Sorry this is a random comment but I see the word "connected" and all I can think of is Bangchan's song (I guess that's how much of a Stay I have become)😭😂 Okay but on a serious note, Stray Kids and the entire team behind Stray Kids are such geniuses for being able to include pop-culture as well as cultural references from various parts of the world to create such meaning and depth in their music videos. Plus Stray Kids really are able to transcend the boundaries of language because of their insane amount of word play like we see here with "rak", "rock"and "la". Everytime I listen to their songs, there's always something new I pick up on. I have never experienced that with any Western artist so far. So it just goes to show how unique Stray Kids really are and how much thought is given as well as how much technicality goes into making K-pop music videos. Everything is so well put together and thought out well in advance before release. Haha alright I'll stop here before I keep rambling on!
About Stray Kids......... 3Racha - Stray Kids' main writing and production unit, consisting of Bang Chan (the leader of Stray Kids), Changbin and Han (two of their main rappers) Bang Chan was an idol trainee at JYP for several years. While waiting to debut with a group (any group), he formed a rap group called 3Racha with two other trainees, Changbin and HAN. They wrote and produced their own music. JYP gave Bang Chan the highly unusual opportunity to help develop his own idol group, and when Stray Kids was formed 3Racha was absorbed into that group. 3Racha still performs on occasion. Several of their songs / videos are posted on TH-cam. They write and produce (and often compose/arrange) the vast majority of the music for Stray Kids. But over the years the other members have also gotten involved in writing and production. ---------------------------------- Stray Kids debuted in 2018. They started with 9 members (in their early videos, you'll see 9 people performing) but Woojin left in Oct 2019. Stray Kids have been an 8-member group ever since. ---------------------------------- DanceRacha - their main dance unit (Hyunjin, Felix, and Lee Know). But all 8 members dance very well. ---------------------------------- VocalRacha - their main vocal unit (Seungmin and I.N). But again, all 8 members have great singing voices and they switch around on lead vocals, depending on the song. ---------------------------------- Main rappers - Changbin, Han, Hyunjin and Felix (the deep-voiced guy) - however unlike many K-pop groups, all 8 members can and have rapped, depending on the song. ---------------------------------- Languages: Bang Chan (the leader of the group) and Felix (deep-voiced guy) are both Korean-Australian, so English is their first language. The other 6 members speak English with varying degrees of fluency. All 8 members are fluent in both Korean and Japanese. The group can sing and rap in all three languages. They also speak some Chinese and French, but don't usually use those in their music. ---------------------------------- Not all of their music is super GO GO GO. Stray Kids also write / sing beautiful ballads and have performed a few songs for K-drama soundtracks. They also collab with / produce for other idol groups and individual artists from Korea, Japan, China, Thailand and the U.S.
thank you for reaction! 5:30 Felix is saying something like "oh, shwit" which roughly translates to "oh shoosh" from Korean to English. if a song has cursing words, it would be prohibited from broadcasting on the main Korean TV channels and radio, so groups typically avoid using them, at least in the title tracks. sometimes they use use tricks like in this case to avoid the censorship.
Also, the symbols are Anger, Sorrow, Joy and Pleasure. Anger is the first to go, sorrow is the second and joy is the one over Felix's head. They all disappear until only Pleasure remains. Also, the monsters in the background represent stage fright and the Stray Kids are helping the little kids fight their stage demons with rad beats and sick dance moves. That's why the camera keeps going in and out of their eyes in transitions. The song is about just letting everything go until there is nothing but Pleasure remaining. Let go of your anger and sorrows. Block out all of the noise of the world and just enjoy this song. Even if it's just for 3 minutes.
Joy was the second one to go. If you watch the video of them reacting to LALALALA, Chan says so. Sorrow/sadness was the third to go. Side note. I know the Japanese kanji for Love was on one of the giant slabs of the Sorrow/sadness set. I actually have that written on my wall, so I recognized it.
@@ColKizumi It's ok. Joy & Sorrow are connected by a bus. And they vanish really close to each other. Since I can't read the words, I have to rely on what others & the members have said. I still get confused.
