It's absolutely okay to be upset or disheartened if you know you could have done better. Either way I am proud of you and I know that you will do amazingly next year xxx
Ah thank you so much Ruby, I watched your video (of course) and you did absolutely amazing and should also be so proud even if you did find it a little saddening. All the best for you at Exeter as well I’m sure you’ll love it xxx
Leomaster60MC Yeah I did acknowledge that in the video. I was just feeling so many emotions and was still gutted about the rejection so it didn’t feel good enough but now I’m super happy as I know straight A’s is amazing. If I hadn’t had an A*AA offer I would have been ecstatic!
Emily Hilson it’s very understandable why you’re upset with your grades you didn’t get your first choice is just the fact that it’s straight A’s and I’m watching all these student TH-cam’s running around with As and A*s lmao
I think that just happens to be the community who make study videos on the internet, I’ve definitely seen a few of these videos without like A’s or A*’s however the TH-camrs that actually class themselves as study channels just tend to be high achievers because that’s their nature.
I can totally relate, I had an A*AA offer for Cambridge but I just missed the grades - I got A*AB, with the B in the subject I thought I was best at. Oh well, life goes on but it’s still painful whenever I see anything Cambridge-related on social media😂
Everything happens for a reason. I got 2 Ds at A Level, if I had worked harder I could have done so much better. I went to Uni, worked my arse off and got a First Class so I redeemed myself. Never give up guys, whatever level you’re at.
You will love Leeds! Just finished first year and although it’s a big uni/city it feels small in lots of ways- everything’s so close and you’ll see the same faces around uni 🎉 congrats on your amazing results
Bless you, results day was horrible Ino exactly how u feel opening that paper to grades that were just not quite what I wanted, sending you all the best wishes xx
leeds is still a russel group uni and highly regarded! and you still got straight A's which is more than what most people get :) i found out I'm going to Leeds as well and i'm buzzin
I’m about to go into my third year at university. It was my insurance choice, but I have had the absolute best two years and I genuinely couldn’t be happier. It will all work out! I hope you enjoy university which I’m sure you will☺️ xxx
I missed my firm for Manchester for music - but Igot into my insurance at Huddersfield. I’m utterly gutted but I’ve been put on this path for a reason !
I rejected LSE (chose to avoid Oxbridge like the plague) because I realised the most important thing about university life is actually the atmosphere and having fun in this short time period of your life you get to really enjoy it. If I didn't do maths at UEA (which was the best 3 years), I would have gone to Leeds I think... Heard it was a lot of fun. Also it's much better for your future career prospects to mess up your A-Levels (to an extent so you can still go to a top 20/30 uni) but smash your degree. So many people get A*'s and A's but end up with 2.1's and not firsts. University is a cut above and a few years into your career, your CV will lose A-Levels and GCSE's but your degree will always be there. And even more important than education is that you have a good work-life balance and earn great money (if possible, makes life so much easier) in a career which you enjoy. We've binned applicants with A*'s and even top marks from top unis (including Oxbridge) because they didn't develop the all-round abilities you would hope for as an employer.
Your Guy I’ve done a similar thing, got three A’s, but chose to avoid all the top Uni’s, for various reasons such as reputation, and the life there itself and went for a Uni i felt was better based on my own opinions. Good to hear that the degree is the most important bit!
It is completely okay to feel a little bad even when you've done really well because sometimes we tend to aim high and don't get exactly what we want. But you should be really proud of yourself 😘❤️
i agree with not getting a remark because it’s maths, not really a wordy subject so marks aren’t subjective :( the mark probably wouldn’t change much xx
oh my god, I saw the thumbnail of this video and thought, "the background looks familiar", then realized that we go to the same school :) anyway congrats on the results, you did amazing :)
Hi Emily! Well done on these results. They’re very impressive so you should be proud of yourself. I’m out the other side of the higher education system and am near to finishing my MA at KCL. Not to worry people who are going to Durham, BUT I know an awful lot of people who had really, really bad experiences there (including releasing the wrong final results..!) so I’d say your better off at Leeds, which is a great institution. Congratulations again, enjoy your uni shopping!
