- Hello everyone! This week I sang Le Festin (in English) from Ratatouille.
Because one cover just isn't enough! My friends and I wrote these lyrics a lil while ago and I had to worst flashback to my weeb days. Back in my prime, I used to write translyrics pretty often and I don't think half were totally awful either. As far as I'm aware, there are no official English lyrics for this song so I did my best! I hope you enjoy!

To all whom didn't know this song. This song is French. Despite of happy melody, the meaning is so deep which deals with a thief or a poor boy who is weakened by hunger and starvation while seeing rich people eating at fine restaurants.

Pitch for the final scene in Ratatouille: The Musical - the stage goes dark and this song starts playing. Little vignettes play out across the stage highlighted by spotlights...the health inspector shutting down Gusteus, a few snapshots of our heroes (linguini/Colette, remy/dad/Emile looking defeated but still hopeful because they have each other, then All of them sitting around a table together, the rat family and the human couple still looking defeated (sharing a pan of ratatouille) and Colette perks up with an idea, cut to linguini/Colette trying to convince a man in an office of something and he looks unconvinced, until Ego steps in from the shadows and pleads their case. The businessman shrugs, signs some papers and hands it to them...then the lights come up on the stage which has transitioned to the new restaurant “the ratatouille” as the final chorus plays

I'll be honest: I was very scared of hearing the english version. I've never seen a translated lyrics as effective as the original. Luckily, I was gladly proven wrong! You did an outstanding work! The lyrics was simply beautiful and -despite not even knowing french- it gave the exact same vibe as the original one! Ahhhh I just love your work soooo much! ❤️

Usually singing a translated song to english is hard since its hard to keep the beauty since the orginal is so good but you made the translation just as beautiful!
