4:00 is called Tani Otoshi in Judo and is dangerous as fuck. Please make sure you're being controlled with it and sweep both legs so you don't destroy your opponent's knee.
Different mechanics imo. With the throw Nicky is showing all he is doing taking his partner’s weight across his knee while Nicky’s hips block the bottom torso and then throwing. The way I see it in Tani Otosho is that there’s much more space between partners and the thrower often uses the foot in a fast motion to block/move the opponents legs. That extra space can create more variability for an opponents leg to move wrong along with the sweeping motion which is much more dynamic.
@@Joyceages I see what you're saying, the problem with "sitting" your partner into it is that you're also putting pressure on the nearside leg, making it go inward. There's a Shintaro Higashi video on it that goes pretty deep on the throw. Don't get me wrong, being a Judo guy it's one of my favourite counter / sacrifice throws, but in BJJ people usually aren't taught how to fall properly so it's definitely in the Kani Basami territory (not nearly as bad obviously).
@@PhnXFire2k23 Thanks, I’ll check out Shintaro’s video on it. Makes sense especially since most Jiu Jitsu gyms don’t start nearly as much on the feet as they should with many neglecting to have students master break falls or teaching at what point in a throw you have to accept being thrown. Appreciate the info.
Nicky Rod knows Nicky Rod is an excellent wrestler! There’s a kid on TH-cam who offers $1000 to anyone who can take him down. He’s a damn good wrestler, but I think Nicky Rod could take him🎉
As a white belt, I watch these techniques so I can get ahead of my opponents and understand what I'm tapping to.
nicky rod is a poet
training partner is the B-Team Placeido 😂
Freddie’s more like Bteams version of Sonny.

"Build a strong defense." I've been doing that through white to blue. "The offense will come." Solid advice 🤙
He speaks English so well
apart from bragging when shirtless, that was uncannily mature for a nicky rod video
