For all the weapons in ds2 with horrendous tracking, have you tried attacking an enemy while locked on and then removing your finger from the left stick?
Cathedral Knight Greatsword does striking damage, unlike many of the other UGS so It’s strong against many of the bosses in DS3. It also has a unique true combo which is very consistent and does more damage than the typical UGS combo (specific to that sword) and isn’t shared with any other UGS. It ain’t the best UGS but by far my favorite in any souls game and I don’t think it deserves to be at the very bottom. I know you said not to take anything seriously but I just thought I’d throw this out there
i do have one critique about halfway through good stuff so far. but the tracking issue you had is forf all of DS2 for some reason it has a hybrid of tracking locked on enemies and stick directions for all ultra greatswords. either shouldn't count against a weapon or count against all DS2 ultra great-swords (i dont think it affects any other weapon category)
@@ZeallustImmortal that would suprise me greatly i didn't play colossal weapons in DS3 so i cant say for sure but in elden ring im actively using an ultra great-sword on my main build and cal tell you i have never once had this problem in well over 100 hours of gameplay on just this character
The Lothric Knight Greatsword is fantastic because it makes it possible to take advantage of 2 elemental weaknesses at the same time, as well as the physical damage type weakness (i.e. Standard, Thrust) so it makes it a fantastic pick no matter what boss you come up against
5:46 This is called manual attack aiming, you were probably aiming your left stick to the left while attacking which made you miss because manual attack aiming allows you to aim your attacks while locked on. This is not a tracking issue, this is a skill issue.
@@wexdust yeah its sad its like at the end of the dlc so u get to fight like 3 bosses with it. And i get thsts its mesnt for ng+ but if u take it to the base game bosses post ng+ its just a slaughter
The Zweihander. Oh my oh my. This weapon has gotten me (the worlds crappiest souls player) to finally beat a Souls game. Dark Souls Remastered in particular.
The Fume Ultra Greatsword, that L2 iirc the spin is a blocking frame before the smash down. Also the King's Ultra Greatsword has additional damage against enemy durability, it breaks their gear faster.
I actually did a trilogy run with the Black Knight Greatsword as my main weapon except not really because I used the Zweihander for most of DS1, would use the Pursuer's UGS until I finally acquired the weapon and then paired it with the Forlorn GS for the power stance (which it looks like you forgot about that one on this list? Unless it's marked as a regular GS and somehow can powerstance with an UGS?) and also sometimes used the Crypt Blacksword and at one point went and used the OG Greatsword to fight Sir Alonne, and then in DS3 also used the Broadsword, the Dark Sword, the Zweihander, the Hollowslayer's Greatsword, and the Wolf Knight's Greatsword on occasion. Black Knight's Great Sword is still one of the most fun weapons to use, though.
Haven't seen the full vid yet, but Astora Greatsword will always be the absolute GOAT Also, could you do the great spears of the souls series? Examples:DS1(Pike, DS, Silver Spear, Demon spear) DS2(Grand Lance, Heide Lance, Heide Greatlance, Pate's Spear) DS3(Ringed Knight Spear, Greatlance, Lothric Knight Spear)
Good video idea and I appreciate the efforts and editing put into the work BUT None of the rankings are based on statistics or any calculations Optimal ar, stamina consumption, progression, practical usage, range, etc are all barely mentioned I would not use this list for informative purposes (I understand that it is your personal yap but yeah I disagree) The best ugs for pve in ds1 are zweihander(for the 125 pdmg pancake r2)/greatsword (for thrust counters and knockdowns) (both get 610 ar with 27 str 40 dex 2h) and demon gmachete (637 ar with 27 str 2h). Maybe bkgs in early/mid game The best ugs for pve in ds2 is lightning lost sinner sword (708 ar with min stats). Ikugs if your charcater is at high level (typically 200+). Zweihander if you prefer the horizontal moveset. Lightning greatsword for early game (80 str standard works but worse than lightning lss) The best ugs for pve in ds3 are heavy greatsword (676 ar with 66 str 2h), heavy cathedral greatsword (617 ar with 66 str 2h, does strike and thrust dmg and benefits from leo counters), and sharp lothric knight gs (712~730 ar with 70~80 dex). Zweihander can count as an early game option for str ugs and astora gs for dex. Farron and rkpgs have unique movesets and are optimal with 40 str 40 dex stat spread. I just wanted to let you know that I am not here to spread negativity. Your video is decent but lacks the numbers to support your claim. That's why I'm here to yap as well.
Random clips I got from my first playthrough with lost sinner sword (3 shot the imperfect in the sunken king dlc) th-cam.com/video/ZV6oSm3JS5o/w-d-xo.html
Lothric Knight UGS is actually the GOAT. It is arguably the strongest weapon on max level when dark infused. You can even dark infuse it at meta (125-139), or if you want infuse it with heavy or sharp (even on quality build it scales better of dex) then apply lightning resin or lightning blade spell. In PvP it's good for ripostes or comboing while ganking but is not very good in 1v1 unless specific weapon is used (like paired ugs) because stomp goes through it's regular spin-jump combo (idk buttons on controller l just press right mouse click to combo those). Also for some reason sometimes it does 3 r1s combo on players. Reason why it's so good is split lightning damage which most players are weak to, besides dark and most bosses in the PvE are weak to it. That's why it deserves first place. Also you absolutely butchered my boi Lorian GS, its absolute unit with its low requirements making it usable on low level. Poke attack is nothing to mess with. Does high damage and buffed poke can one shot players in some cases in pvp. Quite a bit of pve enemies/bosses are weak to fire as well. So at least it deserves 4th place behind DS2 Fume UGS. Only one being better being Chaos Zweihander in DS1. Now maybe black knight ugs is more damaging than lorians ugs but l appreciate lorians ugs low stat requirements and high damage it does. I find horizontal moveset more appealing as well altho the vertical ones are bit harder to punish in pvp. *Also to mention Astora GS is the unit that always get S scaling with elements and dex, viable on any build, light as greatsword, r1 into charge combo can sometimes delete in pvp. Overall chefs kiss!
Not enough credit given to DS1 Zweihander tbh. I mean it ranked really high, but it's worth mentioning how insanely busted it is with its poise damage, you pancake everything that can be pancaked with the R2 and anything that can't be pancaked will stagger in at most two R2s. Also King's Ultra Greatsword in DS2, the heavy attack thing goes for every UGS that doesn't have a stab (and even then I think the stab also has the same property of being able to be aimed at the last second) and in addition it does strike damage which is a really powerful damage type in DS2.
Tbf the lost sinners sword is one of the most unique weapons in dark souls. I'm pretty sure it's the only weapon in the game tied to your morality aka sin.
Don't take anything I say too seriously, I have no idea what I'm yapping about💀
