    Now I have that much more respect for the operators that make cutting with those machines look easy!
    Thanks for the great explanation.

    Hello there cotontop. I would just like to thank you for these kind of videos. It got me ready and more comfortable running a feller buncher for the first time. Now I got a couple months on a 870c tigercat in canada. Love the content you created and keep up the good work. Have a great day.

    I am a big fan of Cotontop3 and TDK Logging and i have always wanted to know how the cutter works and to get on 1 and never operated it i bet i take 15 minutes to cut 1 tree my hat is off to you and your brother for remembering what all them buttons control. Be safe have a great day

    Great video. I'd love to try operating one of those. I'll never forget the first buncher that I saw as a kid. It was a wheeled drive to tree type. I loved equipment, but didn't know such a thing existed or what it did. I never realized that they had any faster way to cut a tree than with a chainsaw. Then I saw it drive up to a tree and zzzzing! I literally couldn't believe what I was seeing. It just seemed too awesome to be real.

    Man, 90,000 pounds is around 40 metric tonnes.
    No wonder those tracks can go down fast.
    Thanks for the lesson on the controls.

    Tim, what's the specific name for the operator's license (ticket) or course for a tracked feller buncher called? There is much information on the subject over here in the United Kingdom, and I want to get some tickets under my belt for a skidder and other machinery as I want to look for work over seas!

    • @cotontop3
      @cotontop3  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We don’t have to have a license here.

    • @jamesedwards6589
      @jamesedwards6589 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      cotontop3 so no training at all, just read the manual? I guess from my point of view, if I went a took training and got certified in the United Kingdom then in theroy getting a job doing what you do should be a walk in the woods! Pardon the pun. What's the call for forestry and logging jobs in America Tim? Is career that's easy to get into with plenty of job's or companies, or is not as much and hard to find work in the industry?

    • @cotontop3

      It's automatic on the 830. The 870 you can turn it on and off.
