The problem in Pakistan is they never had grassroot leadership. Leaders were always imposed by Ayub Khan, Musharaf and Bajwa. Only popular leader was Mujibur Rahman, who was not to the liking of Army. From formation, Pakistan has catered to landlords, who came to Pakistan only to protect their holdings and not for love of Pakistan. To enable all this, they fed ordinary people a narrative of hindu hatred and Kashmir. They have still not come out of it. British and USA have used a willing Pakistan for their cold war ends.
