  • 2014 Acura ilx 2.4 at Lime Rock Park, EBC yellowstuff pads all around, EBC slotted Rotors all around, RBF660 brake fluid, Continental sports plus tires.
    Brakes behaved very well, there was plenty of bite and feel. also, no fade at all and i did 4 sessions of 20 minutes each brake late every time.
    Tires didn't hold up too well.

      They made the ilx from 2013-2022 but after 2015 you couldn't get it in a manual. Would of been nice if they kept the manual option for longer

      Most of their cars have VTEC
      All it is is variable cam timing and DOHC
      There is nothing fancy about it honda just brands it as their own since they were one of the first ones to start doing it in their cars

    You’re driving the ILX about as hard as any ILX would ever be driven ... how do you feel about it not having an LSD?
    Does it NEED one? Cross shopping ILX to the Si ...

    • @mateomotors8945
      @mateomotors8945  3 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      I actually had an 07 SI with the k20 motor so I can tell you my opinion on both.
      For every day driving the ILX is better, quieter at Highway speeds, it’s not as stiff of a ride and it had ok torque so I didn’t have to rev it up to get some power.
      For spirited driving, the ILX is ok but the rear suspension gets upset under hard cornering if you hit a bump and you’ll be missing the LSD when you really start to push it.
      The SI is a superior driving machine, much louder out the box, i believe it’s a little faster too, great suspension, great traction out the corners.
      If you really want to haul ass, hit the track and have a car that you can get faster with get the SI, but if you are mostly commuting and just want to drive quick sometimes the ILX is more comfortable and more relaxing.
