Still don't understand that something which applies to developer or Devops centric roles doesn't apply to each and every field of IT.
Definitely need to put a lot of thought into what you said. It all seems true, but, in consulting especially, employees are forced to get certified in every certification that exists. Just to be ready when an opportunity knock’s. Do you think that is a good strategy, if not what would you recommend consulting companies do otherwise?
Also, for a Cloud consulting company to be a Partner with Amazon or Google or Microsoft needs some %age of employees to be certified in AWS, GCP or Azure to be recognized as official partners. This is the only criteria to get a partnership with those companies. So, people working in Sales, Testing, Data backgrounds are forced to pursue these certifications even though they do not use these skills in their day-to-day job. So, if you’re saying that people need to stop pursuing these certifications, what would you advise the consulting companies do otherwise?
If you followed my video then you should have noticed that I am advocating for relevant certification not just for the sack of certification by using online questions dumps and without putting effort to learn about the concept. You point is valid for consulting firm no doubt about it and it is needed for being complaint partner with aws, gcp… but on the other hand consulting companies have big advantage of showcasing - 1.testimonial from clients 2. References from actual work 3. Putting up open source work to demonstrate the ability 4. Offering free consultation to client for a week and converting it into paid opportunity so that they feel safe
What about going through multiple certifications with the same subject for the extra education and practice since we are learning at home? This is what I'm doing
i see what you mean sir. Im currently stuck between a rock and a hard place where i did a bootcamp and know i can do things but because of no experience. I hope that im on the right path. what do you think?
Terraform and Linux certe are very useful at any level as they are full of basics.. consice .. easy .. but highly demanded and used. Youll gain skill doing those. DNT GO ADVANCED LEVELING UP ON THEM. stick to basics. K8s is difficult due to short time during exam. Better subsctibe to a Hands on course with interactive labs.

Very insightful and on point Rahul! Proof that there are no shortcuts to anything worthwhile... On another note, if you're looking to get a certification take the time to investigate how you can either get your employer, partner or the CSP to pay for it.... Why pay if you don't have to...
Yup certification are not just shortcuts to mastering cloud you have to practice it 😊 and the embrace it. In a 9 to 5 we have to count time as a limited resource so if you really looking for certs then you are investing the valuable asset which time and on top of that you are paying if employer is not sponsoring it.

If certification wont do anything, atleast your knowledge and learning will increase and won't go in vain. Something is always better than nothing. Hands-on experience is must corresponding to certification
IMO certification keep me focus on learning cloud native platforms. Having a certificate helps me focused organized on the path of learning. It also help to add some weighted on your resume upto some extent when filtering algorithms.
Totally agree! But now a days a lot candidates are doing the certification just by reading only the dumps not even putting a effort to understand the topic

A lot of people now a days just clear the certification by reading the online dumps and not even putting an effort to learn the concepts
@@RahulWagh Thank you for the advice. I started learning the cloud last year. I have not taken any certifications yet because I wanted to focus on becoming good at doing things hands on. The first certifications I am taking are the AI ones.
I don't agree with this completely. Certificates are valuable at 2 levels, entry level and professional level. Anyone doing IT should get atleast the fundamental certificate in their area of experience. This gives new hires a bit more noticeability over people who are fresh out of college with no work experience and it shows your employer you are willing to make an effort to upskill yourself. I have noticed hard requirements for professional level certifications in senior/lead/principal roles. Just because you did the same thing for 7 years doesn't mean you have the in depth knowledge that these professional level certifications test you on. Outside of entry level / top level certifications in the area of your expertise, there is no need for certifications imo.
Candidates are not honest about their certifications they just use the online dumps without even trying to put an effort to learn and practice the topics. I have interviewed candidates having cleared architect level certificate but unable to explain simple 3 tier app, high availability concept in real
Yes it is possible first learn the basic of clouds before even trying to directly jumping on the data engineering topics. Focus on network vpc how resources are deployed managed then learn the data engineering
There should be a balance on both. Most of current jobs require you to have a valid certificate to apply. Skills alone will make it difficult for job. Same with cerficiations alone without skills. Most of cerficiate collectors including me does that because most of those come at a free of cost and we should take them as patnership requiments require people to be certified. And I also feel that as most of the cetifications is an mcq and mostly towards their service. Let it be aws or gcp or anything. It should come at a nominal free if its going to be expired. Even Kubernetes Certification have shortened their validity from 3 to 2 years. For Kubernetes the cost can be justified as they have to maintain a heavy server and the exam is hands on. But I still don't know why a provider is charging heavily for a certification that promotes their business. Also from one certification to a lot of certifications is where we are at even for a single provider. And the point should be more of certifications are good if you learn and attend rather than check dumps and pass.
