Best Of Joy was one of the last songs Michael worked on before he passed,it was recorded sometime in 2009,and by the sounds of it Michael still could sing like an angel,this is one of my favorite songs.

There are many opinions about the Michael album... there were some unreleased songs on there, but apparently some of the songs weren't MJ :/ don't take that word from me though. I love all of the songs on that album! :)
Faith This is a very late reply, but just in case you were still wondering... Michael is like Xscape in that it's a compilation of various unreleased tracks recorded before he died. It's not an album he was working on before he died, per se - just a compilation of tracks assembled into an album. It's unlikely that these tracks would be the final setlist for whatever his next album would have ultimately been called, since Michael had a strong tendency to redo and scrap work until he felt satisfied with what he was releasing. That's why Invincible has so many near-complete but unused songs, for instance. Also, for what it's worth, Michael Prince, one of Michael's close collaborators who worked with him on the History tour, Invincible and This Is It said in an interview with fans that Michael was planning to start releasing singles only during the This Is It concerts and compile them into albums at the end so that he could get material out sooner. As for the authenticity of the tracks on Michael, the tracks that are questioned are Breaking News, Monster and Keep Your Head Up. They're part of a set of twelve songs that were sold to Michael's estate by Eddie Cascio and James Porte. The Cascios were family friends of Michael and he stayed with them in 2007, which is when the songs were supposedly written and recorded by him, Cascio and Porte. There are quite a few issues with these tracks, especially if you've listened to all twelve (the remaining nine have since leaked) which make me, personally, strongly believe they aren't MJ, including the fact that the pronunciation of things including Michael's own name sound off, the overall vocal tone sounds much more breathy and slightly more deep than Michael, and all of the ad-libs (e.g. 'hoo's) are just copy-pasted from old MJ songs. Additionally, when you listen to the Acapella (without music) version of Breaking News you'll notice that in many cases, lines or even words have been stitched together from multiple takes. In one instance they even copy and pasted a word from the song "HIStory" into the song instead of the Breaking News singer's take to make it sound more like Michael. And multiple collaborators who worked with MJ pointed out that it's very strange that these vocal recordings don't have any hand clicks, foot taps or headphone bleed (MJ listened to his music loud while recording) that are typical of Michael's other recordings. Most people who believe the tracks are fake suspect that the singer in the tracks is Jason Malachi, a singer who is noted as sounding quite similar to MJ. If you want to decide for yourself, I'd recommend listening to the Cascio tracks on Michael and then listening to Jason Malachi's song 'Critical' and deciding whether the voices sound similar to you. My personal belief is that Cascio and Porte likely wrote these songs before Michael's death and wanted him to record them, but since Michael died, they wanted to cash in and got Malachi to record vocals so they could sell them to the Estate. If it's true that they faked the songs (there is lawsuit over this in court at the moment) then I think it's a real tragedy that someone Michael trusted as much as the Cascios would betray him after his death. But I guess we'll wait and see what the court case decides. Best of Joy is a beautiful song, though. :)
