Big MacMillan with the long hairs was the first cricketer I watched on TV without even knowing what cricket is......my first memory of cricket....and then it became my oxygen ...
Same here. One of my first memories of cricket playing on TV at home as dad watched them and I would just read the name of the players on screen as I just started to be able to read
Warnie was correct that aus-sa contests used to be the most nail biting during 1990's and also most of 2000's, it was a treat for the fans of the game like us
Twas in fact a 9mm pistol - not that Warnie would know the difference! He loaned this from a guard and asked the owner to remove the rounds for this prank.
Don't ask me about warnie. He completely dogged out a very top bloke and bowler Scott Muller. Scott and I played for different clubs in Brisbane at the time. He was on test debut at the gabba.
Stories alright? He's so full of it an thinks he's chopper? I've heard McMillan tell the story it's very different? And it's a 9mm and Border that he argues with?
Yeah, right... He just tiptoed his way into the Aussies dressing room and whispered to Warnie "Where's Border? Oh, he sitting over there in the corner... Excuse me while I play a prank on him." You dumb fuck.
It wasn't an AK47. Just a pistol without bullets he borrowed from a security guard to get back at Alan Border. Alan and Brian had a bit of sledging at each other on the pitch, so Brian wanted to get back at Alan a bit. From what I hear, when Brian entered the room, all the Ausies got a scare and got up from the table but Alan was stuck in the corner and could not get out quick enough, so he got the biggest fright of the lot.

Even as an Australian this doesn't come as much of a shock because Brian was a bit of a mad man. 😃
Not mad man the Aussies ask for it and cannot stomach it if someone gives it back.
