    I have the Ariens limited The cover is attached to the spot you attached the light bar to. Was your cover attached there too, not just by the screws at the footpad? I’m wondering how I can make it work. I’ve ordered all of the items to install it

      I'm in the same boat. The dude either left those bolts off the front and just let it rattle or maybe he cut it to slot it...the way he bolted it directly on there is no way to assemble this correctly

      Funny how he did not reply to this question but all others LOL!!

      So take of the front cover with the two T45’s under that there is a spot with two carriage bolts. Align the mounts on the Niilight light bar, using the sliding adjustable mounts provided with the light bar.

    Did that light bar draw to much juice ? And is that light bar link a 2 pack.....wish there was a side mounted light that goes on both sides back by the seat like the spec models

      Not much at all. I unplug the agm battery in winter. I have a trickle charger. I usually charge it up in spring and reconnect it.

    That one bar enough to see at night? I'm wondering if you need lights shining sideways AND rearwards so you can see 360 degrees around you

    • @mistermagnificent8258
      @mistermagnificent8258  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its good for front. Side and rears would be necessary for a good 360 view. They have some smaller lighta on amazon. They can be mounted to the ROPS.

    I can't spot the link to the Amazon light. Could you please post it in comments? Thanks.

      Link is in the comments. There is also a 420W equivalent. Its brighter, I changed to this a couple years ago.

    What’s the little black box you wired in?

    • @mistermagnificent8258
      @mistermagnificent8258  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry for late reply. The small black box is just a plug. Not necessary. It was from an old HID kit for a car I had several years ago.

    How has this lightbar impacted your ability to change out the blades?

    • @tomfellows8714
      @tomfellows8714 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you go through the front of the mower to change your blades, you don't need to be close to power equipment. 🙄

      This has not. I usually jack up from the front and just put a jack stand with a cloth on top.pretty good access. Can also use the Ariens video to take off the deck.

    What is the little box that is in the middle of your wiring? Couldn't hear you over the mower.

    • @mistermagnificent8258
      @mistermagnificent8258  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That little box is unecessary. Its just a plug connector. It was used for an old hid kit from a car I had years ago.
      All you need is some wire and some connectors. Ariens had the ikon xd’s prewired, so just add the fuse and connect onto the two wires on the mower.

      Do you need a relay switch?

  • @appstate1996

    What was that little box that you ran the wires to at 1:56 and 2:17? The motor was running and I couldn't hear. It went from that to the fuse box.

    • @mistermagnificent8258
      @mistermagnificent8258  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The little black box is just a plug that holds the wite terminals. Not needed. I had one from an old HID kit. All thats needed is the fuse, some wire, and the connectors.

    I have the Ikon x 52 and wired to the prewired and my lights stay on all the time. You mentioned that this model does that and the xd does not and works off the key switch. Do you know how I can get it to work where they shut off via the key switch? I can’t find anything online

    • @mistermagnificent8258
      @mistermagnificent8258  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, sorry for the really late response. Im not sure for that. I know that people before had just installed a small toggle switch. Another option, would be to look into a replacement ignition switch from an XD model, possibly. Not sure if that will work. Id suggest the toggle switch.

    Which bolts did you use to attach the light bar?

    • @mistermagnificent8258
      @mistermagnificent8258  ปีที่แล้ว

      There are two T45 Torx bolts on the foot rest area. Take those out and the cover off. Underneath this area there are two carriage bolts. Using the light bar’s provided mounts, they can be attached and the cover can go back on over them light bar.

    Ariens xd has 2 purple and 1 black on the side where the 10 Amp fuse goes, with purple you use, the one next to the black or the first purple?

    • @mistermagnificent8258
      @mistermagnificent8258  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Im pretty sure it was the purple wire next to the black. The black is a ground wire and purple was hot wire. Also, I think I only had one purple wire. Either way, tey the purple next to the black wire. Check and make sure the light turns in and off with the ignition.

    this is a great video. I'm curious if adding this would void the 3 year/300 hour warranty?

    • @mistermagnificent8258
      @mistermagnificent8258  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I dont think so. Ariens sells a light kit that wires the same way. Their kit just has a smaller light.

    So do the lights stay on all the time or the key switch can control on and off ?

    • @mistermagnificent8258
      @mistermagnificent8258  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The lights can be turned on and off with the ignition switch. You can use them while the mower is on or off. The lights also dont need to be on when the engine is running.

    Did you use a relay in your wiring?

    • @mistermagnificent8258
      @mistermagnificent8258  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry for late reply. The small black plug is just a plastic socket to hold the plug ends. I did not use a relay. Just a fuse as in the video.
