Moxie is one of a handful Maine traditions that I enjoy. To me it's special, as my grandfather who grew up in Old Town, Maine introduced me to Moxie. Can't do it everyday, but every once in awhile I'll buy a sleeve!
@@petercarson7277 I have not, but it's in my calendar for next year. I missed the whoopie pie festival this year in Dover Fox Croft as well 😔. I love that you are sharing some of these gems in Maine with everyone. So many places to see and fun events all throughout Maine.
66 yr old soon to be 67 in August 2023 "I LOVE MOXIE"! My wife Debbie of 33 yrs 8/10/ 1985 - 5/10/2013 Cancer took her. She was a Pepsi drinker. We only went to 1 Moxie festival, got Moxie Jam. But alas, Moxie has to much sugar now a day's and I have been a type 2 diabetic for 7 yrs not due to Moxie. So if I have 1 can, it has to last a couple of weeks to finish 1 can. Who got me started on MOXIE one of My Aunt Shirley's whom lived on the highest level Hill in Gloucester, Massachusetts, She and her husband Bill had a place down along The Maine coast.
2yrs ago, I searched all of New England for Moxie and could not find a single can. I 💗 Moxie !!! Liberal Camden didn't want anyone's business unless you were masked, gloved, and \ /ax'd. Being Right, I left. Beautiful Camden Sucks !!!
@@vallovesnature8449 🇺🇸 A rural local couple told me it's a lot better out of town where True Americans abound. 🇺🇸 Maine is currently being inundated w non citizens and no homes to Give them. 👀 😒 Free Whoopie Pies for you, and you, and you !!! Moxie up !!!
I had my first taste of Moxie over 50 years ago . My father was a huge fan and would tell the story of how, back in the depression, his father would buy 1 bottle of Moxie for he and his 4 other brothers and it would last them all day. To this day I describe the aftertaste of Moxie like the taste of sucking on an old penny back when you were a kid.
I'll pay attention to that corn syrup ... next time I can get my hands on some. True story: I did find some ~3yrs ago, in a small Noxon, Montana store. $4 for a small glass bottle !
Missed it! Will need to add to my calendar for next year. Thanks for sharing!

@@kookietherapy9398 Someday I hope to live in Maine, away from big towns, in an offgrid cottage enjoying my Moxie while chopping wood🤞🏻
Nice to see folks enjoying themselves, here in Cleveland Ohio we have shooting most evenings 😮
We are blessed here in Maine compared to most.
My dad always enjoyed Moxie and I followed in his footsteps. Last time I looked at a property with you I grabbed a cold Moxie for the ride home.
Thanks for watching Larry. It is an acquired taste as passed down generationally.

Yes, I tried Moxie ONCE!!
So you obviously liked it then. I think you would really enjoy a moxie float!
@@petercarson7277 I did NOT like it, but I would try the Moxie float. Ice cream helps anything taste better!!

I hope to be able to cover the blueberry festival.
Just don't taste the same as it once did. I'm guessing, thanks to corn syrup.
Possible but I wish we could find it in the glass bottles.

I think the reason you don’t like Moxie’s mom put it in your bottle when you were a baby
Sure, blame it on mom. I know it was you that put it in my bottle.
I have lived in Lisbon for 25 years and moxie tastes like shit lol
Do you go to the festival?
