May Allah forgive us. The Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم has passed away, and asking him for anything is an act of associating partners with Allah. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم was sent to deliver the message of Tawheed (the Oneness of Allah), calling us to worship Allah alone. How can you now turn to worship him? Supplication (dua) is indeed an act of worship, and it must be directed to Allah alone. Ibn Abbas reported that Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) addressed the people after hearing of the Prophet’s passing: “Whoever among you worshiped Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم, then Muhammad has died. But whoever worships Allah, then Allah is alive and never dies.” Abu Bakr then recited the verse: “Muhammad is no more than a messenger. Messengers have passed on before him. So if he were to die or be killed, would you turn back on your heels?” (3:144) Ibn Abbas remarked, “By Allah, it was as if the people had never known that this verse was revealed until Abu Bakr recited it.” (Source: Sahih al-Bukhari 1241) Al-Nu’man ibn Bashir reported that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said: “Supplication is worship itself.” Then he recited the verse: “Your Lord has said, ‘Call upon Me, and I will respond to you. Verily, those who disdain My worship will enter Hell in humiliation.’” (40:60) (Source: Sunan al-Tirmidhi 3247) Let us remember that all forms of worship, including supplication, are due to Allah alone, as commanded by our Creator and affirmed by the teachings of His Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم.
“The five daily prayers, Jummah (Friday prayers), and Ramadan remove bad deeds between one and the next, if major sins are avoided.” - Prophet Muhammad ﷺ [Sahih Muslim: 233]

I love hearing the stories of the prophet, but I just hate that people try to add their own exaggerations of the events. I wish there's a way we can fact check what actually happened from what people say..
