C.A. takes this opportunity to teach and show us about bending/mashing the barbs down on your plug in order to protect the the fish and the angler from any injuries! Great stuff CA I've gone even further and switched from trebles to single inline hooks with the barb smashed, you do have to use a light inline hook to not weigh them down too much

Doug Hannon was a friend and mentor to me. My parents were in the Porsche club with he and his wife. The first fish I caught was a bluegill off his dock when I was 6 years old. His wife made the doughballs I caught them with. When I got into bass fishing he gave me my first bait cast reel and taught me how to use it on that dock. I still have it 41 years later. He was a genius at all things fishing and a great man who loves to share. My dad still has the mount of a 10 pounder be caught with Doug. The Hannons are missed.

I met Mr. Hannon at a Tampa News-Press fishing expo. He had the firmest longest handshake! We spoke for what seemed like hours about the Slug-go. I was and still am mesmerized by every word he spoke.

@Henry Schmidt he did love the Sluggo! He kept a bricked in pond with an observation window in it in his backyard. He'd usually have 4-5 giant bass in there. The water was dark so when you held a shiner over the water you'd about crap yourself when a huge bass exploded out of the water to eat it! He always got a kick out of that!😄

Hey CA. Love the channel. Question. Knowing what we do about barbless hooks, why don't hook manufactures make barbless hooks? Has it been pitched to David Fladd with Eye Strike.

Say loud for the “hard of hearing” fishermen. So many have been brainwashed into thinking a barbs are needed on hooks….especially Bass guys😝
And yes Celsius is a staple for the drive home👍🏽

I smashed the barbs down on my hooks during the last trip. Trout seem to have a tender mouth and if you're not careful their mouth gets ripped up when unhooking for release.

Maybe show examples of how easy it is to extract barbless hooks? I'm @4:21 and not seen how easy it is yet.

Barbless is the way to go! Barbless singles are even better on cranks..............treble hooks suck.
