    Thanks for the great video. I just picked up a gently used X6100 at the Rock Hill, SC hamfest this past Saturday. The guy said he used it only once and I believe it. It had the original FW. Your video was simple and straightforward and I had no issues with the process. Thanks for all your great hamtube work!

      What would you use the wifi for?

  • @HumanTimeMachine
    @HumanTimeMachine ปีที่แล้ว

    I have some questions about downgrading firmware. 1 can it be done? (because I want to try using the radio when the waterfall was edge to edge on the screen and because I/Q output is something I wanted to use which doesn’t appear in latest firmware. 2. Are there any downsides to using the earlier firmware? I don’t use Bluetooth and keyboards, I am more of a traditional radio user (CW and SSB), don’t use digital much. I have a weird question, whenever I close omnirig or HDSDR which uses omnirig. The radio goes into transmit a CW tone until I unplug usb c cable. (I don’t understand because the application is closed. So it just terminates with a key down? Have you ever seen this happen? Can it be fixed? At first I thought maybe stray RF but it happens when I close the app. I don’t transmit at any point while using hdsdr or omnirig. So why it goes into transmit after closing is beyond me

    • @temporarilyoffline
      @temporarilyoffline  ปีที่แล้ว

      1. Yes
      2. Whichever version of firmware makes you happy is the one to use.
      3. For TX after closing, I'd try to narrow the problem down to omni rig or HDSDR. Once you figure that out, reach out to the maker of those packages and see what they think. Its probably an easy software setting - esp if you try it with another radio.

      @@temporarilyoffline Just to say thanks for your excellent video and replying to my question so quickly. I have tried to update my X6100 firmware before, but I found the videos I watched didn’t match what I was trying to do.
