And not to forget: The stock grind is one of the worst I've ever experienced. Stock turret has 127mm of armor, gun does 140 dmg, it's the worst Tier VIII until it's fully upgraded.

I 3 marked the Cent 1 over a year ago and I think the largest problem was the frontal armor, not the gun handling. I won't complain about gun handling buffs, but the tank is so tall that you often have a tiny part of your hull sticking out. Even in hull down, T4 tanks would be able to pen the Cent 1, yet its a T8 tank. You can peak corners sideways to some effect, but if even the slightest bit of track is showing, you'll get penned + tracked. Front of the tank is like a German and Chinese tank combined. Every shot will damage your engine, ammo rack, kill a crew member, and sometimes all 3 at once. I was always losing DPM because of constant internal damage. The saying is supposed to go "Jack of all trades, master of none" but with tanks like Cent 1, it feels more like "Jack of no trades, master of none." It's slightly below average at everything. Nothing stands out.
Except the Comet makes low alpha work far, far better. I'd say the gun feels almost more like a high alpha Tier 6 gun at Tier 8... That really should be the stock gun.
This tank need upper plate buff , 17 pounder gun that deals 280 damage per shot , dpm buff , gun handling more buff , and a bit more accuracy to be competitive against WZ and the gang

I had some similar luck with my amx 30b. fully aimed shots missed more often than no aimed point the turret at target shoot right away snap shots - now in both cases I was using a stabilizer

So did the UDES 14 5, although people tout it for being an effective sniper. At this point, I think WG really has introduced a hidden shot distribution feature. If your shots are distributed more to the outer circle, you can have the most accurste gun in the game and still miss by a large amount. It's WG's way of saying "fuck you, pay us more money, but you'll still suffer because fuck you"
As many have pointed it out the dpm is not cool, considering the alpha, plus, despite being accurate on paper, it miss the center often. Also, the aiming time is an issue for me, because with such alpha it should be 2 or even less, 2.3 (without bonuses) feels awful. Still, out of the meta, obviously, but it is not a bad tank
If only this tank and the Fv4202 could have HESH as premium ammo, it would compensate the small alpha. Also, it would be fun without being OP since the reload is really long.
Something like 175mm of pen, 300 alpha dmg would be fine. The DPM with HESH would reach 2500, with lower pen to balance the relatively high accuracy, it would work.... The AT7, which has the same gun with ''AT'' in the gun description, would keep the APCR prem ammo to prevent its DPM to go trough the roof. A simple, yet effective idea, imho.
To me Centurion line was a cursed line. Up to the Comet it was pretty nice. I grinded it when Crusader was still there in medium tree. Crusader was fine, if unremarkable. Cromwell was absolutely fantastic beast of a tank. Comet was a versatility incarnate - comfortable tank to play. Not as fast or agile as Cromwell, but with decent gun, fantastic gun depression and comfortable enough stats. I was doing pretty fine on those tanks. And suddenly Centurion happens, instant 3-5% winrate drop - you have horrible front hull - with monster of an ammo rack out there, underwhelming DPM and alpha, unreliable turret armour, WORSE DPM by over 300... And Centurion is a HUGE target. The mobility used to be horrible, but now it is not so bad. The only really decent thing is that silver ammo pen is actually quite solid. Centurion 7/1 is not exactly much of an improvement either - you get slightly better upper plate, but it is inadequate on tier 9 anyway. DPM is still worse than on Comet. And mobility is not so great either. Action X - in comparison to predecessors it looks like a beast of an upgrade, but compared to other tier 10 tanks... it is not BAD, but it is not fantastic. Same miserable hull as on tier9, turret armoru is redesigned but not really improved - it still eats virtually anything. It is infinitely superior to FV4202, which was horrible (and worst of all, stats I had on it carried to Action X - damn BS), but it still is just vastly unremarkable - it is kind of like... slightly less snapshot oriented and more accurate Patton with inferior turret.

The gun operates like the British QF75 & 17lb. It has visible trajectory, vehicles at different altitudes require different leading - and if they move forward / backward it's super easy for the gun to troll with dirt shots or high and wide even if you haven't moved. For me, it works best in platoons. On its own the armour and alpha means nobody fears you and you'll get rushed by heavies, mediums and TD's that have even a modicum of frontal armour - while derpy guns will ruin your ammo rack.
Moving from a 1080 to a 7900XT is not a "tiny touch better," lol. Overkill for the game you play, but nice to have for sure. Looks great, and it should last you another decade for WOT.
this tank didn't changed that much, I remember how horrible it was, I marked it as a light tank, running cvs low noise and optics, didn't cared about gun since it have impossible to make it acceptable anyway
Nearly every damage roll with this tank is below the 230 av damage level, it constantly low rolls, and in return you get hit for 400 plus, the tank needs a proper rework.
My baboon king, I really enjoyed FV anytime I got bad day, but Centurion oh boy, no way. But I recently played Udes 16 and wonder if you could have a spin with that vehicle too, Mouzacrobat said recently it's not that bad as the memories were, I wonder, what you commentary would be like.

