    I have the very same machine with telematics less the hydraulic quick coupler option. I absolutely love it! The 6 way blade is a game changer. The only issue I have with mine is the fuel filler plastic filter insert takes fuel so slow that the fill beeper doesn’t work correctly. Since I use double filtered fuel from my own tanks I just removed it and the beeper works fine. I’m pretty sure though that you don’t need a diverter up front as the secondary/aux hydraulic lines have a diverter valve under the right side cowling over the top of the battery to switch it from dual directional flow for like an tilt bucket to one way flow for a brush cutter or mulcher.

      Found a similar issue with my SVL. I remove the filter at the fill port while filling and put it back afterward otherwise it's 20 minutes to fill up (foamy and too slow).

    I got mine , same spec about the same time as you.
    The diy pre cut tint kit was a good investment.
    You can add manual diverters for about 250 or electric one for about 500. Or just add quick connects to the thumb and aux .
    Very happy w mine which was an upgrade from my kx033 open station

      @@dirtydiggerm62 sry didn't see this until now, to divert the thumb circuit you'll need a 10-12 gpm double selector solenoid valve 12v, and a switch. Summit hydraulic is a knowledgeable seller.

    How much better is it at removing stumps vs M62? I got a L47 and it can do a lot... only reason I can think of is KX40 could fit in tighter spaces as a backhoe kinda clunky to position. DYI you can get some diverter valves + fittings from summit hydraulics and get same result as the overpriced parts (...price you mentioned is PER side, so it's actually like 2k+ for both sides).

      I use the kx040 as the sole digger now. I have not had the backhoe on the m62 since I got it. it's a night and day difference in having 3500lbs of extra breakout force on trees. the only thing lacking is the excavators dig depth is 10ft instead of 12.

    May I ask what kinds of things the M62 was not doing well enough, that made this a necessary investment?

    • @dirtydiggerm62
      @dirtydiggerm62  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      the m62 is great for moving a lot of material when you have room to move around as well as grading and has a good digging depth as well. about 2 ft more than the kx040. but when it comes to a backhoe vs an excavator it's a night and day difference when it comes to digging. the excavator allows you to swing around 360 degrees when you have to dump your spoils. it runs quieter. it's also more comfortable to operate since the controls are right at your arm rest instead of in front of you. it also has the cab with ac. its more manurable and able to get in and out of tight spaces.

      @@dirtydiggerm62 Alrighty. Which would you recommend for a DIY house build?
      Having just the M62 or L47 would be far easier maintenance wise, as well as financially. But I don't want to find myself in a situation where I don't have the equipment necessary to do the job, and regret not getting a mini ex, and standard tractor, or skid steer.

    • @dirtydiggerm62
      @dirtydiggerm62  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      it really depends on what your needs are. how much you need to lift, how deep and how much digging you have to do, how hard the ground is your digging, are you digging out roots and things like that. If you're doing this for a business of for personal property maintenance

    Did you adjust the thumb hydraulic pressure? Mine slams so the pressure it too high and I'm trying to learn how to turn the pressure down.

    • @dirtydiggerm62
      @dirtydiggerm62  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't mess with the pressure, but you can change the flow rate to slow it down. I wouldn't want to reduce pressure since you limit grip strength.

    do you need the diverter valve if it has two ports?

    • @dirtydiggerm62
      @dirtydiggerm62  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      it depends on what attachments you need, and the flow needed. i don't currently need to use both but like to option. if you're just using a tilt bucket and the thumb the two will cover it. if you go to a tilt rotor or other complicated attachment you may need more. also, the stock setup for the thump shows the line for it to be connected to the high flow (left stick switch) and I had it installed on the new second line since it does not need the high flow to operate without problems

      yeah, it doses but I have had a few jobs I have had to pass on because the m62 backhoe could not get it done and i save time not having to switch back and forth between the backhoe and the box blade so its going to fill that need and pay for itself. plus, an excuse for a new toy. lol

      @ yes I almost bought it last fall is well. I was really debating either kx-040-4 or kx-057-5 , almost bought the 057-5 it’s got but upgraded cab and display. Now that 040-5 is out I’ll wait till dealer gets it. I really think since it’s best seller do to it’s size and capability Kubota probably made thousands of them 040-4. They had to get rid of them before they released the-5 model. But that’s my opinion. You still got very nice machine.

      @@alexkaban7860 it a good balance of options and under the 10k wight limit that will add added transport requirements. i would have preferred a u model in some way just because you don't have to think about the tail as much. you don't give up much as far as specs by doing so. the two main reasons I went with the kx040 was the 6-way blade which I use all the time and love, and the buckets are the same as the m62. since I already have several for that it saved me 10k just in the buckets

      @@dirtydiggerm62 yes, kx-040 with the six way blade is is big deal. If kx-057 had six way blade that would be sweet machine for sure. But 040 is much more versatile, easier to haul around and get in to tight jobs. 040 is the best. Unless you won’t move it around and just keep it on property.