Tyty for more skz! They don't always sound the same, but they DO always sound uniquely awesome. Thunderous, freeze, megaverse, top line, maniac, venom, all in, social path, super bowl, double knot would give you a good variety of sounds. Keep in mind as you go that there are always deeper meanings and lore clues to puzzle out❤
More stray kids they're my favourite group ever their music is the best you can reaction to S class or thunderous , venom, maniac, topline, freeze and many music, they are amazing ❤
Im an older Aussie, and few years ago got hooked on Kdrama, then I found Stray Kids. Love their music, and googling the group to find out more on them, found that Felix and Chris (Bang Chan) were Australians. Super proud 😊. All of the group have fantastic voices. ❤
This song was the one that got me into stray kids. It was actually a korean dance group called ARTBEATS on TH-cam. They did the dance cover of this song, and i loved it so much i had to check out the original and i felldown the stray kids rabbit hole😂
Some recs - MIROH (edm feel) - MEGAVERSE (similar feel to lalala, it’s the next single on the same album) - thunderous (very epic sounding, loud & noisy) - case 143 (more pop-y feel and a bit goofy) Also since you mentioned 3racha, they have a song of the same name, and it has a British grime/drill sound which may be of interest lol Truly I would recommend listening to the 5 star album as a whole. I think it’s wonderful ❤
God I love watching new people discovering SKZ 😂 I’m just gonna say enjoy the ride, there’s so much to experience with them. I’m sure you got many recommendations but I’m gonna suggest some anyway: for newer songs definitely Topline and Megaverse, few years older ones Freeze, Venom and Maniac
I've seen vlogs by Chan and Han shot the same night after a concert and they're still working, writing songs aaand there's another concert the next day. That's how they got time for all they do!
Thank you so much for your 2nd reaction. The next recent song is Megaverse m/v and S-Class m/v then check out Maniac and Venom m/vs. So much more to go. There is so many amazing music videos from Stray Kids. Despite their normal roles don't let it fool you. They can all rap, dance and have amazing Vocals. Han is considered the ace of the group because he does everything effortlessly perfect. He can sing like a main vocalist. Felix also has an amazing vocal range from tiny high voice to deep as the ocean low. He has one solo song he wrote last year called Deep End. Han is also amazing lyricist and can conjure up songs in 5 min. He also has amazing solo songs and the list is long. Volcano song is one of my favorites of Han's songs. They actually all have solo songs. Felix and Lee know is they only ones that just have 1 solo. Catch you on the next video ride with stray kids.
It all started with 3racha, they've existed before stray kids. (3 racha because they spicy like Sriracha and there's 3😅) the other units (vocal-racha, dance-racha, pabo-racha, carb-racha) are all plays on the name of their founding unit
Thank you for reaction to straykids❤ More straykids please Straykids best K-pop group songs straykids🔥❤ Straykids everywhere all around the world you make straykids stay Straykids❤
The Racha thing started with 3Racha, is a word play with sriracha, because koreans pronounce three as "sri", and 3racha has 3 members and their sound is spice and hot. They're Mixtape cover is even similar to a hot sauce logo 😂😂😂. DanceRacha and VocalRacha were named by the fans, Stays, and the members just accepted and started to used it officially.
So the song is about fighting against negative feelings like fear and anxiety. Which is what the monsters and symbols represent. All the symbols disappear until only Joy is left. Yes. Felix has the blue hair in this one. There actually is a rock version of this song on their album. Omg Red Lights 😂😂 such a masterpiece. I love that song. It was my first Stray Kids experience, lol. Thunderous, Maniac, Freeze or SClass next. Also their newest mv is actually MegaVerse. It came out after LaLaLaLa.
Thank you for your first reactions, so fun to watch another become a Stay. There is a channel that does a breakdown of symbols/meaning of songs. It's fun to watch or listen to any of Stray Kids live performances, dance practices, 'making of' vids, color-coded songs with lyrics... basically anything of/with Stray Kids is a joy-filled experience!
My gym.playlist is full of Stray Kids and ATEEZ (another group) because they give me ENERGY!!! I cant wait for you to see more .....I am here for it all! MEGAVERSE next? Just let us know when you are ready to watch a Stray Kids guide......us STAYs have a really good one for you to watch.
@@compactrhythm here the link to the guide all of STAYs really like its by TeaNoSuga its kind of long but please don't get scared off...we will watch it all with you! th-cam.com/video/Wvl5MSDif0s/w-d-xo.htmlsi=GgieZ_1_lyM-xqaj
Love your reaction! This is a deep rabbit hole so I will be subscribing to see it all ❤ Keep going with their songs. They have amazing b List songs as well. You may or may not like ballads, but they have some great ones. See Megaverse, Thunderous, Maniac, S-Class and so much more....❤
LET'S GOOOO SKZ!!! You should react more.. they'll blow your mind, for sure!!😂 Megaverse and Venom have nassstttyyyy beat. Megaverse is the recent one, while Venom was from a few years ago, but ISTG they're crazy good.. Honestly, tho, I want to keep the list going on cause there's no single song that sounded bad from SKZ. They're all gooooooooood.
