Fun little fact Kanami the lead guitarist writes the music for the band with input from Misa (Bass) and Akane (drummer) then finalizes it. She usually tries hard to ensure the they get a large part of the action. This song is a goof example. Bass plays a big part.

Japan in general has a different bass culture than we do, they really enjoy their slapping in there. Check out multiple bass covers made by Japanese on YT and you notice that slapping and pulling the string with you finger so it snaps back at the pickup is everywhere.
Japan has different musical culture that's separated from the west and Europe and that's a great thing. They make stuff that's sounds like them.
I recommend Don't You Tell Me live because it has a great back and forth between the bass and lead guitar. I found out about this band in January and can't stop listening to their music.
My favorite MISA song : play, dice, turn me on, flying high.

Yep, we all felt that love at first sight with MISA and her bass.
"So perfect" is a common expression when someone refers to Band-Maid.
Simply the best Rock band on the planet. Every member of the band brings something unique in playing style but, together, they are an unstoppable force. They don't do polite intros but just slam you back in your seat as they come roaring out of the gate. Basically, they are Led Zeppelin for the 21st century (I saw them in 79 but have yet to see this brilliant band...yet. Talking of Zeppelin, Jimmy Page went to see them in concert and went backstage to tell Akane, the drummer, that she was up there with Bonham. Can't think of a better compliment on her skills. There's a couple of amusing and interesting clips of Miku, the ridiculously gorgeous rhythm guitarist, backing vocalist and creator and founder of the band, giving her always mesmerisng mid concert 10 minute chat to the audience. It gives you a glimpse of how relaxed and lacking in ego these women are, the way they all interact with the audience while relaxing - in the middle of a concert. Yeah you will usually see that pint bottle of Jim Beam on top of her rack. By this time it's about half empty. I watched and measured the bottle through the World Domination Tour MV, to see how much of it she had drank during the concert-between songs when the lights are down you see her going back like she is adjusting the amp and grabbing the bottle. roflmao ; )
There is one video out there where it shows Misa drinking.....water. Surprised the heck outta me, but its true!

This is a band that should only be seen on a live stage it is such a juxtaposition from their cookie cutter MV's ... Their live performances always leave you thirsty for more.
Most of the live videos floating around are not official videos but ripped from their Blu-Ray/DVDs.

You have not seen anything yet. Seriously, you need to check out the live videos of Take Me Higher, Turn Me On, and Don't You Tell ME! Then to cleanse the palate, you should watch The Rock In Me live. That video features rhythm guitarist Miku Kobato singing lead and being as kawaii as BabyMetal.
Babymetal opened the door for japanese music outside Japan, after that many reactors noticed awesome bands, you got Bandmaid but as a perfect combo i suggest Lovebites with "when destinies aligne" and i can say that you will "shit your pants" :P Jokes apart there are sooooo many all female groups to suggest but better going step by step :D

MTH often get compared to System of a Down in style but have a way of their own. They often go totally haywire with mixing styles and also their drummer Nao is one of the big inspirations for Band Maid drummer Akane.
Would you like another bass queen? Check out Doll$boxx. I suggest the songs "Take My Chance" and "Shout Down".
Also give Gacharic Spin a go, they are the same band as Doll$boxx minus the singer.
Then there is the old guard of Japanese Hardrock/Metal in the band Ningen Isu. Try "Heartless Scat" or "Namahage"! These guys have been around for quite a while and are just now getting more recognition internationaly which they deserve every single bit of!!
