When you teach bass this is an almost inevitable song for your lessons.
It was released in 1967 on Creams second studio album "Disraeli Gears".
"Sunshine of Your Love" began as a bass phrase or riff developed by Jack Bruce after having seen a Jimi Hendrix concert. Eric Clapton said in a 1988 Rolling Stone magazine interview:
He [Hendrix] played this gig that was blinding. I don't think Jack [Bruce] had really taken him in before ... and when he did see it that night, after the gig he went home and came up with the riff. It was strictly a dedication to Jimi. And then we wrote a song on top of it.
The riff is based on a minor pentatonic scale with an additional flattened 5th, also referred to as "blues scale". This is a perfect example on how to use the "blues scale" for building licks and riffs. Simple but effective and catchy. And thus the song hasn't lost it's magic even after over 50 years.

Very well put together & presented.
I did not know there was a 9/7 slide there. I will try it out next time I play it.

Well! This is a good one. Along with Gordon Peterson's "Hard sun" (not a new tune by any means) you make my day. Thanks. Stay safe. BTW how about your own rendition of this Indio tune? Is it too much to ask? Great poetry.

It sounds good, but I play it differently

With all due respect that is way wrong. That doesn't match the studio, Winterland, Detroit Grande Ballroom, Oakland, or Club Revolution

I think Tom once played an open E when the song was drop d tuning and caught a lot of heat for that. If this cover is as egregious, Ok. Most of this channel’s subs are not great musicians and aren’t here to compare against original recording. Just happy to have ANY tabs for some of these tunes. ;).

@@JNACOV I've subsequently thought on this a good deal. I'm not quite sure how to phrase this... I am very much a beginner. But I play Sunshine exceptionally well, to the point where accomplished musicians go Holy Shit! But! BUT! You are entirely right, and I was an ass. My guitarist pointed out that a lot of bassists just need enough to fake it through a set and sound good enough that the audience easily understands what they're doing, without going full on cover band. And this tab helps them accomplish that, and more knowledge and more options are a good thing. My apologies

@@Hombre944 Thanks for explaining. I played sax in high school and at St. John’s many years ago. I read charts. Always impressed by people that can listen and reproduce the notes. I can’t. I am trying bass late in life. Took a few lessons and my instructor suggested Jack Bruce because, well, his work is classic and easy enough for a beginner to tackle. I give almost everybody a thumbs up for helping the community.

@@JNACOV I'm not intentionally an asshole. Everyone has a gift in life. Unfortunately I seem to have been given a double dose of that one lol.
I have a published Cream bass tabs book (I think Jack may have helped with it... He did a video for the same outfit). I use that as my base, then try to figure out some of his custom fills, and go from there.