@@RahulWagh yes. I think at one part the companies are also part of the issue where they force certifications. The cheating is known to providers and yet the silently allow as more people who pass means more business
Certifications are great before switching companies. 😊 Sure it gives you a vast amount of additional knowledge about a subject but nowadays it's mostly a money trap and a great business for organizations issuing them.
I see no issue with getting cert and telling people to stay away is foolish. Cert are not the one all be all but they are part of the package. There are real shortages in many area and you you going out and just practicing to get hand on and skill is not enough and all that posting on Stack Overflow will never been seen by HR and will only work for a small percentage of jobs. The truth is you need a combination of things to be valuable to companies and the cert, labs, projects, and networking are all part of it.
My point is students do not do certification honestly they just worship online question dumps and get a certification badge like architect which make me worried a lot
i do think too that certs not that worth but sometimes they help in screenings. Especially important ones with good projects. I recently got placed because of the certs in my college as it created some impression on the interviewer but of course the interview didnt revovle around it. In the end i asked interviewer itself because he was friendly, what certs or skills should i prefer . He said your words only that it doesnt matter much but he said go for red hat certs and kubernetes. But as right now preparing for terraform associate from your course i knew one thing that as a newbie going through cert prep helps a lot because it can little bit gap up the knowledge which would rather require experience. I am following your associate video for it.
Glad to you are following the my video to prepare for the exam. I always appreciate who does the certification honestly by practicing the topics rather just buying the dumps online and then cracking the exam based on the questions without even focusing on the concepts
@@RahulWagh yes I never prefer dumps, it's just waste of time and money. Better to practice concepts and use dumps to reinforce more. Today's my exam hope i clear it
Hi Rahul, Whatever you said is true in reality. People are reading dumps etc...etc. made questionable its value in today's market! But it is not completely useless, I still see in companies where people are adding notes of completed certifications in end-end performance evaluations, and also some job interviews are preferring for short listings.

The problem does lie on the certification. It is the problem of the industry. The recruiter is not actually sure what they want from the candidate. If a candidate is not from the HR's cherished source, then you will be interviewed that you don't have any idea about. I myself is the proof. I am an MCA from a central university and also certified Linux admin in available as well as holder of CCNA. I answered all the questions of Linux and networking. Suddenly the discussion moved to cloud in which I am not an expert. Still answered one of two questions. At the end, their reply was I don't have necessary qualification and experience in cloud. But the post was of Linux admin😅 they want a shirt of such a size that will fit everyone. Situation of Indian IT industry is grim and videos like yours are making the protective candidates more confused. You yourself are confused and therefore try to confuse others too.😮 Indian IT a junk.😮

Only certification does not make you a guru of everything, reality is different from the certs
Rahul dada, networking 1 yr exp ahe.AWS and azure shiklo pan cloud che call yet nahi.
Give me advice sir.
I do not have a degree, I have a diploma in computer systems technician, and now I am preparing for certifications. But I can't even get entry level jobs, my resume is not being picked up. How can I even gain experience in the first place. Guide me
The reality is managers are asking to learn AI . Secondly when you want to make a transition within your current company certification only become a proof that you have some learning curve maintained . Still don't understand that something which applies to developer or Devops centric roles doesn't apply to each and every field of IT.
I love your channel. How you explain things makes it easy for me to understand complex concepts.
@@UniqueAB247 glad to have you
Definitely need to put a lot of thought into what you said.
You point is valid for consulting firm no doubt about it and it is needed for being complaint partner with aws, gcp… but on the other hand consulting companies have big advantage of showcasing - 1.testimonial from clients
2. References from actual work
3. Putting up open source work to demonstrate the ability
4. Offering free consultation to client for a week and converting it into paid opportunity so that they feel safe
What about going through multiple certifications with the same subject for the extra education and practice since we are learning at home? This is what I'm doing
Learn honestly and do not refer any online dumps just for the sake of clearning certification
i see what you mean sir. Im currently stuck between a rock and a hard place where i did a bootcamp and know i can do things but because of no experience. Im going for 3 certifications only. the Terraform, AWS Developer, and either K8s or Linux cert.
