    Very useful information particularly the different fix/replacement options at the end. 👍🏻

    I’m having problems with my Corsa at the minute. It keeps going dead. I’ve had so many things done to it but it’s still up and down. This is useful information!

      As with most modern vehicles, electronics play a key role. Faulty sensors, poor battery, and poor connections can all wreak havoc, depending on where you are located I can only suggest seeking the help of an auto electrician, they differ from your regular mechanic/repair garage as they specialise in diagnosing electrical issues. Some garages rely on diagnostic codes alone for repair, meaning they replace parts (sensors or Componants) based on fault codes and don’t actually look in to the “reason” if that makes sense, and then starts the “replace parts” roulette game. An example
      For instance: A fault code that reads “main control power relay open circuit” may point some garages in the direction of a failed relay or even a broken wire or dodgy connection at the relay but an auto electrician could end up tracing the fault back to the ecu circuit board, saving you money on and illuminating the “process of illumination parts”. Hoping you manage to sort your issue soon and effectively

      Hi mate can I change the ecu with another ecu that has keys programmed to it and it should run or can I get a new ecu and programme new keys from the new ecu? Many thanks I'm a trainee key programmer

    Thanks a lot for your videos, they are really very useful. I would like to ask you a question, my ECU (the same of this video) is irreparably damaged, I would like to buy a reset used one, do I have to bring my car to Opel if I cannot recover the data from mine?

      You will need only the security code of your current ecu and then you will have to locate a garage that has access to “tech2” (Vauxhall’s diagnostic equipment). Or another option would be to find an ecu cloning company close to you, who would be able to retrieve all the information from your eprom chip and then copy it onto your new ecu.

    Thanks for this video. Somebody has asked me to look at theirs but omg th e tracks in the same area as this video are so corroded it's impossible to repair. How many times have you changed the eProm over and how many times was it successful please?

    Hi, i have the famous "capacitor 1 low voltage" and also "rail pressure control valve voltage high". The car crank but don't start. i measure 0Amp on the common rail pressure regulator, so the ramp pressure is too low to start (6 MPA) do you have an idea ? thank you :)

      Capacitor 1 low voltage can give you the symptoms you mentioned. Personally I’d be getting the ecu tested,

    I've got capacitor voltage 1 low voltage problem there's no corroded traces what could this be ?

    • @RustyNLC
      @RustyNLC  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Romaiz Afsar more than likely faulty capacitor, also check the pins for corrosion at the main ecu plug end

    Hi I have the same problem I have opened the ECU up which was a bit of a problem have you got any ideas what could cause it not to crank over

    • @RustyNLC
      @RustyNLC  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It could be a multitude of things, would need the codes that were stored in the ecu. And obviously would need to eliminate other possible causes not related to ecu failure, crank sensor, timing, injection, immobiliser etc etc

    Hi which part causes capacitor 1 low voltage permanent

    • @RustyNLC
      @RustyNLC  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Gaz Jacko it’s a process of illumination with these ecu’s check the 12v trace feed, also the 5v regulators, and check the capacitors themselfs, look for signs of corrosion (white/yellow/black marks) without getting to technical with a magnifier check for any scorch marks, it is also worth checking the pins were the harness connects to the ecu,

      Sébastien Herreman I will find an old ecu and will check for you

    That trace looks like to be 12V feed to the 5V regulator.

    Hi did the trace repair fix this ?

    • @RustyNLC

    How did you repair that trace?

    • @RustyNLC
      @RustyNLC  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You splice a new trace in, it’s a delicate job, not really a diy home mechanics job, I shall video me carrying one out next time I have one in

    hot wierd mine to start but need ecu unless just wires need cleaned 2008 diesel corsa d

    • @RustyNLC
      @RustyNLC  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Kevin Clark you can bridge the main control relay to bypass and get it to start but that’s not really ideal as the relay is there for a reason, check the ecu plug for damaged terminals both on the loom end and the ecu end,

    • @garethmulholland212
      @garethmulholland212 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RustyNLC which rely do you bridge as I need to get my cat started to se if it is my ECU that is the problem.

    • @RustyNLC
      @RustyNLC  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you h e access to a wiring diagram through garage software packages, then you will be able to identify which terminals you need to bridge in order to bypass the main relay, you would obviously still need the key present as this won’t bypasss the immobiliser
