in 2000 my youngest started high school. I bought her an LLBean backpack. It was used thru high school, university, then post grad studies. It got left behind when my youngest moved out but now I use it as my carry-on when I travel. The reflector stripe is a bit dull but other than that it is in excellent condition. So well made.

My nine year old granddaughter told me she is very excited for back to school shopping, but not excited at all about school. 😂😂😂
My two little boys are so picky about their clothes! They insist on choosing their own outfits and do not seem to like mom's suggestions lately 😂

When my daughter started school in 2005, I didn't have to buy any school supplies. The school purchased each child all the things they needed. They each got one for the first half of the year and all new supplies for the second half of the year. That was extremely helpful. Her brother is 9 1/2 years older and he needed all the pricier things. Our district was mostly mid to lower income families and a lot of the kids came to school without any supplies at all. All we had to get were Kleenex, plastic baggies, hand sanitizer, and a lunch box.
You got your boys such cute things. Too bad that the stickers, like the ones you got, weren't around then. I hope your boys have a great school year!

As a retired elementary teacher, you bless me so much! I’m beginning my third year of retirement and miss the kids! I didn’t teach until my kids were grown so was home with them, and I always loved getting the kids ready for back-to-school! I have loved back-to-school since I was in first grade!

I haven’t had school age children in over 25 years BUT Summers not over 😢(hanging on to the last days as best I can). My grandkids start on Monday and it’s only the 3rd week of August. When my kids were little we had a female governor (MI) and she passed a rule no school could start until after Labor Day so families could enjoy through the holiday.

My lunch boxes were metal and I'll never forget the sound the handles made when they were carried 🤣
Miriam, I am worried about you. Your posting seems so unhappy. I hope you are getting the help you need. Being a full time parent is very hard. You lose a bug part of yourself. And depression is a very real medical condition. It is not your fault. P,ease know that you are loved and care for and l,ease get the help that you need.