Also check out dance practices ❤ full view choreo is the best! I like this one just as much (or more in some ways) as the MV: th-cam.com/video/r7GdqNUo_uE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=t56yzIKN9HxWhZf1 I **think** my top two dance practices are Easy and Double Knot. So many favorites.... all so good (including the dance practice for God's Menu)
You can use Rak (pronounced similarly to 'Rock' but with more of an L then an R. You hear them shouting it when Changbin is rapping at the start of the song if you need context.) instead of Lalalala. It's the Korean title for this song. It means Pleasure. Also, when Changbin starts the song, you know the song is going to be a hard-core banger. Lol
NEXT STRAYKIDS SONG REACTIONS RECOMMENDATIONS: (👇🏻All have Music Videos) THUNDEROUS S-CLASS MEGAVERSE TOPLINE EASY MIROH DISTRICT 9 ALL IN CIRCUS DOUBLE KNOT CASE 143 (DONT HAVE MV/watch lyric vids) 3racha (song) ITEM DOMINO (with dance practice) MUDDY WATER HALL OF FAME CHARMER HEYDAY BOXER Maze of memories (lovin the stray Kids reactions)
3racha was wordplay. 3racha sounds like Sriracha (the hot sauce). So they were basically saying their rap and beats were as hot and spicy as sriracha. Stays took the racha part and apply it to all the units... so DanceRacha and VocalRacha were added to 3racha. Now we add it to everything for SKZ. So there are other "Rachas" like PaboRacha (which is like Idiot Racha compromised of Hyunjin, Han and Lee Know, but others get included sometimes lol) and NyangNyangRacha (which is like MeowMeowRacha comprised of the cat-like members Lee Know and Felix.) SKZ (short for Stray Kids) is good at wordplay. So it the part where it sounds like Felix is cussing "technically" he said "swit"... which does mean "shoosh" but hearing them perform it on shows sometimes it sounds less like swit and more like the other word. 😂 It's hard to suggest individual songs without knowing someone's taste, but I can suggest some of my favorites (that are similar vibes to what you have seen so far). When you want to branch out to softer songs or into different genres, we can recommend you some of those. With almost 200 songs and more than 40 genres... we can definitly find something that you'd love. SKZ really is something special. I mean, they even invented their own genre called "Mala taste" coming from the spicy, numbing, but addictive soup called malatang. Thunderous S-Class Megaverse Charmer (no video but you could do a color-coded lyric video for it or a fan-filmed performance or both) Get Lit Topline Easy Double Knot (Both in English and Korean. Both have a video.) District 9 (Their actual debut song) Domino (Both in English and Korean. Neither have a video. There is a teaser video for it but it's not the whole song.) Cheese Super Bowl (Both in English and Japanese. English has no video. Japanese has a video.) SKZ have 2 YT accounts... Their Stray Kids channel and their Japanese channel. The Japanese music will be on that channel and will not have subtitles on it. Also I would really love for you to react to "Hellevator". This is the first song they made together BEFORE they were even techincally Stray Kids. They were 16 to 20 years old at the time. It would be good for you to see how much talent they had even way back then and to see how far they have grown over time.
"Oh shit" muhahahhhhahaaa.... listen to Comflex!!! 😂 Also Super Bowl. ❤️🔥 (The album release is full English, the m/v was a Japanese version) ...legend says the line has to do with a 'dish', if you ask Stay, there is no dish in the building. It's all a cover story. 🤣😂🤣
I'm going to reply to myself with a story line list if you would like peruse it & watch SKZ grow into the extremely talented artists we know today. But first. A breakdown of the MV for you. I think the giant figures represent Fear & stage fright. (They also seem to be based on Japanese spirits of drowned sailors called Umibozu) They dissipate when the words of the emotions in the children's heads disappear. I believe the floating characters are the words Joy, Anger, Sorrow, and Happiness/pleasure. (This is what I have been told. It seems to be a mix of Chinese, Japanese, and Korean, and I can read none of those.) There are four factions for four groups of the members. Since the four factions represented emotions, the locations were different. Anger was at the bottom of the ocean. It's a dense emotion that we try to smother & it thrives under pressure. The members who represent this emotion are pirates. Joy was a bank. It's an emotion that we store & take out for special things. The members that represent this emotion are in denim, but surrounded by clowns who look like the ones from the Dark Knight. Sorrow was a stark place of floating ash and monuments that were like graves. The members who represent this emotion are in pale & washed out colors mixed with white. Happiness/Pleasure was in a fort of musical instruments. It's an emotion that's loud & messy. We hear it before we see it. The members who represent this emotion look a lot like people from Mad Max mixed with military. Now. Anger attacked Joy first. They bypassed Sorrow altogether. (You can see this in the map they showed.) But it didn't turn out. Anger was defeated & captured. That was the first word to dissipate. The next to fall was Joy. Happiness/Pleasure snuck in disguised as clowns & planted a bomb. (We saw I.N talking on a communicator & one of the clowns also had one. He later takes off the mask as he leaves revealing it's Han, yet you can also see pirate Han still tied on the floor behind him.) The bomb