Yeah it's like going to the states and going straight to Queens or Brooklyn or Compton in LA and making hip hop. That's real. We can't tell him anything after this.
I am a Philly chick and my old college sweetheart is from "The Lou". My first time eating "smoked pork chops" was in STL. So y'all ate certain foods I hadn't eaten before. Lol. I have been to East St. Louis in the 90s. I went to a club called "Max's " I had a blast. My college sweetheart was my bodyguard and made sure I was safe. My maternal grandparents are from the Low Country of South Carolina. My mother eats chicken feet, cow tongue, cow foot soup, souse, turkey necks, chitterlings, hog maws, etc,. She introduced those foods to us as children. I don't eat most of those foods now, but I have always been an adventurous eater. When I travel, I connect with the locals through eating the food. I enjoyed the video. Keep up the great work!
Big Sbuda is one of the pioneers of this South African American movement just like you and your family Ricky. We appreciate all of you guys,Price Squad, Blantons, Red and Stace, Mansa Mayne, My c Jesmin, Ashley and many others, Dr Assad and his wife. What I absolutely love is the fact that all of you expose different aspects and elements of the South African experience and all of you seem to enjoy all these different elements. You guys make us appreciate this country so much because us South Africans have a culture of always complaining as if there is a perfect country somewhere in the world. Sbuda is so engrained in the South African experience, you can see it in his eyes that his heart is in this country. We celebrate you bro. God bless to all of you.
Well said and so true. Love that you are seeing and feeling things that are present and true! Sbuda is doing a great thing in all he's doing and the best is yet to come!
Good interview, brothers. It was good hanging out with Sbu a couple months back in Fourways. I really need to get connected to other AA in SAs since I’ve been living here for 9 months. Moving to SA has been one of the best decisions of my life! Blessings, brothers!
The influx of certain migrants though, not good at all. We're happy with AA. Thank you for loving SA and respecting it. Was almost in tears when I went to the city centre the other day. It's Mogadishu, Lagos and Pakistan all in one

Wow! Been waiting for this interview! Great men of Great Faith! Big Sbuda you hit the nail on the head by saying that you can't be afraid of being uncomfortable! THANK YOU SO MUCH MAN FOR THESE GREAT CONVERSATIONS. IT BRINGS GREAT JOY & FULFILMENT TO MY HEART WHEN I SEE AFRICAN AMERICANS ENJOYING SOUTH AFRICA. WE REALLY LOVE OUR OVERSEAS FAMILY WHO WERE PAINFULLY & CRUELLY TAKEN AWAY FROM US HERE IN AFRICA. IT’S ALWAYS GREAT TO SEE MY BEAUTIFUL AFRICAN AMERICANS COMING HERE TO VISIT & STAYING HERE PERMANENTLY. WE LOVE YOU GUYS DEEPLY FROM OUR HEARTS!!!!
So profound what Sbu said. Black Americans created Blues, Rock, Soul, Jazz and Hip Hop and us South Africans have borrowed all of that from them over the past 100 years but they never said no you cant but we want to tell people that they shouldnt use amapapiano. Its illogical. Flourish Sbu. Our giants like Hough Masekele and Miriam Makheba were schooled in the states and came back with black american culture and music so why do we complain.
