depiction of what school was actually like in the 90’s.
10) Seth Rogen wanted to play the role of “Seth” but felt he was too old by the time the script was done 7 years later.
11) If not for Talledega nights being a huge success, Superbad AND Pineapple Express may have never been made at all.
12. Emma Stone’s SIGNATURE red hair is actually a fugazi, as she is a natural blonde. Superbad was the first (of many) roles she died her hair red for.
I remember when I was in high school we talked like this all the time. Girls too. So I feel it's not unusual.

If you watch this again you can see the moment the cops decide to mess around with Fogel. In the Liquor store looking at his fake ID one leans over with a smirk and whispers something.

I saw this in theaters when it came out and the theater was pretty much empty. It flew under the radar. It's one of the few movies that I was actually in years laughing. And watching it with you guys, I'm in tears again. It's a classic. Glad they never made a part II and ruined it.
The scene where Fogal shows his fake ID with McLovin on it has to be one of the funniest scenes ever in cinema.

26:00 I got hit by a car like this once. I was walking down the sidewalk by a gas station. Car pulled out of the station without looking and I ended up on the guy's hood. I got off and the guy gave me this look like it was my fault and then drove away. I had a bruised hip for a couple days.

I was 17 when this came out, a junior in high school. This is exactly how high school was in 2007. The bullying was real, like mad real. The parties were also real- like houses were destroyed over weekends. It was nuts. When I look back now, a ton of my classmates would be in jail 😂