From my perspective, i plan on leveraging those to get my foot in the door: the job interview. no guarantee of a job but thats not my expectation. alongside that i will be working on my projects. related to that.
I hope that im on the right path. what do you think?
Yes you are on absolutely right path
Terraform and Linux certe are very useful at any level as they are full of basics.. consice .. easy .. but highly demanded and used. Youll gain skill doing those.
DNT GO ADVANCED LEVELING UP ON THEM. stick to basics.
K8s is difficult due to short time during exam. Better subsctibe to a Hands on course with interactive labs.
man, you spoke my mind. thank you very very much for speaking out that loud.
Glad to hear it
absolutely right ,2:52 i have az900 , az104 when i tell interviewer i have xyz certification very less interviewer react on that. most of ok ok tell us real time experience 🤣
Here you go sharing your honest opinions. I do believe and trust what you said with regards to the certifications
@@LalalL-j4n but at least you get the chance to be interviewed
Very insightful and on point Rahul! Proof that there are no shortcuts to anything worthwhile... On another note, if you're looking to get a certification take the time to investigate how you can either get your employer, partner or the CSP to pay for it.... Why pay if you don't have to...
Yup certification are not just shortcuts to mastering cloud you have to practice it 😊 and the embrace it.
In a 9 to 5 we have to count time as a limited resource so if you really looking for certs then you are investing the valuable asset which time and on top of that you are paying if employer is not sponsoring it.
Frankly speaking in my past 10+ exp
In It industry i never observer or met or heared somehow who have some xyz certificate and able to use and help in their current project even at 10% efficiency
Pls mind it , it's my blunt thoughts
Dont drag it to argument
Thanks folks!!!
Personally I decided to get a few certifications because am going the consulting way and they give me some credibility with potential clients and at least give an indication of my abilities and suitability to a project
Hello Rahul, I enjoy your channel I have a couple questions please. I was awarded my AWS Certified Solutions Architect two days ago. I want to work on projects to get real world experience. I want to work on projects that only gives me experience so when I inverview I want to know what I'm talking about. Also , I'm looking for the best site to work with projects it doesn't matter if it's paid or free. Whatever helps me gets me to my next step can you provide me your thoughts on the best sites to get those skills set. Thank you very much!
Certifications are just a way to get pass through one of the filters of ATS. That's it. It won't help you in preliminary screening interview let alone in job
If certification wont do anything, atleast your knowledge and learning will increase and won't go in vain. Something is always better than nothing. Hands-on experience is must corresponding to certification
But now a days i do not see honesty in certification people just follow online questions dumps and clear the certification which makes me sad
Wow now I am relaxed.. thank you for valuable inputs and information.. keep going Rahul garu ❤..
My pleasure 😊
IMO certification keep me focus on learning cloud native platforms. Having a certificate helps me focused organized on the path of learning. It also help to add some weighted on your resume upto some extent when filtering algorithms.
Totally agree! But now a days a lot candidates are doing the certification just by reading only the dumps not even putting a effort to understand the topic
Yes I found the same especially since you don't know what you don't know. The learning path helped fill in my knowledge gaps and learn best practices .
@@RahulWaghagree , doing certs just by going through dumps … wouldnt take one far. In some cases it might fetch the job but survival would be tough. Rather I keep certs just as milestone for learning, IMO cert format must not be multiple choice rather be hands tasks example CKA or OSCP style :) . I am surprised to see many of them cracking AWS certs in 2 weeks or days made me wondered am I so bad at learning as it took 8 months through studying and getting AWS SAA , landed a job as SRE CloudOPS few months ago .. still there is so much I am learning everyday and also for concepts I have to watch your videos :) . I like your style of keeping it simple and also showing hand on. Which I think the best way to learn stuff by doing. Great work keep going 👍
@@chrisg5433100% it’s all about exposure and learning and implementing stuff. Most of the time I see it’s so much INPUT but no output then I feel you don’t retain that knowledge for very long. Keep learning and sharing , cheers! ✌️
@@RahulWaghI thought that's why people did cert studies, to gain knowledge. It's obvious yeah?