Sophie Makes Up Thank you very much! It shouldn’t be, but it is kind of reassuring to hear bad Durham stories as it makes me feel better about the situation! Honestly though I’m now happy with Leeds regardless and I’m sure I’ll love it! Thanks again and I definitely will enjoy the shopping :)
I didn't get my first choice last year. I was really upset but it's turned out to be an amazing year at my insurance choice uni! You just have to make the most of your situation :)
I got a biology remark a few years ago that went up 3 or 4 marks so like 8 UMS roughly which raised my grade to an A and got me my med school offer, it might be worth remarking as A level marking is notoriously bad, and you can get an emergency one that only takes a week or so to happen! 4 UMS is only two raw marks right?
I missed my firm choice too and I was gutted, I cried as well because I really wanted to go there (I got 3 D's and a C in my EPQ and needed ABB) but I got into my insurance choice through UCAS points and I love it at my insurance uni 😊 Just completed my first year at university with A+, B-, C+ and a D
i’m in a similar position- missed my grades for durham by 2 ums and am waiting on a remark 😂 i’ll still be happy with my insurance but i know exactly how you felt on results day because i felt the exact same! best wishes for next year xx
Omg this happened to me!!! I got a lowered offer at Durham to do English , needed AAB ( the A in English) and I opened track and saw I'd been rejected , went and got my results and got AAC , so the C Is getting remarked but when I emailed Durham they told me I have no guarantee of my place staying open . I was absolutely devastated. I'd got my A in English as well . It's so disheartening, but it will all work out , good luck with everything xx💖
Congrats I got A* A* A and I am soo happy!! Well i actually got A* A* A B but thankfully i took spanish (i am a native spanish speaker) so i managed to get in to my uni because of it!
Honestly think this’ll be a blessing in disguise! I have friends at Durham and Leeds and the ones in Leeds are much happier. Durham is a great uni academically but that’s about it for most people Even if you aren’t a party animal, the general life style at Durham is so dull (unless you’re happy to fully invest 3+ years in only caring about academics, in which case more power to you)
It was such a gross module wasn’t it! Well actually I enjoyed the content just struggled with the exams. It didn’t help there were only a few hundred across the country that actually sat the module and they were all the best of the best. Hope the D didn’t affect you too much over all :(
Emily Hilson the paper this year was just not made for the time limit and they were asking too much for the number of marks available! Luckily I had the c from last year so the d was discounted and I scraped an A* by 0.333 UMS overall which was a huge shock! Well on 3 A's overall, you did so well!
Emily Hilson also how are the FP4 grade boundaries like the highest out of all maths units considering its the hardest and like no one takes it. Makes no sense
Well done I know you wanted Durham but I herd they are really anal on marking for example one word under or over the word count for an assignment means you are waffling or have t written enough and that mean you fail in the long run you are better off at Leeds
Congrats. You did well and you should be proud. On a side what career path do you wish to pursue when you get your degree? I ask as Computer Science is quite vast subject.
Thank you! I actually don’t know what career path I want to take, I’m hoping I’ll learn that at uni once I know which modules I like best, since I’ll go much more in depth during my degree than I did at A Level. If there’s an option to do a year in industry during my degree I may also do that (most likely programming, hopefully application development or something) to give me a taster of a field of work :)
After filming this I realised I have to gain 3/4 UMS in 2 different papers to get the above grade so less easy than I first anticipated. And honestly I just don’t believe I did well enough to get the A*. Plus I’m now happy with Leeds so I’ll just save myself the money!
I’ve just graduated from Leeds this year having gone there as my insurance and honey trust me, it’s a really good place. I did Law so it might not be 100% the same but there’s a reason why student satisfaction is so high. My lecturers were amazing and experts in their areas. I’m really going to miss it. Hun you did amazing so chin up and feel proud. This is probably a better fit for you xxxx
I’m not disappointed, I’m really happy with my grades. I stated that in the video. I only seemed disappointed because I’d been rejected from university and that put me down.
Oh my gosh I was going to add some text in saying what happened but I completely forgot! My dog started snuffling underneath my door and it scared me to death 😂😂😂😂
OMG STRAIGHT A's???? WOWWWW!! That's amazing!!!! I can't believe you didn't get accepted with those grades 😳😳😳 Honestly, well done you should be proud!!! 💕 I just uploaded my "A level nightmare" on my channel eek x
Emily Hilson I’ve just finished gcses there so waiting for the results in a few days hopefully got good enough grades to leave finally to a different sixth form 😂😂
Ah so much good luck for Thursday! Our sixth form actually is so much better than lower school though you get treated so differently so if for whatever reason you end up there it’s not so bad!
