It's always hard to think when it classify's as retro because the time gap between now and mm9 was the same gap between when mm9 first came and mmX1. Also I just realized that X1 is almost thirty years old this month -_- I remembered first playing that game when it was only out for eight years old.

I still remember playing the demos of Mega Man 9 and 10 as a kid on the Xbox 360 arcade. Hard as hell games but still amazing.
