As a prequel memer and a Mentalist fan: this is where the fun begins
This looks really good. I’m so glad Australians are making movies about our history.
Finally seeing more movies that embrace an honest telling of Australia’s past. This movie has great cinematography and acting. It’s worth mentioning this movie was partly funded by a body of the Australian Federal Government and that’s good sign of support
I just watched this movie. One of the best I have seen in a long time. The acting was superb all the way around.
@@jarrodcubbage88 i watched a screeners copy with my friend. He works in the movie industry
Jacob Jr Nayinggul was so good in this! Simon Baker and everyone else as well, respectively, but wow, for a first time actor, he went in on every shot. If he continues a career in acting, I wish this yapa (brother) all the best.
I can't wait to see Obi Wan in this movie. Rumour has it he and the High Ground got along famously.
It’s over Anakin, I have the....
Obi Wan loves this movie
Anakin: *Mustafar flashbacks*
🙂 tears and goosebumps!!! The film worked for me, definitely worth seeing on the big screen, from birds, wind through the trees and song and clap sticks i could close my eyes and nearly feel the heat off the flood plains.
absolutely brilliant a true Australian masterpiece …. Simon Baker & that young indigenous man outstanding performances
His name is Jacob Junior Nayinggul. You’re on the Internet, you could show a little courtesy and make the effort to look it up.
@undeadkid101 101 do you want to know how long it took me to find out his name? About as long as it took me to type this. So yeah, calling out the OP for being lazy, and I just think that’s typical. Australians are pretty much like that, especially when it comes to indigenous people. I don’t give a toss how condescending you think I am
I have failed you Anakin
I hope this gets released in the U.S. Looks like a good movie and I'd really like to be able to watch it.
Not sure about the likelihood of that happening. Australia’s movie industry is very small. I hope you get the chance to see it
Just started watching this. My heart beating furiously already. But I will give it a go! How awful these special people have been treated.. Bless em all. Amen .
Awesome! Also can we show some awesome respect to Jack Thompson who also goes on Dialysis and still pushed through the rebound tired feeling and on the Top End climate to perform splendidly
I love this movie as a aboriginal I love this 🖤💛❤️
I love seeing Aboriginal culture being shared more prominently in local music and cinema 🖤💛♥️💚💛
Obi wan kenobi would love this movie
Obi-Wan would like to know your location
Love the sudden spate of local Aussie productions, now that Hollywood is ravaged by Covid
Good thing too. Hollywood movies are not great, Generally full of propaganda

Australia is a very beautiful place....you must visit once in your lifetime.
It is over Anakin...
Star war Fans:
Anakin has left the chat
Finally, we get to see real aboriginals from arnhem land. Interesting to see new film made at arnhem land.
It's over Anakin, i have the movie
Intense film, this film shows a history of Australian life in a way life none ever before this .I had tears at times. Good film it really hits you
The truth of what happened in this country has risen as if out of the earth into my bones over time.
It’s horrific in it’s detail, worse than any horror film.
To make it right will be to change a culture, from one that uses and exploits to one that respects and protects.
Australia is founded on violent and brutal racism. First nation people were not even considered people let alone citizens in their own country until, THEIR LAND until 1968. We white (Europeans) and other assorted immigrants are in complete denial about this, it's simply too painful and mind bending to process. We accuse South Africa and the United States of racism......wait there....ask the Indians about British racism....
@@filiplikar lol how far ahead in age did we bring the aboriginals, literally from the stone age to the industrial age, don' t get me wrong , what happened was horrible, but if europeans hadn't of settled here, then they would either be completely eradicated by another people or be as worse off as Africa, not trying to sound racist just being truthful.
@@kylejohnston5007 Don't try to make out as if genocide was a good thing and had any positive effects on the indigenous people here. The fact you have to disclaim you aren't trying to sound racist proves enough points. Go educate yourself, this sort of ignorance is embarrassing.
