Totally agree that I don't think I actually like sad books! Real life can be sad enough sometimes; when I read, I just want something that's ultimately heartwarming.
lol for me it’s the opposite 😭 i enjoy reading sad books when life feels miserable because they usually make me more grateful about life and more optimistic about my own problems :)
All the bright places was SOO good! I personally love sad books though so ofc it will get a high rating from me. I feel like in order for me to love a book it has to make me feel something and sad books + thrillers just do that for me. Two of my favorite books were also "If he had been with me" and "a thousand boy kisses" so you can kinda see a pattern lol.
It's great that you discovered a new book, and it also turned out to be a new favorite. I love it when I can't stop thinking about a book. That means that you enjoyed it. Riley picked some good books.
Riley you did it again! I just saw that you got Ali Red Rising for her birthday. I love Red Rising. Have you read it? It seems like you read a good variety of books. I do too.
Honestly this video is just what I needed today!! I’ve had a really rough week with sleepless nights and my husband being sent to the hospital. It’s been a long stressful week. 😔 I love your videos and this was just what I needed when I got up today! Thanks for being such a sweet down to earth book girlie and making such fun videos. 💜💜💜 Side note: You’ve now convinced me to read Project Hail Mary and All the Bright Places. 😅
As the bestfriend from the video that gave her the books..... You should ABSOLUTELY read Project Hail Mary! Lol, I hope things start getting better for you soon. Stay strong! ❤️
Love ur videos girl. U inspired me to read books 📚 . Luv ur content i find myself daily watching ur vids ❤. U gave a lot of book recommendation to read . Thank u girly
Project Hail Mary is SO GOOD as an audiobook !!!! I listened to it at the beginning of the year and I’m still thinking about it a lot, I love it so so so much
Rocky on audiobook is fantastic! I would listen to the audibook again just to hear him. The science went over my head too and at time was confused but for the gist of it. So good!
I need sad books because they help me get my feeling out of me (same for music and movie/tv). I have a really hard time with letting my feelings out on my own so help like that really does it for me
I haven’t gotten to the reading portion yet but all the bright places got me through my teens it truly was everything to me I’d re-read it 5 times a year no joke. Okay thank god you loved it 😂❤
AHHH! WE’RE A DAY APART FROM BEING BIRTHDAY TWINS!!🥳 My birthday is May 10th! Also, I LOVED LOVED LOVED LOVED All The Bright Places!! It’s definitely in my top 5 favorite books. The book was an eye opener and changed the way I perceive things in life as of today. I really loved the way the characters were written and how it shows that you can find happiness and beauty in the most simplest things.🥹💗
I’m so glad you loved all the bright places! It’s one of my favourite books ever! Unfortunately the author based finch on a friend she had who also went through the same thing which makes it even more heartbreaking 😢
If you want more sci-fi to read you should read renegades by Marissa meter, Red Rising by Pierce Brown, and The Light at the Bottom of the World by London Shah. These are some of my favorite sci-fi if you haven’t read them yet I highly suggest you do!
I do like sad books in the lightly sad range😹 like an emotional romance with some sad aspects. I love when a book makes me cry. But I agree that I don't want alllll the hard stuff from te real world in my books
This is a video i didn't knew I needed. I'm proud of the efforts you put into making these videos for us✨ It's literally 1am here and I'm still going to watch this.... Love from India 🇮🇳
Hi Ally! I love your content! You have given me so many book recommendations in the past and I can’t thank you enough!! Keep up the good work girly!! ❤️🫶❤️
Highly recommend becky chambers for Sci fi! The Monk and robot duology is great audio picks. But I have really loved buddy reading the Long Way to A Small Angry Planet series with my friend! Found family on a space ship 🚀
I have bad mental health due to BPD so I avoid books that the main focus is sadness cause it really makes me depressed for a while but I can read books with sad elements as long as it has a happy ending
I love sad books! That being said, I also need to have sprinkles of hope throughout. My bsf knows that I require traumatized characters to love a book lol On a side note, your jewelry hanger is so cute! 🌸
Personally, I love books that destroy me emotionally. I must say, I do have to surround the hard reads with lighter, fluffier books and I try to avoid them when I myself am not mentally in the best place. But for the most part, if a book makes me cry, the star rating shoots up.
i love your videos, I think thanks to your videos i got my favorite book of the year, do i need to read that si-fi book? The second book reminded me of More Happy then Not and I HATED That book ....
I'll be honest with you. I hate sad books. If there is like way too many things that are going wrong, I cannot read it. But All The Bright Places is just.....it's really good. It made me cry so very hard.
I'd have loved Project Hail Mary had I not read The Martian first, and probably vice versa. In MY opinion, Andy Weir wrote essentially the same thing twice. I loved Rocky so much though, but I think he was definitely necessary as well to separate the two books from one another. And I know this is an unpopular opinion because I see no one talking about this 🤣
Guys ,I really really and really request you not to read "All the bright places" if you had significant suicidal urges or you have suicidal thoughts (just my personal opinion)

I've never heard a more accurate quote "i would lay down my life for Rocky" AMEN SISTA 🙏🏻❤️
I love a sad book, I love anything that makes me feel something deeply.
especially horne
Totally agree that I don't think I actually like sad books! Real life can be sad enough sometimes; when I read, I just want something that's ultimately heartwarming.
Honestly, same. as soon as I find out a book is sad I’m already canceling the book lol
lol for me it’s the opposite 😭 i enjoy reading sad books when life feels miserable because they usually make me more grateful about life and more optimistic about my own problems :)
all the bright places used to be my favorite book when i was younger, it has such a special place in my heart 💕

this was one of your best videos yet! it was so honest & i‘ve already read the 2 books, that‘s probably why i could relate a lot🥰
The queen has posted
The second books reminds me a little of the MaleMale(BL) Korean Drama "Love for Love's Sake".
Loved this video!! And I added project Hail Mary to my tbr☺️💕
yay! i’m excited to watch as always!👏🏽💗

Fun video!

I love your book videos, you should do a thrift shopping book video though I’ve noticed you haven’t done that kinda video yet .
Ooo I love that idea!! Thank you 💗
@@JustAli your welcome. I always find Emily griffin or JoJo Moes books when I’m thrift shopping 🛍️. I recently thrift a Lucy Foley book 📖.
I feel like wether i enjoy a sad book or not really depends on my reading mood :)
We love this ❤❤❤ these videos are so fun! I’m sending you all love (:

You should try Uglies by Scott Westerfield for a good beginner psyfi
