- Religious, scientific, environmental and political leaders travel the Danube from Passau, Germany, to its delta on the Black Sea and explore the common ground between pragmatic environmental issues and the spiritual dimensions of nature.
In the aftermath of the conflict in the former Republic of Yugoslavia, the challenge of protecting and improving the condition of the Danube has become even more urgent. This film focuses attention on the impacts of war, urban development, industrialization, shipping and agriculture and what can be done to restore the Danube River.The symposium on which the film is based generated strong media attention and inspired significant new initiatives in the region.

The name of the Danube means “the Over River” in the Old Indo-European language of thousands of years ago. In other words, the name means “the best river.”
@CarryTheTruth Danu in rigveda is mother of vritra her tears formed the danube after vritra was slain by God Indra.Entymologically Danu means to flow ,be means good -meaning good flow of tears after an evil was slain by the thunderer.

Danube for people who are far away. it`s good that the harm of nato bombing and big harm also for the other countries, also hungary, was mentioned. but other aspects, e g austria or germany do not have much relation to the actual life together with the danube here. everything as seen with the eyes of tourists. but not much reality.

@@johnpuleo3176 It tastes good The water is very clean the only poluant are nitrites from fertilizers but you have to run some tests in order to find it . People have always swum in it and it is always a pleasant experience