@@user-jy9rq8nj7q also the "not trying to sound racist" part was towards africa ya mong, bc i was calling out that Africa is a shithole and that i was being truthful on the fact that aboriginals would've been worse off minus the metal workings of the African tribes
@@user-jy9rq8nj7q you are taught in au schools from when you start until grade 8 on the matter, they had been stuck in the early stone age for their entire existence of 60,000 to 120,000 years (due to the lack of trade is the main argument in school). Now tell me, would they be as educated, have as many opportunities, vaccines, healthcare, rights or protection? all of this came about from the settling of au where we forced them into our "world", lost generation, a stupid amount of racist immoral stuff, but at the end of the day, we have aboriginal kids getting through highschool with flying marks, getting into college and uni (and also the use of the wheel, metal and handles), in fact I'm even dating a girl who is part aboriginal and she COMPLETELY AGREES with me funnily enough. Australia is a nation where we have a mixed history that started off bad, but it laid down the ground works for this great nation where everyone is treated equal, with equal opportunities, the thing that we pushed for along with our aboriginal brethren. Go educate yourself, this sort of ignorance is embarrassing.
This is an incredible movie.
Who else did a triple take over the line at 1:00 🤯🤣
Was hesitant to see this one, but after all the praise in the comments, I think I'll have to give it a go.
This is a great film with an outstanding cast source this out to see it as one of the best Australian films in the making .
I love it when people outside of Australia watch Australian movies and think the acting is superb :) Funnily enough, we're just THAT chill, everything comes naturally when we get to be ourselves ;) Don't believe me? Watch movies like 'The Loved Ones', 'Rogue', 'Candy', 'Snowtown', or 'Outlaws'. You'll find the acting to be so natural, you'll look at so many American movies in such a different manner - your bar of expectation will rise. Good luck :)
What is the song on the closing credits?? Driving me mad trying to find it.
Excellent. Will go see it when it drops.
Can i watch this in the uk?
Will this be showing any other time in more cinemas?
Saw it today, great film!
I'll watch it at home. Looks like it is focused on a relatively brief period of the place called Australia. Must have been a lot happen before European period - nothing bad of course. No injustice of any kind to either man or animal.
Haha whats up your hole, don’t like seeing what it really was like, even this is fairly tame compared to what reality was like for my people.
Really wanna see this one
It’s over anikan I have the high ground!
The government official is actually Cliegg Lars in Episode II
Still no real justice for Aboriginals in Australia in 2020.
Imagine if the Dutch or Spanish had colonized first. This wouldn't be an issue because there would be none left
Nothing like a foreigner to tell me how I should feel and what I should do with the local indegidous people.
@undeadkid101 101 I agree if the Spanish turned up here it would have been alot different. The Dutch trading in the islands north of Australia tried to trade with the W.A. & N.T. aboriginals but were sent packing with a hail of spears. Most shipwrecked sailors on the coast of W.A were killed by the local aboriginals. Who had a no boat people policy.
Truth. Righteous anger vs violent oppressive anger.
I've seen this movie it's dope
This was an incredible movie
Can't wait!
I was hoping for kenobi, why are you here
Revolutionary Love ... "You are a part of me that I do not yet know. I will open my heart to your stories. I will open my heart to your grief. And I will fight for you when you are in harms way"
PS : Is Aaron ok ? 😎
The producer lives next door to my folks ! 😂
I WANTED THE MOVIE OMFG
looks good cant wait to see this movie
This could be very confronting for some white Australians, European colonisation was barbaric - great to see the story told.
i wonder which way they'll take the story, whether the aboriginals or Europeans were in the wrong
@@kylejohnston5007 Europeans shoot 1st & we still do not understand the land
@@simonrooney7942 up to debate since it was a "our word against yours" for the time, its most likely but still would be interesting which way they go with it
Human history is invasion and resistance. Race has nothing to do with it.
@@michaeltaylor6907 mostly because the invaders see themselves as superior people who deserve that land. I.e. racism.
