How many turns pls...and how do you turn the copper coil....does it have a specific method or style? Mine doesn't power up even after using a diode..what could be the problem??
Master, could you please tell me how many turns you made and what number of wire you use? I have a diesel generator staor and it shows 54 ohms, maybe it is overheated, by the way it uses 0.6mm 22 gauge wire
On rewinding my gen, I counted 590 "loops" each side. Given, mine is a 10K watt gen and with 22 gauge wire. There is a website that you can estimate how long the wire is by checking the Ohms and add the gauge- given, the wire is not broken\open loop like mine was originally.
Can anyone tell how to check that style armature with an ohms meter I did the brush tracks and had continuity but I also had continuity when I went brush to shaft is this armature grounding out from the windings to the base please let me know if its good still

Yes they have...look carefully 0:07 sec in video. They are small rectangular peaces at the and of the core. But they are only for the excite then you have an AVR (automated voltage regulator) electronics for DC current to the rotor
The AVR is supplied from the stator and it takes voltages information from the main 230V of the stator ...if voltage drops when you load the generator it push more DC current to the rotor

what is the size of the wire sir? If for example, using 0.8 millimetres, is it possible?

Yes some have as an added advantage for establishing quick initial excitation.
Brother i believe resistance should remain between 5-15ohms
Noup...is around 30-50 ohms depending of kVA
