    In this video, I'll show you step by step how you can create bootleg, vintage style graphics for t-shirts and apparel in Photoshop. I've designed in this style for the likes of Snoop Doggy Dogg, The Notorious B.I.G., 21 Savage, Johnny Cash and tons of others. Many of those graphics have made their way to retail stores like Rue 21, Hot Topic, Kohl's and Forever 21. There are so many ways to design these types of concepts and this is how I do it.

    You gotta give the Pen Tool a shot to mask out his body, you'll do the same exact thing as the brush but a much cleaner cut. When you're done, right click > turn the path into a selection with a .5 mask and its cut.

      Sadly, there isn't a quick fix to this! Honestly, in my experience, if you just get the majority of their hair inside the cut out area, you'll be fine. The only exception is when their hair is big part of their overall image. For example, someone like Cher. Just do your best!

    This tutorial is the best I've been coming back to it for the past few days! Just a quick q, when I use the magic wand tool after drawing the outline it sometimes selects only part of the image. Then when I use colour overlay it doesn't fill in the image it covers the whole layer. Do you know why this keeps happening?

    • @FULLERMOE
      @FULLERMOE  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, thanks for watching! It sounds like you're using the magic wand on the layer that your photo (or whatever object you're trying to mask) is on. So the wand is grabbing the photo rather than the outlined shape you created.
      I suggest rewatching the video and making sure you don't miss any steps. If you're still having trouble, go ahead and DM me on Instagram (fuller.moe) and I'll help you out. 💯

    In your opinion; what's the best quality/brand/type of shirt would you recommend that is used for most bootleg old school fit ov sized fit/tough duty tees you'd grab from a thrift/vintage spot when trying to create these on your own to wear?

    • @FULLERMOE

      Great question. Comfort Colors or Colortone will get you in the ballpark in terms of the wash. You can also check out Bella + Canvas. They have some great mineral wash blanks. The hardest part is the fit. Unfortunately, I don't know of any brand that offers the oversized fit AND vintage wash. It seems to be either one or the other. Hope this is helpful!

    • @FULLERMOE
      @FULLERMOE  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Once you have your Photoshop file ready to send, you can contact any screen printing company to have your art printed. The bad news is that any company who has vintage/distressed t-shirt blanks is going to charge a lot of them. My advice, if you want to do it right, is to really save and make sure you have the budget. Bella Canvas has some great, vintage/mineral wash blanks.
