Hi Georgette, thank you for telling me about this! You are right in thinking this. The correct word for this, for the second part of the sentence, is HABRÍA. The thing is, when we're having an 'every day' conversation, people tend to replace HABRÍA with HUBIERA. BUT HABRÍA is what is grammatically correct. Sorry about the confusion!

Hi Bianca, the difference is that the imperfect refers to the moment when the action takes place, and the pluperfect contemplates that action after it has finished. For example: 1) Quería que lo hicieras. I wanted you to do it. 2) Quería que tú lo hubieras hecho. I wished that you'd have done it. Try with other examples and see how it goes!

In "if" clauses you are required to use the imperfect subjunctive if the sentence is an "if...then"sentence because it is a conjectue;it hasn't happened..The second part of the sentence is in the conditional.If the event had already occured and it was contrary to fact ,then you should use the past perfect(also called the pluperfect) subjunctive followed by theconditional perfect.For example:If you had studied more ,then you would have got better results. Si hubieras estudiado más entonces habrías sacado mejor notas.In an "if"sentence you can use the present tense...followed by the future tense(many spanish speakers also use the present tense when referring to the future : eg si voy a la playa me baño) if the result is generally expected eg si voy al cine compro (compraré) "popcorn".
