Have 8k TV. It is visually identical to 4k unless you are _VASTLY_ too close to the screen. 4k is also very similar to 1440p if you are the _correct_ distance. In other words: it will look very similar. It's the HDR that makes it look amazing, not the resolution, beyond a point.

I love these videos! My only complaint is that I wish there were some sort of graphic in the corner telling you what place you're looking at. Some I can guess (gosh, that's Iceland again! ;) but in most cases I have no idea. A tiny bit of info would go a long way! :)

These are Some of the world's most beautiful locations. Most of us will only see them from your cameras. Perfect res. I just wish a quick caption of each location was shown, (like they did with the old “Earth Light” videos that the Space Shuttle crew took of Earth.) But, 10 out of 10 on this one. 🙏

I salute you for flying your hot air balloon , filming , and playing a piano / keyboard all at the same time in such a small confined space just to give us these breathtaking images , simply incredible. At 22.43 that was an extremely close call at the speed of what looks like a kittiwake shot past and would have downed you instantly if it had connected. 😄👌🐾
Is there a reason, why most relaxing videos - in general - cut after 12 to 20 seconds per shot? For me it takes like 5 seconds to get the scene and another 5 to dive into it. After that I'd like to enjot the scene for another 30 seconds. If all these videos were just slower - except the sound - that would be great. ... Besides - incredable work :D

The original video might have been shot in 12K or 16K, but once it's rendered and uploaded to TH-cam, the max playback quality is capped at 8K. TH-cam doesn't yet support resolutions higher than 8K, and even if they do, very few devices can actually handle such high-quality streams. Plus, bandwidth is a huge factor-streaming at higher resolutions takes a lot more data, which can be an issue for users with slower internet speeds.
Also, whether you can actually see the 8K quality depends on the screen you're using. For some videos, the option might still show up, even if your device can't handle it. But for heavier videos, where TH-cam's algorithm determines that your device can't handle the load, 4K will be the highest option available to you.

Many 8K videos don’t display the 8K quality option on my Dell/ASUS laptop (which has a 1080p screen), but they are available on my MacBook Pro, especially for 8K HDR content. Additionally, some older Mac models, like the MBP M2, may not show the 8K option by default when using Safari. So, it’s not “always.” It somewhat depends on the quality of the display panel your device has.
