A little STORY RECAP for people who don't know Rei and Rie: REIRIE is a new group. The same two girls in this group were, many years ago, two of the three members of a group called "Ladybaby" (the third member was LadyBeard, a man crossdressing as a little girl, singing the heavy metal parts). After LadyBeard left, the group was renamed in "The Idol formerly known as Ladybaby", that was basically the same thing as before, but with Rei and Rie as the only two members. After some time, Rei and Rie split, and Rie formed another group with 3 other girls, using the old name "Ladybaby" again. Meanwhile, Rei was in a different group called BRATS, with her sister. Two months ago, after 2 years of complete silence, Ladybaby's youtube channel uploaded a new video that hints some sort of reboot of the group, probably with different members. Now, Rie and Rei are finally back together, and their new group is called REIRIE.
That's a great recap! …Even though it does gloss over the details of why Beard and Rei left, plus also kinda sells the final incarnation of Ladybaby (my favorite, no disrespect intended to Rei) short. Also, BRATS was a thing long before Ladybaby ever existed -- Rie herself was a fan of BRATS back in the day and said she'd often be in the front row of Rei/Aya/Hinako's live shows.
This is honestly the reunion of the century! I was sad when I heard the news of the group splitting and them going their own ways, but seeing this makes me excited for what's to come! Seeing Rei grown up and also that these two haven't lost their synergy together is awesome! I remember seeing them live YEARS ago in NYC. Can't wait to see what comes from you two and for this song to be on Spotify!

I'm so happy they are back together! The music is breathtaking, the girls are stunning, and it's so nostalgic for them to be together again. They are better together. Welcome back Rie and Rei!

In 2015 Rei Rie debuted in ladybaby with a cute wrestler commonly called ladybeard as a screaming vocal position, in 2016 ladybeard left ladybaby, after that the group changed name to The idol formerly known as ladybaby, since then reirie relationship has become closer. Then in 18 Nov 2017 Rei left ladybaby and continued the band he had formed for a long time called brats. Rie was still with ladybaby in 2018 with three new members which then also went on hiatus in 2020, after that Rie had her own project called ilie as a solo singer. Before finally, at the beginning of 2023, Rei and Rie were together again. The reason they separated in the officially ladybaby account was written only because Rei's vocal cords were sick. But of course fans know that's just a ridiculous excuse considering how close the two of them are. The proof is that since Rei left, the relationship with Rie has also broken up, they deleted all photos together on their social media accounts. And what's even sadder, a month after Rei left (Dec 2017), Rie created a small project called trolleattroll where there were only 2 songs, one of which was titled "blues", in the music video it was clear that Rie felt guilty and sorry, she crying, she wanted say a sorry to Rei in that song. Luckily I only found out about the song after they reunited earlier this year, otherwise it would have been on the list of the most heartbreaking songs lol
Seeing them together again under THEIR terms, under THEIR music, not a gimmick and finally being taken seriously with their OWN sound, makes me feel so much joy! Welcome back Rei and Rie! 🥰🖤💓

@@priit6684 True, Idols rarely compose their own music, but some contribute to the process -- Rie came up with dance moves for some Ladybaby songs _plus_ directed and/or edited a couple of LB's videos. Rei is an artist in her own right outside of Idol. Emily Arima (classically trained pianist who was also LB's second screamer) wrote her own lyrics and has composed short piano and electronica pieces.
Re-reading the lyrics, this is SUCH a personal song for these two -- lyricist RARA basically retold the story of Rie & Rei's falling-out in 2017, how they felt, how they reconnected, and how they plan to move forward… It's beautiful… Love always to REIRIE 🤍🖤

AAAAAAA WHY AM I SO LATE ON THIS?! SO THEY ARE FINALLY BACK TOGETHER?! I love the contrast between Rei and Rie's voice. Rei's has quite a rich and powerful to it while Rie's has a cutesy type of pitch to it. The way they harmonize is an ear treat.
