Southgate wouldn't have lasted anywhere near the amount of time he had as England manager in Spain, Italy, Germany, France even the Netherlands, the bar is set higher in these countries, Trophy's what count.
Yes and England managers count not foreign ones England means England not England and Germany. England all the way through from top to bottom like any team weather it be Germany, Spain or French it's a national team so national players and coaches/managers
So the F.A. appoint Steve Mclaren's under-study, and he bottled 3 trophies in a row, 2 that were on a plate for them, because the rankings practically garaunteed them a quarter fiinal place for the duration of his tenure. and people have been media-ified to believe that this means he was the best manager they ever had. hmmmm, ok. i can't believe they kept it going for 8 yrs to be honest.
You guys are unbelievable. He is the only manager who got you to 2 euro finals. One was lost on penalties and the second on a narrow margin. The players should take responsibility as well. After aall the manager is not on the pitch.
We wouldn’t have ever won under Southgate but I don’t think he should be slagged off because of that. He got results without performance, it’s now there for the next manager to try and get both….like Spain did. And no one in Spain expected them to do what they did!
No one was surprised by the line ups everygame or the style & tactics in play... so Spain certainly would not have been, would only have won by luck or individual play- unlike Spain.. with a team ethic play.. GS had his time.. its done & will be easily forgotten when & if a top level tactical msnsger cones in & hopefully thats what we will get this time... rather than a 2nd tier level coaching team.. that includes SH.
The concept that the players might not be as good as the Sky (et al) pundit class have convinced everyone they are just does not enter their minds. The idea that the punt and chase physicals-before-technique league isn’t ‘the best in the world’ does not enter their minds. Nope, it’s more of the same, ‘Why haven’t we won!?!? Sack the manager!’
At one level, you are right. But at another level, Southgate had this coming. Southgate's preferred tactics may be boring and defensive, but he implemented boring and defensive tactics in a competent manner in 2018, 2021, 2022. This year England was simply bad a surprising amount of the time. Southgate took a boring team that knew how to defend in a low block and counterattack, and then decided to forget how to counterattack. Nobody could really fathom what England was trying to do in possession. Certainly the English players were plenty confused, which is why Pickford ended up hoofing it to Spain so many times in the final.
ironic that all the former england players shooting their mouths off never won anything themselves. Roberto baggio refused to be a pundit because he refuses to criticise players, and those who criticise, many of them could never complete a dribble past one or two players themselves. says much about the mann-, and difference between anglo saxons and others
Everyone talks like they can do better all bullshit if you cretics knew what your talking about why didn’t you go into football management as a career hot air is all I hear
For a country who has ONE trophy 57 years ago!

Gabby is the older version of Katie Price's son.