went off. Since the bus was in both Joy & Sorrows' realms (Back half in Joy, front in Sorrow. We can't have one of those emotions without having felt the other.) we see the explosion as the camera pans to Sorrow, and the word for Joy dissipates as well. Sorrow falls & we see that Happiness/Pleasure is all that remains. They have gathered parts of the other emotions & folded them into their own. Happiness/Pleasure is very nuanced. It can contain elements of the other emotions and still be the same. Also. I think Lee Know said (In the video with them reacting to the music video) that the children are them when they were young. And over the years these emotions that they felt at varying times have been "defeated" and all that's left is pleasure in their music. The sequence of emotions & dissipation of said emotions seems to mirror their own journey. When they first started, everything was pretty evenly balanced. They hit a few hard times & anger kinda made an appearance, but then they started enjoying things more....Then Woojin left & sorrow took hold for a while. But they came out of that better balanced, and now are taking pleasure in their work once again. Currently they take pleasure in their work, it's tempered with the other emotions, but the dominating drive they have is happiness & pleasure. The lyrics of the song are about locking away your stress & meeting the world with fun & music. The bus is an interesting thing. As well as being between the the factions of Joy & Sorrow (The back part was fully in Joy's section....But the front was in Sadness. Almost as if it had crashed into it.) , it's actually a call back to their beginning. And it's not the one from District 9, it's the one from Grow Up that was heading to District 9. I do think the District number being 325 is significant. Since that is the debut date, it has now become the beginning district. It WAS district 9 for the 9 of them, but that has changed over the years. And it is no longer just them. They invited ALL of us in in Back Door. At the beginning, it was small & sheltered. They were very careful of their district. But as they grew in confidence, they threw the notice out to everyone who wants to enter...All we have to do is knock. And Felix didn't swear. Felix is saying the Korean word for Shh. I believe it's Swit? So it's a work around on the no swearing rule. Stray Kids love homophones. I mean, look at the title for the album & this song. It means happiness/pleasure in Chinese. But it sounds like the English word "rock". So the album is Rock Star, and it's all about emotions. Every song on this album is designed to touch our emotions in different ways. You should definitely listen to the entire Rock Star album.
Stray Kids started their musical journey with a story they wanted to tell. And their music has evolved with them. I'll leave a list for you if you would like to go through it. I give this list to any baby Stay, or those just learning about SKZ, I come across to help them in their SKZ journey. I'm going to include some songs I think are part of the story, but not quite. I'll put them in brackets. And yes. The trailers & teasers I list are needed for the story. Hellevator isn't needed, but it's good for new people to watch it. Helevator was made in 2017 before they even debut, as part of the Survival Show that they went through to prove they could debut as one group. And parts of it are seen through out the story line.(I don't know if other people have told you SKZ were a 9 member group at the beginning. At just under 2 years into their journey one of them, Woojin, left. You will see Woojin in older videos. He was present till Double Knot at the later part of 2019. He has a lovely voice, and I wish him well on his solo career. A lot of Stay ignore his existence because of how he left. Stray Kids are 8 members now, and personally that's the way I think it should be. I just mention him because new people get confused.) And yes. You need to watch it in order of the list. (Hellevator) I Am Not trailer District 9 (Mirror could go here, but it's not completely in the story line. But it fits.) Voices Grow Up My pace I Am You Victory Song Performance Video Miroh Cle 2: Yellow Wood trailer Side Effects Teaser 1 Side Effects Double Knot (Astronaut is technically next, but it's also a split in the story line again. The group from this one end up in space & go on to the song TOP where they have a conclusion of a sorts for their story. So their path is up to Double Knot, then Astronaut, and finally TOP. The main story skips this, and goes on to Levanter Trailer.) Cle: Levanter Trailer Levanter Go Live Trailer Stray Kids Prequel: Highlight Reel Gods Menu In Life Trailer Back Door I think that's the end of the official story line. Stray Kids consider Gods Menu as their new beginning, and the story shows it. After that, they take many different routs in their story & music. There Is also a separate story line called the Mixtape Universe, or the Film Club Universe. It's it's own self contained thing, and it recently got a added film in the latest comeback. It follows the members in an alternate reality as they are members of a school film club. Mixtape: On Track Unveil track: B Me Mixtape: OH The View And just recently there is now SKZFLIX that kind of follows an alternate path of the Film Club universe, and the Unveil track for Leave also ties in. We are waiting for Leave to get a full film. I want it so bad. (At this point, I don't think it will get it's own MV. And I am sad.) I hope this helps you on your journey of exploration into Stray Kids' music.
