As I was listening to this, I couldn't help but just imagine this entire exerpt to be dialogue from the Master Chief himself. But indeed I agree that it is odd to hear the Master Chief talk about himself in third person. But what I particularly liked about this is that, as he was reading, he did an excellent transition between talking in third person to talking as the Master Chief. In all honesty, as a massive Halo fan and a fan of the Master Chief, I enjoyed every second of this.

It's funny where you can learn life lessons, or who you can learn them from. I had a huge connection with the lines "If chief wanted his team to act with confidence, he had to project confidence". I respect Master Chief so much I actually learning off of him and he isn't even real. But those lines mix in with other examples in life so far and it just makes Soo much sense. I personally don't lack confidence, but I have been stepping out of my box a lot lately and although I would become comfortable eventually, I hated the feeling of any level of anxiety. So my take away with those lines and the small confrontation with the woman, is that if I wish to be the most confident outside of my comfort zone, I have to be confident at all times never allowing any sort of worry to enter the mind. For me the Master Chief also represents a master of himself, self control and duty bound. But yet so innocent and pure in his ego and his Perspective of life based on what he has learned, yet he is wise because of what he has learned and all he has seen. That's someone I Aspire to be. Vast in capability, Lethal yet graceful and compassionate, Control of my own self and pure to myself and others and duty bound to the most ultimate goodness in life.
It would be so amazing to have Steve Downes read and narrate chief centric books, and have Nathan Fillion do the same for new blood and bad blood in audiobook format

343i really messed up Halo 5's story. I'm glad to see they are trying to make that up to all of us. The only stories they seem to be able to write well anymore are the ones in halo novels.
