Great stuff as always Brian! Man, your U-Haul rant was great and I can totally relate. I’ve loaded my mom’s Dodge caravan with all my stuff when I moved out, strapped my mattress to the top and moved it all into my current place. It feels so good looking back on that experience and imagining how much money I saved doing everything myself. Sure, it takes a bit of effort but it cost only cost me gas money and a few burned calories to make it work 😊 much respect to you brother!

My strategies for Breakdown;
Decide ASAP which characters you will take to next level, train them as much poss (dojo helps melee) ignore the rest.
Before moving to next level, swap to each character you are taking, get them a rucksack and expensive items and weapons to all of them. Next level you start zero influence, swap characters and drop all the stuff in locker and you're set with influence.
You can drop rucksack before a fight clicking "x" by default, pick them up later.
I'm on breakdown lvl 5 on a game started on 2021, played in 2023, checked recently and they still alive. If you have not too many people and outposts with income the community can live forever... so if your views drop or you get bored can live them idle and come back to them down the road...
The menus tell you everything you asked but you need to read the hud, is not very big or clear though have to look for it. Example the key for leapfrog unlocked for Gurubani, while cursor in on the leapfrog skill, click space for details says the hud on top, there it tells you the key to activate is "ctrl" by default.
I don't recommend rushing too much, it does get harder each level, noise becomes a real factor by lvl 4. There are more zeds, more freaks, less resources and fewer cars, Ray is great later on as you can. radio and he spawns a car near location but he's gone for you now, there's a chance the heroes reappear later though.
Good luck with the run and remember if it takes you long to get back to the game they can die, they don't have resources income right now.. Cheers!
My first reaction was "Is that Dave Batista?" But no, that's Brian "Chad" Menard dunking on more SOD Zombies.
That outpost thing was me. It might have only happened in the base game. But you were also able to empty a building and literally just drop any rucksack on the floor and then claim it as an outpost and you would get that resource. It was great. Empty house in a perfect spot to block hordes? Drop a fuel rucksack and now it's a fuel outpost.

Hi Brian, love your SoD content. I started playing Breakdown again and found out 2 things to mention. Gurubani can be called in after each level change for 10 (ten) infuence, so you can bring someone else instead via RV. 2nd is maybe even more interesting for you. Ninja or focus aim are nice, but this thing where you use less stamina in fights is awesome and I mean Sod 2 awesome. Try it, I bet you gonna love it. Btw your new thumbnails are awesome! Breaking down Ammorucks is a decent way to get loose bullets when your base ammo is allready good.
he's played SOD2 plenty of times, it's why he's playing 1
read the HUD if you wanna know how to do the special skills like leapfrog. not hard to do. the HUD will tell you when you hover over the skill.. read what it says. it says breakdown level 1 or higher. you can be lvl 2 and still unlock lvl 1 heroes.
Sorry about what happened with the RV. When you choose to leave on the RV click the option once, back out of that menu and go to your survivors menu and from there you can pick who you want to bring with you only 7 can go including Lily. From level 2 you can choose what base you can move into with the exception of the huge warehouse in Marshall and carnival grounds as they are for bigger groups of survivors and as long as you have enough materials, if you have no materials you can move into The Alamo it's a Mexican Restaurant facing the huge supermarket in Marshall, it's a free base.* EDIT- You need 20 materials for The Alamo and you went there. You have to go to the menu where you choose to make an outpost but instead choose make homebase. The longer you stay on the side of the road without a base your influence and material supplies are used up. From level 2 supplies and cars are no longer available and once you have unlocked a level you can choose to start a new game on whatever level you like. Spencer's Mill is one of the most dangerous places on the map so my advise would be to ignore the 2 bases there. In State of Decay Year One Edition, the zombies are very aware of sound so stand beside your car when you exit it as a whole horde could suddenly arrive once they hear that car door close.

You have to leave the map by activating the RV button in the base menue. Then you will be able to select 6 dudes plus Lily ( of course ). Afterwards you click the RV button to confirm to leave the map. Watch your vids,you already did it right in the past. Happend to everyone back when YOSE was new, at least once. SoD and its glitches and querks... LOL

First and foremost, I must point out that I enjoy your State Of Decay: YOSE videos. And yes I know people have different opinions.
I respectfully disagree with you on your opinion that State Of Decay 1 has "worse" fighting mechanics than State Of Decay 2.
The driving in State Of Decay 2, in my opinion, is also FAR worse than State Of Decay 1. I understand that Undead Labs wanted to make it as though time has progressed between 1 and 2, but the roads in 2 are so congested it takes forever to get from one point to another. Having to constantly slow down and weave through "junk" on the roads is annoying. Plus the vehicles don't feel like "real" vehicles in 2. If you take a square block and turn it in real life, that's how vehicles feel in 2, there is almost no actual physics in vehicles in 2. I remember you doing that delivery mission for Ray Santos in the base game and you were able to whip the car around and in circles, from what I've seen in 2 you can't do that.
I guess what I'm trying to say is everything in State Of Decay 1 is simple, whereas everything in State Of Decay 2 is far more complicated and confusing.
I do agree that both games have quite a bit of "random" missions from other survivors, but each game is completely different involving them. In 1 you can ignore one of these requests for 10-20 minutes and have almost no penalty for doing so. The person that gave the mission may be slightly peeved at you ignoring them but you can ALWAYS do other missions for them. State Of Decay 2 is completely different, you barely have 5 minutes to do this mission and if you don't do the mission they completely cut you off and refuse to deal with you again.
I'm not going to claim to be an expert at 2, but I did play it for many many hours a few different times and the game overall disappointed me severely.
Another thing, PLEASE fight Juggernauts with hand to hand combat. I've explained a simple way of doing it. Honestly I don't think I've ever died to a Juggernaut.

You lost me as a subscriber. Saying Starfield is a good game is straight pandering.
If you were to tell someone the same people who made Skyrim also made Starfield, they would look at you funny. That game was supposed to be Xbox's opus magnum. The advertisements for that game were the biggest thing in gaming. I'm sorry, but you have no idea. You played Starfield, but you don’t know the history behind the people who made it.
It's way bigger than the game simply being garbage. If you haven't played the Fallout series or Skyrim, you wouldn't understand the hatred for Starfield. The hate for Starfield is well-deserved, coming from a passionate gamer.
I mean you leaving and because i simply like a game says a lot about you as a person and as a subscriber so i don't feel like all that hurt. Your one of the people i was talking about its ok for you to have your opinion and not like the game but it's not ok for someone to have their own opinion and like the game? I'm not forcing you to like it but here you are pushing your opinion on others. Bro let people like what they like who cares no ones in your living room with a gun to your head forcing you to play it.