Im an architect with free certifications from my company.I have lot of certifications but each certification took me lot of time( minimum some month) to study from the ground basics because im not interested in the certification but more about the learning process and the technologies...your point is valdi
Thanks for sharing the experience. Now a days certification does not justify the effort we put in for its preparation
When sundar himself say's it , you better not question!
Hahaha
Great inputs..
Sir, I am having 3 yrs of exp as a Desktop Support Engineer.
Can you please guide, if going for RHCSA will be a good choice?
Yes.. RHCSA will help but better read book they provide that will help you to understand deeply.
Video then book then certificate cause book have many Linux topic in much more details
Read the topics and practice the topics rather then just buying the questions dumps online and then clearing the exam
@@RahulWagh Thank u sir for your guidance..
What if you are tired of your day job and want to switch roles/fields. I am technical engineer but I absolutely hate my job. I am sick and tired of it.😢…but I have an interest in AI so what do I do? Stay stuck?
No you should not stay stuck but rather start learning the AI. Do not learn AI just for the sack of clearing the certification but rather first focus on concepts and then do the certification.
I am currently working as a QA engineer, but I am looking to transition to a role as a data analyst or data engineer. Is this possible?
My whole point is people cheat in certifications using the dumps instead of practicing the concepts
@@RahulWagh yes. I think at one part the companies are also part of the issue where they force certifications. The cheating is known to providers and yet the silently allow as more people who pass means more business
Certifications are great before switching companies. 😊
Sure it gives you a vast amount of additional knowledge about a subject but nowadays it's mostly a money trap and a great business for organizations issuing them.
As a fresher with no experience, certifications atleast get your resume shortlisted
Yes off course if you have done the certifications honestly without cheating with the online dumps
Today's my exam hope i clear it
Eye opening video, thanks for the guidance
Glad it was helpful!
Glad to hear you know the reality. But I am not against certification if it is done honestly 😊
i m also thinking the same but company hire candidates who clear certification. they are asking for certification .
I always say do relevant certifications after working those concepts rather just reading the dumps
@@RahulWagh i have 1 yr experience as a aws cloud trainer but i have knowledge about basic services . i haven't any certification.i m preparing for interview to switch into industry ,which certification exam should i give?
Hii , Jospeh from Cameroon, i'm very impressive about your content!
Much courage
Awesome! Thank you!
Hi Sir what's you opinion on AWS-DevOps and how what need to learn for High packages and opportunities for mid-level candidates and can you make a video how can I happy USA Jobs in India and to do work in India only but pay must be USA salaries for Devops - AWS
can please make a video on S3
It is coming next week
If everything is a trap, what's not a trap then
Real projects which you build on aws and gain some serious experience by you own
The problem does lie on the certification.
Sir i am going to pursue AI and data science.I am completely beginner.Google and many more company offer data analytics certificate program.
At which stage do i need to focus on that certification.could you tell me your suggestion sir
Focus on data analytics along with python power bi. Specially sql and python for data science. AI is just an addon on top
You know, I never did a certification and I only did my own projects which are more powerful than all your projects in the company because in your company you guys are only writing simple API and services and storing data in the databases and I got a job at Amazon
You can not beat the real experience with certifications
Still redhat certificates still have reputation than aws.
Just i have started to work on action and k8 i am looking forward for the certification.
It will needed as Indian companies need k8 certification
My point is focus on certification which bring in value for your day to day job and do it honestly not just by buying online exam questions dumps and clearing the exam without even putting effort to learn the topic
Much needed video! :)
Glad to hear that
You hit the nail on the head 😊
I am just stating the reality
Honestly i thought this was Sundar Pichchai .Anyways ,your video was worth watching .Thanks 😊
No it is Rahul not sundar
Very insightful and inspiring
Glad you enjoyed it
No but recruiters are idiots - even if you have actual real life experience deploying apps on AWS and using various AWS products, if they don’t see some kind of AWS certification, many will end up overlooking you.
Yeah it is true but be honest about the certification if you do. Try to pass the certification not just by worshiping the online questions dumps because that would defy the purpose of certification. Learn the concept and then focus on clearing the exam by practicing it
2 min ke liye laga pixchai ka bhai😅
Nope not pichai I am 100% ssure

You are absolutely wrong, you are only talking in one perspective i.e., experienced person's one. Do not you think people of other backgrounds, college going kids, and even researchers wants to learn cloud computing. You have typical mindset like HR.
