What Was it Like to Live in India's Golden Age

- I might get dislikes for this one. The golden age of India was a time of peace and prosperity when a few local empires and kingdoms ruled the subcontinent. It can be said to be the time period from the rise of Satvahana empire to the fall of Gupta empire. And the laws and values of this time period is available for all to read and understand in the dharmashastras and their Buddhist counterparts, Dharmsutras. These give a window into a slice of Indian history with fidelity we have never had before this point.
Most indegeous kingdoms from this point on will try to follow these books to recreate their societies. At least the north Indian ones. So it kind of gives a look into how Indians lived all the way until the British took over.