5:18 lol so this is kind of a inside joke for stays, for some reason skz aren't allowed to cuss even though their other label mates are able to slide in some innuendo, or staight up slip in a cuss word from time to time. Cursing is not unallowed in kpop, really nothing is unallowed actually, but they try to limit it because one of the main shows idols promote their songs on is a family channel. Chan 2:38 , their leader and one of their main producers/songwriters, basically realized he could slip in some "wordplay" and curse without "cursing" hes been doing that in a lot of their songs lately.
They are K-pop, but they do have a genre called Mala Taste, which was created after God's Menu. K-pop is not a genre. It just means pop from Korea. That's why it has so many different sounds.
Hi, I am back. Good reaction, ty. Yep, blue haired Felix. Nice job. This one was not bad on the 2nd listen. I'll have to relisten. Yes, BTS pls. Love those. I watch this because i like u. I had a feeling u would like this song too. They use a lot of rock in their arrangements. The guys work hard to make these songs. Felix wrecker he the guy with the super low voice. He Australian. Hyunjin biased. He one of the visuals in the group and a great dancer, rapper and singer too. They all slay. I am just not a huge fan. Their production and mix don't appeal to me much. I only like 5 songs from them. But they good guys. These guys are alternative and more rap based. They were formed through a TV competition. U do u. If u liked this then listen to more. They got others that ppl like. Borahae. -NY USA 2019 Army💟
If you like those kinda stuff you should react to: 1.Seventeen "Super" (also write their own stuff like Straykids) 2. ATEEZ "Crazy Form" 3. Enyphen "Fever" 4. EXO "Growl" Insane visuals, crazy choreography, dancing, rapping, singing, impressive production is quite common in Kpop. So if you like those kinda stuff you should react to more Kpop groups and not BTS. Cause BTS is the least kpop (most laid back) kpop in kpop, & they're ironically the biggest, I mean bigger than Kpop. Also song writing & producing isn't common in Kpop, but the one who popularized it is BTS.
@@CeruleanBlue-ci8vr yeah, they are the face of Kpop, but they aren't the best representative of what the current Kpop is. BTS doesn't really use Kpop qualities that much, for example in their music videos. The set barely changes & some of it has no choreography. For example, Life goes on, Yet to come, Film out, Wildflower, Astronaut, More, Arson, Heageum, Still Life, Like Crazy, For Us, Rainy Days, Closer than this, Slow Dancing, Blue, etc. Compared to BTS most Kpop MV are highly produced, have certain choreography, have catchy melody, have iconic choruses, have shiny visuals, & are very up beat. And obsessed with looking good & sounding good. (BP is a good example) Most Kpop title tracks are rarely mellow, laid back, or even ballad. Also, how can you say BTS is the face of Kpop when most of them don't even fit the Korean beauty standards nor do they look like idols. Also they're neither the best vocalist, visuals, nor best dancers in Kpop. Nor do they have a proper image of Kpop idols. For example, an idol must not swear, smoke, drink, have tattoos, etc. Those are known taboos if you're a Kpop idol but BTS members has already done those things. Basically based on action, sound & image BTS is the least Kpop act, & that's why they're more popular than Kpop. And based on Korean music critic, Blackpink is like the epitome & peak of Kpop not BTS.
