I’d like to add something for people looking for another boat other than Deckster: go for the Hermes. Lunar Bow is really disappointing. Hermes is a lot better to trawl, makes a lot more money.

i know this video is older. But watching this helped a lot. More important to watch net symmetry. I was constantly trying to turn into to fish and not having any luck. Setting an auto pilot course and making sure your net opening is perfect is far more effective. Even if there isn't much displayed on the sonar.
If your new to the game the hermes now only needs the doors to be 100m deep. Also add to your scanmar display CTRL this will let you raise and lower your lines whilst in scanmar on console you use the sticks. You can steer with the thrusters.

On Barents Sea, this was always 50/50...I would have ideally the right depth and 20m of difference. Sometimes my entire net would fill up in 5 mins or less and there wouldn’t even be a school of fish..other times I’d see schools everywhere and not got a single fish. Idk if it’s the same in North Atlantic or not
It can be. I have had those days where it just seems to take forever. But I have over 200 hours played in both barents sea and north Atlantic and it doesn't seem quite as often in north atlantic.

They're still seasons in the game so you have to keep changing what you're doing. This is the biggest trawler but when the season is up for those fish you have to switch out for like a crab boat or lobster boat. There's no one boat that can do everything. The Hermes is a great boat for deepwater fishing but if the fish are in water that's less than 200m deep I have to use a different boat because the Hermes can only set it's net in water that's 200m deep or more. But if it's tuna or swordfish season you need a totally different boat again because they can only be caught with a harpoon or deep line buoys. So the boat you use and the fish you catch changes depending on what time of year it is.
Not really. It all depends on how rough the seas are. You can manually adjust the speed but you'll be doing it constantly. What I tend to do in rougher water is set the speed a couple knots under where I want it because the waves will usually increase your speed by a couple knots to compensate.
It's going to because the ocean moves and waves sometimes offer greater resistance and sometimes less. The best thing to do is set the cruise around 1 to one and a half knots above minimum trawl speed and it will stay in an acceptable range.
No. No mods here. I have a pretty high-end computer though with a top-of-the-line graphics processor so all the video settings in my games are set to their highest settings. Maybe that's why.

Here's the thing about bugs. They get fixed. This video is 9 months old. I haven't experienced any of the bugs from this video since. And I still enjoy the game despite the bugs. But hey, thanks for the view.

Always do a manual save before heading back to port. Also, I have 2 small ships and both have insurance.

I started playing a couple of weeks ago. lovin it. whilst trawling i use the thrusters to chase the fish so you can stay on the school longer.

You have to go back to port and select the "repair gear" option. For a hefty fee.
That is NOT a 'Boat' , that is a SHIP.
A ship cannot fit in a boat , a boat CAN fit on a ship.
