I am from Canada where this is filmed and it’s been a long time since a new episode has been shown. It’s all been repeats so I hope they get it together and start putting some new ones on because I really like this show. And the backdrop of St. John’s Newfoundland is simply stunning.
They ruined this show when they had the detective character shacking up with the forensic lab analyst co-star. Never watched again after that. The previous unfulfilled romantic, perhaps professionally taboo, sexual tension was an interesting minor sub plot. Detective characters are often maladjusted loners ( e g. Goren or Logan on Law and Order CI ) . But when they all indulged their fetish and became one big happy family , apart from being contrived and not credible, that removed the dramatic tension and turned it into a sappy soap opera.

I’ve seen this episode several times and only seasons one through five are currently available in the United States. So this is not 2025.
This is NOT Season 8, all repeats of Season 5 - don't waste your time