@@CeruleanBlue-ci8vr let me point this again. 1. Not fitting to the beauty standard. There are obviously exception of the beauty standards which are refered to as visual holes. But as I said those visual holes are very very few in each groups. For example Hwasa & changbin. Majority of the members of their groups still fit the beauty standards. BTS on the other hand is the opposite. 2. Most Kpop groups are designed to have foreign members, or have a Korean member who has lived overseas that speaks fluent English to attract global audience. For example Black Pink, it has one foreign member, & two members that has lived overseas. So it has 3 out of 4. Stray kids, has Bangchan & Felix so it has 2 out of 8. Black Pink, EXO, SuperM, Twice, and all globally popular group has atleast one foreign member cause it gives a lot of advantages like Lisa's case where her Thailand people supports her, Sandara from 2ne1 also has this advantage even though she's Korean but since she has lived overseas, she has support from Filipinos. Basically, in Kpop it's very effective to have mixed members to appeal to the global audience but the most globally popular group BTS ironically has none. 3. About the tattoo thing, there are few exemption of Kpop idols who indeed has tattoo but there's only very few if none in one group. But where can you find another group that has all tattoos like BTS? 4. Like I said most Kpop groups title tracks are rarely ballad or mellow, cause most of it are all upbeat, like StrayKids & Black Pink. Also most Kpop groups has a particular sound that makes them "them". For example Black Pink, you can pick one song from them like du du du & say that's what they generally sound like. StrayKids too fall in this category, they have their own iconic sound for example this song la la la, you can say that's what they generally sound like. But you can't do this with BTS cause they don't have a particular sound that's make them "them". 5. Like EXO, G-Idle, ATEEZ, StrayKids, BP, etc. They all have choreography in their title tracks, their MV is highly produced, they have creatively switches backgrounds in their MV, they have flashy visuals & outfits, they typically have impressive sounding raps or visuals & catchy hooks. For me that's what Kpop is, it's a spoon feed music that is designed to be easily digestible. If music genre is a type of food Kpop is definitely fast food. 6. Lastly, you seriously think BTS is popular because they came from small company? If that's the case their fans would've have left now since they're already from the biggest of the big 4, but clearly that's not the case. Also, Seventeen is also from a small company & they write their stuff too. (Clearly, BTS writing their own stuff & coming from a small company is not the main reason they're popular cause if that's the case 17 should be as popular as BTS). Big Bang too, GD is also known to write & produce, & I think old groups like Sheskies, & new groups like StrayKids who are known to write all of their stuff still also ain't as popular as BTS, so writing your own stuff or music is still not the key to that type of popularity. Storylines also ain't the reason either, since most groups these days have crazier storylines than BTS. Also, TH-cam, Twitter, TikTok, Vlive, Instagram, own variety shows, etc. Are accessable to anyone & all kpops has those, so you can't say BTS is popular because of those things. Secondly, I'm pretty sure a lot will say BTS is popular because of their English pop songs, but that's very dumb claim considering BTS weren't the first who has done that. For example SuperM's Jopping & Blackpink's Ice cream came first before BTS Dynamite. Also BTS, even without a single English song or album they became the biggest band in World (2018). And even if they did released full English songs now, the percentage of their full English songs compared to their non-english songs is basically less than 1%. Which means their English songs is basically 0% or completely non-existent compared to BTS's entire discography. Blackpink on the other hand has more than 30% English songs in their entire discography. They even have English album, so the hate train that BTS gets for being too "westernized" or obsessed with western "validation" should apply to Blackpink not BTS. Lastly, I completely understand why Kpop fans can't even begin to understand why BTS is so popular. 😅 I mean I've seen a lot of Kpop groups, and I can even say some are better than BTS, in terms of production, performance, visuals, dancing, singing, etc. I can even say StrayKids is the best Kpop group I've seen. Unfortunately, they're not as popular as BTS and I completely understand why.
@@CeruleanBlue-ci8vrStray kids is definitely the new highest peak of Kpop. Or should I say they're the best Kpop group ever to exist. But even if BTS never existed, StrayKids will never be as big or as popular as BTS. Honestly, if even if I'm not fan of Kpop, I've heard of BTS. But unless I'm a fan of Kpop, I'll never hear about this groups called "StrayKids, Seventeen, TXT, ATEEZ, etc" See the difference?
@@CeruleanBlue-ci8vr I never said StrayKids music is like fast food. I said if music genre is food, Kpop is definitely fast food like pop music is. It's designed to be popular and easy to consume. I don't mean it in a very demeaning way.
@@CeruleanBlue-ci8vr About your no.4 I've heard a lots of songs from StrayKids about mental health & depression, etc. I never once said they aren't deep or assumed they are shallow. This song lalala alone is a good example of that. In the MV it's about facing your stage fright a.k.a your fears.
To me Stray kids are the best kpop group

Same. I'm 56. These kids can cross all music genres, and they make it look easy.
About Stray Kids.........
3Racha - Stray Kids' main writing and production unit, consisting of Bang Chan (the leader of Stray Kids), Changbin and Han (two of their main rappers)
Bang Chan was an idol trainee at JYP for several years.
----------------------------------
Stray Kids debuted in 2018. They started with 9 members (in their early videos, you'll see 9 people performing) but Woojin left in Oct 2019. Stray Kids have been an 8-member group ever since.
----------------------------------
DanceRacha - their main dance unit (Hyunjin, Felix, and Lee Know). But all 8 members dance very well.
----------------------------------
VocalRacha - their main vocal unit (Seungmin and I.N). But again, all 8 members have great singing voices and they switch around on lead vocals, depending on the song.
----------------------------------
Main rappers - Changbin, Han, Hyunjin and Felix (the deep-voiced guy) - however unlike many K-pop groups, all 8 members can and have rapped, depending on the song.
