    what would dino fart smell like?

    • @moondayblue8948
      @moondayblue8948 7 ปีที่แล้ว +27

      Depends on the dino. Meat eating dinosaurs would have super pungent ones, similar to ours and other meat eaters of our time. Herbivores would also be smelly, but not as much. It is usually the meat in the digestive system that causes the major stink, as far as I know, but there's probably other factors to this.

    • @BlaReagy
      @BlaReagy 7 ปีที่แล้ว +21

      Actually a lot of herbivorous dinosaurs used fermentation to digest plants (like cows), so they would really stink too. Possibly worse because of the methane!

    Not only I don't get notifications from this channel, but youtube actually auto-unsubscribed me from notifications this week. WTF. I adore this channel, why can't my notifications bug elsewhere instead (then again, they might be bugged for a lot of other channels and I just don't notice it. I notice here because of how much I like these videos). My favourite thing about Gross Science is that there's no chance I won't like one of its videos. My approval rate for videos by this channel has been 100% so far (I've watched all of them, a few more than once). Not even Futurama, Rick and Morty, Archer or Bob's Burger meet that 100% approval criteria. Gross Science is entertainment guaranteed!

    Sorry to nitpick but those
    T-rex images/drawings were not entirely accurate. Not hating, (I do really like this chanel) just pointing out the lack of feathers.

    • @WEYffles
      @WEYffles 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      BooNyaNwa Coolness It has been proven already that T Rex did not have feathers. They were so big and thus produced so much heat, that feathers were not necessarily to keep them warm, and would actually possibly cause overheating on the T Rex if they were present.

    • @admiralcat3809
      @admiralcat3809 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      WEYffles there's no real evidences of scaly T, rex either and they did had small amounts of feathers. Don't think of bird feathers, think of thin fur layers

    • @Inksanity
      @Inksanity 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It has yet to be proven, but its more like to have had feathers to some extent than none at all

    • @Inksanity
      @Inksanity 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      WEYffles
      Actually, feathers would help the rex stay cool;
      I feel like this article explains it fairly well

    • @kabcdefghij
      @kabcdefghij 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is no evidence that T.rex had feathers. We actually have scale evidence from the neck and tail, as well as the side of the body from some of its relatives. That's not to say that T.rex did not have feathers, but it probably didn't have many.

    Gross topic suggestion: hair balls! Why do cats get them? What are they exactly? What other animals get them? 🙀

    • @moondayblue8948
      @moondayblue8948 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Generally cats with longer fur get hair balls. You know how much time they spend grooming? A lot. And when they do they swallow any fur that comes loose. For short haired cats that's no problem; the fur just passes through the digestive system and gets pooped out along with anything they eat. But long haired cats have much more fur, which in turn doesn't pass through the system as easily. So they puke it out. Fairly simple, really. I don't think many other animals get fur balls, because I don't know of any other animals with long fur that groom themselves pedantically. So I think this is more or less unique to cats, but I might be wrong.