You did so so well, but I understand why you’d be upset. However, Leeds is a good Uni! My sister went there and did computer science and loved it, and now she works in Barclays in London. I am so sure that you’re going to enjoy wherever life takes you. Much love ♥️♥️
I know how you feel. Success is relative. I got upset with A*A*A* because I wanted full UMS... I know I should be happy but to me I didn't reach my goal.
Ruby Granger HI RUBYY
shut up
Adam Seddon no you
Never in my life have i ever saw someone get disgusted about straight As
Leomaster60MC Yeah I did acknowledge that in the video. I was just feeling so many emotions and was still gutted about the rejection so it didn’t feel good enough but now I’m super happy as I know straight A’s is amazing. If I hadn’t had an A*AA offer I would have been ecstatic!

Lol i thought that it was so funny
Leomaster60MC I would be so happy if I got straight As
I can totally relate, I had an A*AA offer for Cambridge but I just missed the grades - I got A*AB, with the B in the subject I thought I was best at. Oh well, life goes on but it’s still painful whenever I see anything Cambridge-related on social media😂
What course did u apply for?
I think I’d cry & jump for joy for like 15 years if I got straight A’s lol xx
That’s what I would have done if I hadn’t have just got a rejection from my top choice 😂 x
That's what you could do if you worked hard.
Straight A’s are amazing! This is what I hate about being graded, it makes people who are so smart feel like they haven’t done enough 😞 good luck!
Thank you very much 💞
Everything happens for a reason. I got 2 Ds at A Level, if I had worked harder I could have done so much better. I went to Uni, worked my arse off and got a First Class so I redeemed myself. Never give up guys, whatever level you’re at.
Durham is known as a place for oxbridge rejects so I wouldn’t worry
I was an Oxbridge reject 😂 but yeah I get you
Omds you got straight A girl you are smart hun, that uni lost a good person
Aw thank you lovely x
Aww girl, its okay, you did so well, even tho you didn't get into Durham you still got 3 A's and that's amazing!!
You will love Leeds! Just finished first year and although it’s a big uni/city it feels small in lots of ways- everything’s so close and you’ll see the same faces around uni 🎉 congrats on your amazing results
Anna Peachman I’m so glad you’re enjoying your time there! That only makes me more excited to go. Thank you very much 😊
Bless you, results day was horrible Ino exactly how u feel opening that paper to grades that were just not quite what I wanted, sending you all the best wishes xx
Thank you very much! Hope you’re doing / you do well wherever you end up going whether that’s uni or not xx

jimbo nutrin Yeah I’m happy with going to Leeds now! And hooray! See you there 😉
yaaas x
Emily Hilson Leeds is amazing the area is lovely it’s an amazing city so you are very lucky!
@@hollyg7346 I've lived there it's terrible tbh
@@irumamiu so have I, liked it
I’m about to go into my third year at university.
I’m also trying to have the same positive mindset now! I wish you the best at Huddersfield :)

you... you rejected LSE... holy cowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww respect
Your Guy what a levels did you do?
I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU REMARK!!!!! YOU HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE GRADE WISE!
It is completely okay to feel a little bad even when you've done really well because sometimes we tend to aim high and don't get exactly what we want. But you should be really proud of yourself 😘❤️
I understand if you wanted higher A but straight A’s is outstanding! You should be proud... that’s something I dream about xox
i agree with not getting a remark because it’s maths, not really a wordy subject so marks aren’t subjective :( the mark probably wouldn’t change much xx
Yeah my thoughts exactly! I really don’t think I did well enough for the A* so there’s just no point
If I were you...I'd get a remark, you don't want to regret anything 3 years down the line
oh my god, I saw the thumbnail of this video and thought, "the background looks familiar", then realized that we go to the same school :) anyway congrats on the results, you did amazing :)
You’re now the second person that’s said that 😂 Hope you don’t completely hate the school, it’s a decent place! And thank you x
You did amazing!! Just think everything happens for a reason, Leeds is where you are supposed to go 💗
Natalie Joanne Thank you so much! That’s the attitude I’m taking now 💞
Hi Emily! Well done on these results. They’re very impressive so you should be proud of yourself. I’m out the other side of the higher education system and am near to finishing my MA at KCL. Those who say that she is weird to be disappointed over A's. Everyone has different expectations and hers may be just higher than yours.
You should get a remark
Ucas reaction 5:15
Results reaction 6:15
Shame you didn’t get into your top choice but results were still amazing well done
Ethic Zynt Thanks a lot!