----------------------------------
Languages:
Bang Chan (the leader of the group) and Felix (deep-voiced guy) are both Korean-Australian, so English is their first language. The other 6 members speak English with varying degrees of fluency.
All 8 members are fluent in both Korean and Japanese. The group can sing and rap in all three languages. They also speak some Chinese and French, but don't usually use those in their music.
----------------------------------
Not all of their music is super GO GO GO.
@@GolyenHighway dang. How the devil did I get joy and Sorrow mixed up? Thank you for the correction. Lol
@@ColKizumi It's ok. Joy & Sorrow are connected by a bus. And they vanish really close to each other. Since I can't read the words, I have to rely on what others & the members have said. I still get confused.
@@GolyenHighway I love your brain..🖖🏼
Also need ot add they do have a rock version of LaLaLaLa but in audio only. Check it out
Here's a stage performance to the rock version th-cam.com/video/UQj5MN5wlxs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=u3i6IkdbtuFpB28t
If a song starts with Changbin, like this and God's Menu, it's called a 'Bintro' 😁 and you know its gonna be a banger!
That's a good one! I'm gonna use it 😂
Tyty for more skz!
Thank you :3 i'm so excited
Im an older Aussie, and few years ago got hooked on Kdrama, then I found Stray Kids. Love their music, and googling the group to find out more on them, found that Felix and Chris (Bang Chan) were Australians. Super proud 😊.
All of the group have fantastic voices.
❤
felix is my bias the deep voice, he's actually from Australia so he speaks fluent english.
This song was the one that got me into stray kids. It was actually a korean dance group called ARTBEATS on TH-cam. They did the dance cover of this song, and i loved it so much i had to check out the original and i felldown the stray kids rabbit hole😂
I wish I could rediscover them. I just admire them so much. SO happy for you to have found them!
Some recs
- MIROH (edm feel)
- MEGAVERSE (similar feel to lalala, it’s the next single on the same album)
- thunderous (very epic sounding, loud & noisy)
- case 143 (more pop-y feel and a bit goofy)
Also since you mentioned 3racha, they have a song of the same name, and it has a British grime/drill sound which may be of interest lol
Truly I would recommend listening to the 5 star album as a whole. I think it’s wonderful ❤
Thank you! The song 3racha sounds really interesting and I'll definitely check it out and of course the other songs you recommended
God I love watching new people discovering SKZ 😂 I’m just gonna say enjoy the ride, there’s so much to experience with them. I’m sure you got many recommendations but I’m gonna suggest some anyway: for newer songs definitely Topline and Megaverse, few years older ones Freeze, Venom and Maniac
glad you're hyped without breaking the table this time lol.
welcome to stray kids HOT MEGAVERSE! brace your helmet when deep diving!
*subscribing!
I've seen vlogs by Chan and Han shot the same night after a concert and they're still working, writing songs aaand there's another concert the next day. That's how they got time for all they do!
You gotta listen to Maniac and Backdoor and Thunderous next!!!!
Thanks so much
For hype songs, you have to check out Thunderous, Venom, Circus, Maniac, Victory Song, Megaverse, Miroh...honestly you can't go wrong.
Cheese is also good
And Megaverse if you love Han rap.
@@heatherlam5264 Yes and "Got It" I absolutely love it.
@@OkieDoak19 Totally missed it. Reading is fundamental, people. (sorry about that!)
Thanks so much. I really love Han's voice in the way he raps and everything so I'll definitely check out his solo work
STRAY KIDS SIMPLEMENTE GENIALES ÚNICOS⭐👑🌟🥇💪🌠🙋♂️
It all started with 3racha, they've existed before stray kids. (3 racha because they spicy like Sriracha and there's 3😅) the other units (vocal-racha, dance-racha, pabo-racha, carb-racha) are all plays on the name of their founding unit
More stray kids please❤

funny you say you'd like a guitar cover, they have a rock version of this song that slaps so hard
FELIX MY FAVORITE INCREDIBLE SINGER😇💛😍🌻👍🌟🌠
Yes he's outstanding
Try S-Class, Megaverse, Maniac, Thunderous, Topline, Venom, Freeze, Circus, and many more! Love your reaction to Stray Kids!

I like this one just as much (or more in some ways) as the MV: th-cam.com/video/r7GdqNUo_uE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=t56yzIKN9HxWhZf1
I **think** my top two dance practices are Easy and Double Knot. So many favorites.... all so good
(including the dance practice for God's Menu)
You can use Rak (pronounced similarly to 'Rock' but with more of an L then an R. You hear them shouting it when Changbin is rapping at the start of the song if you need context.) instead of Lalalala. It's the Korean title for this song. It means Pleasure.
