    Thank you Sir!!! With the exception of having to uninstall and re-install VirtualBox to get it working properly and needing to install 7-ZIP.. I GOT IT WORKING. Note to self: NAT is not the same as NAT Network ...LOL

    Found you video very informative but at 2:40 you used Infosec Lab network with description on how to create. In version 7.0 of VirtualBox there is no Network option within Preference Menu. Is it possible to advice on how to perform this procedure. I came across a blog on setting up para-virtualized network for Adapter Type. Is this necessary

    Did you make changes to your VirtualBox host-only adapter? Because by default, mine is at 192.168.56.0/24 network, while yours is at 192.168.1.0/24. So in my ubuntu client, I was not able to open the pFsense web interface.

  • @chihiro5559
    @chihiro5559 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hello, thank you for the tutorial, why did you change the network to host only when trying to connect to.192.168.1.1? I restarted my machine and got a different IP, I tried to ping pfsense again and Iam unable to reach. Then I went back to settings change it to the network same with pfsense got a new IP within NAT Network and able to ping again. In order to login to pfsense, I need host only adapter IP. But pinging pfsense I need the NAT Network IP?

    • @InfoSecPat
      @InfoSecPat  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not sure why that is put your local area network should be pointing to your private IP address. And the public IP should be from your Internet provider. Just check the configuration to the interfaces.

    FYI: With VirtualBox 6.1.38 r153438 (2022-09-02) on an Intel i5-10400, I had to set for 2 processors in System->Processor settings of the VM in order to avoid a kernel panic failure on boot up. Previously, I said that activating the Enable PAE/NX in the System->Processor setting solved the problem, but I was wrong!!! Sorry...

    Whats the point of setting up two networks on the PFsense???

    • @InfoSecPat
      @InfoSecPat  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Every firewall has a minimum of two interfaces, one for the local area network for inside, and then you have a interface for the Internet for the external

    ALL I WANNA DO IS MAKE A ROUTER!!!!! Nobody has a video on this.I should be able to use VB and PFS to be a virtual router to REAL MACHINES not VM Clients!!!!!!!!!!! I dont understand any of this and your video is far from straight forward. There is something I'm missing and no matter how many videos I waste my time on either someone is using aanother VM or other software. Nobody is doing what THE SOFTWARE IS INTENDED FOR!!!!!!!!!! I just dont wanna devote a PHYSICAL DRIVE to running pfsense! I have other stuff to run in a REAL OS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am infuriated.
