Very happy to see you go directly from Bohemian to this first original from Angelina. Most take a while to get to this one, but it is such an important video in her library IMO. Having written this song at only 11 years old (or younger), it is a good sign that Angelina is not going to be giving us songs about shallow subjects. Not only does she ask a question as deep as "what is life", but the way she answers that question is also very telling... music, family, love... these are the things she finds important in her life. This kid is so genuine.
Love the texture in her voice on this one. Other than a couple of warbling runs at the end, this was pretty straight tone. She has lots of other tools in her vocal toolkit, but unlike so many young singers, she doesn't overdo it and try to show them off all the time. Rather, we see her use them here and there, more sparingly, and in places where they accentuate the feeling of the song she is singing. Her choices of where and what to do are almost as impressive as how she does it. So, yes, her actual voice sounds like a much more seasoned and older singer, but her musical sensibilities are exceptional as well.