I got a d also in FP4, our whole class resit it as we got C's last year, we were all so much more confident, and then AQA created a horror of a paper
It was such a gross module wasn’t it! Well actually I enjoyed the content just struggled with the exams. It didn’t help there were only a few hundred across the country that actually sat the module and they were all the best of the best. Hope the D didn’t affect you too much over all :(

Ah I’m glad you enjoyed yourself! I’ve heard so many great things and I’m really excited. Thank you very much! xx
Are you employed?
DVG not currently as I plan to do the BPTC in sept
I'm off to Leeds too! We can always bump into each other and I'd be more than happy to show you around and take you to Fruity Fridays ;)
Ah I hope you enjoy it! I’m very excited for Fruity Fridays not going to lie 😂
3 A's and she is disappointed
I’m not disappointed, I’m really happy with my grades. I stated that in the video. I only seemed disappointed because I’d been rejected from university and that put me down.
Success is relative especially when you work hard
Thank you Isabel 💞
3 As is amazing anyway! Leeds is a great uni, you did so well x
Amazing results you should be happy :)
Pastel Grace thank you so much!
You have a good choice of subjects.
I go to Leeds and I promise you it's amazing! You'll love it :)
That’s so good to hear thank you!
Well done 😍😘
Congrats :)
K.Ui Thanks!!
Did you do AQA computing and if so did you do python? and how did you revise for it?
Leeds will be much better than Durham.
NickyL Many people have been telling me this 😂
I agree the area is lovely it’s an amazing city
Exactly 10 minutes, hmmm, interesting 🤔🤔🤔🤔Why would you do that.
I don't get ad money so this was purely coincidental🙂
Emily Hilson In that case, sorry, and congrats on your results! I think it’s amazing!
you'll enjoy Leeds far more than Durham, will be a great few years
My firm is Leeds and I don’t even know if I’m getting with a reduced offer
Good Luck!!! I hope you got in🥳
Emily Hilson wow fortunately I did
Hooray! Well doneee!
Leeds is a great university anyway and I hope you’re finding it good
Yeah I am thank you very much :)
6:32 reminded me of when Hermione Granger was upset because she got A not A+ 😂Love you girl, you did great 💓
How can you prefer the location of Durham Leeds is godly
Congratulations with your results, they were amazing! I uploaded a results day video too! x
Thank you, I just checked out your video, well done! :)
My brother goes to Durham university
What happened there 😂😂 ur reaction was priceless 8:12
Oh my gosh I was going to add some text in saying what happened but I completely forgot! My dog started snuffling underneath my door and it scared me to death 😂😂😂😂
Its was so funny it cracked me up😂😂😂😂😭
You have pretty eyes
Yara Razvan Aw thank you!
You are extremely smart even the way u speak u should soo smart
Like at least you got into your back up
OMG STRAIGHT A's???? WOWWWW!! That's amazing!!!! I can't believe you didn't get accepted with those grades 😳😳😳 Honestly, well done you should be proud!!! 💕 I just uploaded my "A level nightmare" on my channel eek x
Thank you so much! Clearly they’re missing out not accepting me 😂 (just kidding I’m fine with it now!) I’ll be sure to check your video out later! x
Emily Hilson They are!! Although everything happens for a reason ☺️☺️✌️
We go the same school :)
Oh wow! I hope you’re enjoying it there, it really is a great school in the grand scheme of things :)
Emily Hilson I would stay at sandbach but they dont offer the courses i want to do 😂😂
What did u get in your GCSE maths?
Asif Mahmoud I got an A* :)
You did so so well, but I understand why you’d be upset. However, Leeds is a good Uni! My sister went there and did computer science and loved it, and now she works in Barclays in London. I am so sure that you’re going to enjoy wherever life takes you. Much love ♥️♥️
What course are you doing ?
Souha Hashim Computer Science with Mathematics :)
Emily Hilson excellent course
Jim Ashley thank you!
I get why ur upset we all have our own goals. But fuck durham u did amaaaaaaaaaazing sis
NICE
She literally has no expression on her face when talking 😂😂
Mini Me I agree with this tbh😂
Ugh such a struggle getting straight A s u have such a hard life :((
lmao exactly 10 minute video, how sad.
Can you please explain how exactly that is sad?
I know how you feel. Success is relative. I got upset with A*A*A* because I wanted full UMS... I know I should be happy but to me I didn't reach my goal.
