- An older ditty from 2008:
Come on little lovely
your clammy little hands are
choking all the life from your
pretty pretty plans
Westward from the night
it's springtime in vienna
cross the colored lines
painting on a new sun
giving our demands to the city
adhere to the colors, i might
we can spend our whole lives wishing that
we had done things differently that night
waiting for your father to call
opening all your mother's mail
loosey goosey only pretends
where is the child
you can take the high road, ill take the low one
and you'll arrive before me i'm quite certain
your tiara folds as my propeller hat fades
shaking like a first time lover on a weekday
this is not a path that we've opened
we can stand outside and admire
listen to the tycoons- they're so serious
fondling the leather with their eyes
waiting for you father to call
opening all your mother's mail
loosey goosey only pretends
where is the child now
I had a dog that I called Lucy Goosey and she was my best friend in the whole world. I was going through an abusive relationship at the time and she was the only thing keeping me sane. I typed in lucy goosey on TH-cam and found this song a few months before she died. It's been a year now and I still find myself coming back to this song and crying my eyes out. Thank you for making this song, I'll never forget my sweet Lucy Goosey because of it.
That might be simultaneously the sweetest and saddest thing i've heard in regard to a song I wrote. Very sorry for your loss and hope things are getting better for you. RIP Lucy Goosey
In what appears to be a ridiculous showing of fanboyism, it's 2 years after I last posted a comment and I still love this. It's such a simple song, you possibly feel that you've outgrown it, and don't worry, we all somewhat outgrow ourselves. But the melodies here are just gorgeous. Kinda weird to think some stranger from across the globe has attached themselves to this, I guess, but I reckon that just makes it that little bit more magical :D
I agree, this song is still badass even after hearing it many years ago.
Seriously fantastic song, I'm really in love with this. Keep at it, you definitely got talent juice running through your veins.
This song is great.
Good Music. More videos for the noise of the parade.
Nice high kick
Hey Dan!
In also a very ridiculous showing of fanboyism I have repeatedly found myself listening to this song for the last four years. The melodies, the lyrics, beautiful. However, I realized another one of my favorite of your original tracks has been deleted from your page. While I don't remember the exact title of the song it had something to do with "him and him". Is there anywhere I can find this song? Does it still exist? Why did you delete it? I have been longing to hear that song now for a few years and would love to hear it again. Cheers!
Thanks a bunch for the compliment, James!! Means a lot. I actually put the Him & Him song to private a while back, but I'll go ahead and unblock it right now.
edit: I just looked for it and it looks like it may have been deleted for some reason. :(
@oliver dreyer Yep. Ruby Weapon is just me and a multitrack recorder. :)
“Never pretends” better faster I’m dum
