    Okay, I just picked one up after watching your review. It's amazing. I was totally surprised at how comfortable it feels in the hand. What really sold me was that you said there was no hot spots after extended use, despite the bow drill divot. You were 100% spot on - White River did an amazing job machining that area to make it feel...dare I say...soft. Thanks for making this video!

    I received mine today. It is a beautiful knife and the box/presentation is exceptional. I think it is well worth the purchase price. I guess I was lucky because they sold out the day after I ordered mine.

    Tim, really enjoyed your review of this knife. You're becoming one of my favorite channels to watch for this type of content. I want mention the other channel I watch regularly but he won't do a bow still demonstration when reviewing this type of knife. I enjoyed how your inserted the clip for the bow drill demonstration without audio. It really was a good way to tie everyting together in the video😀

    Nice review! I think you should try to use the fire steel divot, by holding the knife with the edge towards you and letting the divot (pointing away from you) focus the sparks on the tinder.

    Excellent knife, love the reverse tanto tip and the not too thick blade stock. My only concern is the handle, not the thickness but I find it too 'straight'. Having the handle slightly te curved would mean being my go-to. As it is, it skips my rotation 😕

    I feel the notch is there so you can sharpen up the edges if a lot of fire striking erodes it.

    I have both fc 3.5 and the 5, the 3.5 worked well with starting fires, making fire sticks, I used a bigger feracium rod that's wider as well works alot better than what they give you. You also have more room to work with..good for small work, I liked it so well I bought the fc 5 and I'm looking to test it out, it definitely looks like you can build a shelter with it if you have to.

    This is a nice looking knife! I'm a big fan of the 5" survival blade, that length is the sweet spot for me when it comes to knives I bring into the field with me (camping, exploring, etc.). The only issue I think I would have is the small handle. I have larger hands, too, and some knives just don't fit. As for just about the perfect knife for me is the LT Wright Forest Trail. That baby fits perfectly in my hand!

      I bought one and it's worth it. It is expensive but I took this knife on 10 camping trips and used it for all my bushcrafting and it held up. Took some time to sharpen it again but not anything to cry about.

  • @lynnmasoner7627

    Thanks for the review Tim. I have an observation on the bow drill divot. As I am right handed like you, is it possible to have the company move the divot to the other side so that it doesn’t dig into your hand? I mean that is a great left handed knife but could they make it for right handed people? I would love to have one of them, but I don’t want something that would become uncomfortable to me over time. The only fixed blade I currently own is a Navy K-Bar that my father gave me. It is still in fairly good shape but isn’t made for bush crafting. Thank you again for your time and energy on making these informative videos and your honest feedback.

      @MrTietzj3 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lynn Masoner we don't want someone using it with the blade twards themselves. Even though it can be used in the sheath, alot will use it woithout the sheath.

    • @lynnmasoner7627
      @lynnmasoner7627 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jason Tietz Jason thanks for the response. But being right handed I always turn the blade away from my body and I never grab a bare blade. But I was just curious if it was possible or could it be special ordered that way?