Also, when Changbin starts the song, you know the song is going to be a hard-core banger. Lol
RACHA because the original 3 were 3Racha....a play on the word SIRRACHA...... because they are all hot stuff 😂
You said a mouthful.. ... ... respectfully..
@Resistance_Is_Futile1of3 ahhhhh, nothing like the truth to make your day.
Check out Red Lights. You won't be disappointed.
you gotta check the rock version of this one!
Felix didn't say what you think
I says "oh shwid" whoch is written 쉳 and is the korean word for shoosh.
5:26 it is "shoosh" in korean. The other word you're thinking of sounds nothing like it in korean
S-class next!!!❤🎉❤
리액션감사해요❤❤❤
Shoosh in Korean is Swis (s is often pronounced as sh and t) hence the shit/shwit sound. :P (at least that's my understanding of it)

So there are other "Rachas" like PaboRacha (which is like Idiot Racha compromised of Hyunjin, Han and Lee Know, but others get included sometimes lol) and NyangNyangRacha (which is like MeowMeowRacha comprised of the cat-like members Lee Know and Felix.)
SKZ (short for Stray Kids) is good at wordplay. So it the part where it sounds like Felix is cussing "technically" he said "swit"... which does mean "shoosh" but hearing them perform it on shows sometimes it sounds less like swit and more like the other word. 😂
It's hard to suggest individual songs without knowing someone's taste, but I can suggest some of my favorites (that are similar vibes to what you have seen so far).

District 9 (Their actual debut song)
Domino (Both in English and Korean. Neither have a video. There is a teaser video for it but it's not the whole song.)

Super Bowl (Both in English and Japanese. English has no video. Japanese has a video.)
SKZ have 2 YT accounts...
Also, I'm sorry that was so long. Believe it of not... I shortened it a lot. 😂
@@PoeticMisfortune I think it is just the right size..🖖🏼
"Oh shit" muhahahhhhahaaa.... listen to Comflex!!! 😂
Also Super Bowl. ❤️🔥 (The album release is full English, the m/v was a Japanese version)
...legend says the line has to do with a 'dish', if you ask Stay, there is no dish in the building.

Back Door
I think that's the end of the official story line.
Mixtape: On Track
Unveil track: B Me
Mixtape: OH
The View
And just recently there is now SKZFLIX that kind of follows an alternate path of the Film Club universe, and the Unveil track for Leave also ties in. We are waiting for Leave to get a full film. I want it so bad. (At this point, I don't think it will get it's own MV. And I am sad.)
I hope this helps you on your journey of exploration into Stray Kids' music.
Well written as usual.. great information.🖖🏼

Me confundí al ver el título de la canción, pero buena reacción 😂
I don't think Straykids are Kpop...for me they are the rockers of Kpop...So talented....❤
Liked your review 🫶
they are kpop
They are K-pop, but they do have a genre called Mala Taste, which was created after God's Menu. K-pop is not a genre. It just means pop from Korea. That's why it has so many different sounds.
You need to watch megaverse!!!!
será que vem aí um baby stay
what one is the "1 unavailable video is hidden" in your skz playlist?
if you really like the hype u should react to Megaverse its on the same album as this one!!
Can I ask where you reaction to Red Lights is? Is it blocked? On a stream?
Could you react to their song s class? It’s really good.
New subs! ❤️ Please react more of Stray kids.
If you like those kinda stuff you should react to: 1.Seventeen "Super" (also write their own stuff like Straykids)
2. ATEEZ "Crazy Form"
3. Enyphen "Fever"
4. EXO "Growl"
Insane visuals, crazy choreography, dancing, rapping, singing, impressive production is quite common in Kpop.
(BP is a good example)
Most Kpop title tracks are rarely mellow, laid back, or even ballad.
I mean I've seen a lot of Kpop groups, and I can even say some are better than BTS, in terms of production, performance, visuals, dancing, singing, etc.
But unless I'm a fan of Kpop, I'll never hear about this groups called "StrayKids, Seventeen, TXT, ATEEZ, etc"
See the difference?
@@CeruleanBlue-ci8vr I never said StrayKids music is like fast food. I said if music genre is food, Kpop is definitely fast food like pop music is. It's designed to be popular and easy to consume. I don't mean it in a very demeaning way.
@@CeruleanBlue-ci8vr About your no.4
I've heard a lots of songs from StrayKids about mental health & depression, etc. I never once said they aren't deep or assumed they are shallow.
This song lalala alone is a good example of that. In the MV it's about facing your stage fright a.k.a your fears.
are u australian?....just because u said no, like Bangchan...loll