I agree this tank was a big disappointment 4 me, but I disagree with Skills Argumentation. The platform was ok decent turret armor, 10 degree gun depression, good standard pen, good view range.The immense problem 4 me was the horrible gun handling...
Skieelll I completely understand ur argument about platform, however Tier9 and 10 are NO different speaking about the hull. Upper plate is always ezz pen regardless what tier u play. Other then that, people might forget/underestimate how good the centurion turret is for its tier. Actually the tier 8 turret is the exact same as the turret of tier9. So turret is great. Speed is average. Really, Imo it is only the gun that needs buffing. Not just gun handling but DPM as well. I mean u have 230 alpha dmg which your enemies will barely even feel so yeah.

Though even looking at the stats, Centurion is better or pretty much equal at everything besides turret dispersion, premium pen, hull armor and camo, last two not being really relevant. Comparing to M26, Centurion's turret can actually bounce something, it has way better standard pen and accuracy and only a bit lower alpha dmg. For me Pers was just a miserable credit sink.

I had fun with it (fully upgraded of course).. way way better than the Pershing could hope to be. Not really a keeper though. There are like a dozen better premium meds on tier 8, and I'd rather play those. Now the grind to the Cent 7/1 105mm gun is something else

I played with the STOCK Centurion 1 long time ago(It was my worst Wolrd Of Tanks experience so far...) to grind for the Centurion AX and after 6-7 battles, I skipped this tank with free XP.... Iam a super patient player and I grinded T-44 stock to fully upgraded it was also sh...t but I had the patience to grind it without using any free XP, because that tanks was moore enjoyable than Centurion 1. Same with the T-54 stock all the way up to maximum without free XP.
In your case cpu is visibly a much bigger bottleneck than gpu. Just looking at the fps change as the gpu you've gotten is way overkill for wot so your fps should have been way higher which means your cpu is lagging behind the graphic card.
This tank is slow as hell for a medium, has low alpha and terrible accuracy for the gun, a really long reload and useless armor. Yeah, i think all it needs is a bit less dispersion!
If the reload time would've been lowered to let's say 5, it would be a fun tank to play But the horrible damage and in combination with around 7 seconds of reloading... it's hell, believe me, kinda regret going on this line
Yeah RX 7900XT is just a couple percentage points better than the GTX 1080ti. Such a slight performance upgrade is not even worth the effort of replacing the GPU. (It's meant as a joke.)

Cent 1 hull is just too garbage. Can't even fully depress the gun and bounce with the hull. Wargaming didn't buff the worst part, the tank is still 1 star

Combination of average and poor qualitys. Low alpha with huge paper hull, low speed and low dpm. I hated this tank almost as much as i hated comet. This was my first tank line i started to play back in the day before the turret buffs. Yes the turret was like 150mm frontaly and almost auto pen for all tier 7 tanks. Even now you need 260 pen and the front of the turret left and right of the gun is easy pen for high pen tier 8 and all tier 9 tanks.
I have been playing this tank for more than 4 years and I normally get 2k-5k combined dmg It has good view range, okay speed, good pen and dpm, and the tracks can bounce
the most horrible thing about this tank is not about stats, armor, or anything else can affect gameplay, this tank is SHIT because GUN SOUND ! Its sound so damn underpowered when using 75 76mm gun sound instead of 85 and above caliber for the 20pdr gun, even tho Cent1 is an tier 8 with average 230 alpha ?!? How can a 20pdr (84mm) use 75mm gun's sound while T-34-85 with its 85mm gun have same sound with 90mm gun and above ?!?!?!?!?!?

In the 2nd game the baboon in the UDES did zero damage despite surviving the battle. Wonder if it was because Skill was on the other team.

Gun is horrible even after buff. The pp feels impotent when shooting altho shell velocity on paper is not that bad. Turret for me worked pretty good.

There is better meduim tanks in game it just have good AP pen rest is meh.
Just buy Charlotier this its way better - medium - tank,faster,more dpm,more dmg,better gun/pen.

Cent 1 hull is just too garbage. Can't even fully depress the gun and bounce with the hull. Wargaming didn't buff the worst part, the tank is still 1 star

i play this kako last week and it si crazy horible , one of the worst tier 8 for me . Low alpha and gun is not good .

This was my first Tier 8 tank in the game XD

Combination of average and poor qualitys. Low alpha with huge paper hull, low speed and low dpm. I hated this tank almost as much as i hated comet. This was my first tank line i started to play back in the day before the turret buffs. Yes the turret was like 150mm frontaly and almost auto pen for all tier 7 tanks. Even now you need 260 pen and the front of the turret left and right of the gun is easy pen for high pen tier 8 and all tier 9 tanks.
I have been playing this tank for more than 4 years and I normally get 2k-5k combined dmg
It has good view range, okay speed, good pen and dpm, and the tracks can bounce
Soon they will nerf it

the most horrible thing about this tank is not about stats, armor, or anything else can affect gameplay, this tank is SHIT because GUN SOUND ! Its sound so damn underpowered when using 75 76mm gun sound instead of 85 and above caliber for the 20pdr gun, even tho Cent1 is an tier 8 with average 230 alpha ?!? How can a 20pdr (84mm) use 75mm gun's sound while T-34-85 with its 85mm gun have same sound with 90mm gun and above ?!?!?!?!?!?
