Tiny tips. You didn't verbally specify filter type and you can post the Vallhalla patch as a small text file, that can be pasted into people's VRs. The option is in the onboard preset manager menu.
Separate video for those pads and layers plzzz? Those grabbed my attention more than the lead lol great video though, always helping and inspiring meh sound design
Beautiful Work. I have an obsession with this sound, I think I've tried to recreate it on everything from Serum to Ableton Analog with sometimes good results at other times less. This video I think is one of the closest results to the original ever heard.
Hey Tom, thank you for all these tutorials. One of rare channels that actually was huge help, not to exaggerate but probably best synth maker i stumbled upon youtube. Motivated me to back off all these presets and actually try to make something myself, still early but i believe it will be big changer in my music.
Thanks for the Tutorial! The synth sounds great! I have all your plugins except decapitator and Diva so I used Serum for the synth and SoftTube's Tape for saturation. In Serum I went to Global and changed the Unison mode to "Super" to try and emulate the super saw sound and then gave both saws 7 voices but only detuned them by .06 each (while still keeping the original detune by about 2 or 3 cents). It sounds thicker but still has a retro sound to it in my opinion.
"I know that Stranger Things is coming up soon, so uh.. yeah.." had me laughing :D Seriously though, Stranger Things synth tutorial would be awesome! Great stuff, keep up the good work :)
I've been searching and searching on how to actually create this whole piece of music lead sound background sounds the atmosphere everything is there anyway you can make a video like this I know that's probably asking a lot cannot find it anywhere
6:06 for me the filter is slowly closing instead of slowly opening like it does on yours. I've replicated all your settings i think, what am I doing wrong?
you have to invert the envelope, i don't have diva but on the picture it seems like for the "ENV 2" amount, you can turn it plus or minus, so to solve your problem turn that fully in the opposite direction
Used Arturia's Pigments to recreate this (to the best of my beginner ability). It seems to me the key recognizable "ingredient" to this sound is the automated detune. In my case I used LFO1 at 2Hz controlling 0.12 (semitones) of the Fine Tune of the Engine 1.
I love this. I think the low notes are especially impressive, with that vibrato effect. I was able to recreate it following this tutorial although I've been doing sound design for only about 3 days, so thank you! Does anyone know exactly which track from the Blade Runner soundtrack features this kind of synth? Or when it appears in the movie?
Hey man love the sound you 110% nailed it. May I make a small recommendation, I appreciate that you started the video with the example of the sound, but I would def. recommend to go with dialing in oscillators first (ADSR if needed) and then filter, cutoff reso and then ADSR as well so the core of the sound is built upfront. This helps those looking for the core as well as others learn how sound design works incrementally. Thanks again so much man, you nailed the sound! Subbed I look forward to you growing :)
Great content on your channel. I heard the song "Boombox Cartel -Phoenix" recently and thought the de-tuned lead would be a great sound for you to tackle. It's not like anything I've heard. (Serum would be great...)
Great but im looking for some way to set up this sound on my Korg M3 or Roland Fantom X6 😕 trying to find old analog synths is impossible as they are all selling for ££££££’s now 🤷🏻♂️
It will lack some of the subtle characteristics that make this sound analog, but you can achieve the basic sound by applying the same oscillator settings, filter cutoff automation, vibrato etc.. especially since the sound is drenched in reverb anyway!
hmm, the end result sound nothing like your intro, I didn't rally learn how to create the sound. Seems you missed out all the fx processing, would be cool to see that.

How about all the atmospheric stuff behind the mix?
Wow. That sounds very much like the original sound. Got goosebumps during the intro of the video.
Btw, thank you synth hacker, your tutorials are incredibly useful for an aspiring producer. I've learnt a lot from your guides.
Yes this dude is great.
Same here.. incredibly spot on
One of the greatest OST ever made. Good work Tom
you nailed this, man. Blade runner has the best soundtrack and sound design. Period.
Separate video for those pads and layers plzzz? Those grabbed my attention more than the lead lol great video though, always helping and inspiring meh sound design

Appreciate it! Hope you found it helpful!
Literally sounds exactly like it holy shit

Already did the Blade Runner synth in TAL U-NO-LX but it never fails to impress me. Also Diva is a beast.

It's great that you write the summary in description. It's very helpful.

Woah thats cool. Nice to see some Tutorials that are more movie score based.
Would be nice if u would also show how to make some sounds from Blade Runner 2049 soundtrack. Especially from track "Sea Wall"

Wow this is even better than the movie itself
I think using pwm modulation like vangelis would get you even closer and a 224 lexicon reverb emulation !
You are a GENIUS!!! Thank you sooo much for this tutorial!!! Vangelis for the win!!!
Nice tuto Tom, you're the man!
Amazing tutorial! Very clear! thanks!
Brilliant!!!
Excelente experiencia musical. Así como los dos films. Fantástico
@4:29 LOL

Sounds wicked
Awesome man, I loved it!

Main Titles
Awesome bruh, thanks.
Nailed it!!
Amazing
Just finished sound design.. Can you share the note progression plz.. :)
Awesome project, would also love to see the intro track from Blade Runner 2049.
do the midi files hold the automation or do have to have the project file for that?
hi, great work!
i would love tutorials to create sounds from Blade Runner 2049.
Please can you do a tutorial like 'the end' by Eptic....please
Can you do a video on Flume’s song Hyperreal? I think that would be super interesting!
Is the base at the beginning just the lead played in lower notes?
6:52, moving the modwheel doesnt do it for me? i dont understand, please help

Fuck.. me... that sounded PERfect.
Legend!
Hey can u pls teach us how to make Birdy Nam Nam - "Goin' In (Skrillex Goin' Hard Mix) pluck sound..
Diva is extremely powerful
Great but im looking for some way to set up this sound on my Korg M3 or Roland Fantom X6 😕 trying to find old analog synths is impossible as they are all selling for ££££££’s now 🤷🏻♂️
Is there a way we could buy the ableton file?
Holy shit that’s pretty accurate
VanJelis?
I feel so dumb :(
Great tutorial !
I can't get it to sound like this in Massive. I'm not even close to be an expert but somehow even the saw waves alone sound different :/
Ah! Is the first BWAAAA sound also the lead? My ears are so bad at times
Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuk 💥👀
As a noob, is this achievable with Serum ? (since that's the only synth I own)

Please add subtitles in Portuguese.
This one is actually better than the original lel

Rutger Hauer >observer_ the best game 2017
Your cover of the theme sounds great. But the sound you create with Diva in the video...doesn't sound like that.
Geez what the fuck was that click
