Was looking for more insight on Craig jones power ride and this is exactly that! Thank you for this! The instructional seemed to emphasis the leg split mostly. Do you use the leg split much or mostly this? This one seems more user friendly
Honestly, this is my main position of the Leg Ride, I have a couple sub positions from this series. I really don't use the leg split much, it just hasn't presented it's self yet. I like locking down the legs to get my opponent to force on escaping the legs then I attack the upper body. I am glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for the comment!
I’ve been playing around with this stuff for the past couple of months and I’ve found the same thing. This position and the stuff from turtle have been the most accessible. The leg split has come up once or twice in scrambles, but I can’t seem to find a way to get there reliably. Glad I’m not the only one For other resources, Gordon seems to be going for this ride intentionally vs Gaudio at around the 10:40 mark, then again when he regresses to 1/2 at around 14:18. Same sequence in both instances, Gaudio turns down as Gordon is trying to uncross the feet, but cuts back in before Gordon can throw hooks in for the back th-cam.com/video/xN0HUe8e2z0/w-d-xo.html The B-Team video ‘Power Pins with Craig Jones’ has examples of Craig using the power ride stuff in live rounds th-cam.com/video/6LomdzL1E14/w-d-xo.html While Gordon was entering in the same manner as shown in this seminar, Craig seems to enter his leg rides when he covers the hips off of a guard pass. BJJ Scout goes over the concept of covering the hips in the middle his Miyao brothers passing study, starting at around 4:25. But the whole video is worth a watch th-cam.com/video/PtBWUlizcN4/w-d-xo.html
Seminars were awesome. Lots of people took advantage of that time and instruction.
Thanks 🙏 very much
